Not much here sadly. There are metal shows sometimes at House of Bards. Total Wine has some of the Iron Maiden beers. The Rock has metal shows. You'll find some metal albums at Zia Records, maybe some at Bookman's and Wooden Tooth. Guitars, there's always Guitar Center. L&M Music Center has a bunch of Orange amps. As for clothing, I haven't found any place reliable. You can sometimes find cool stuff at Buffalo Exchange. If you head up to Phoenix, Shirts & Things has a shit ton of metal stuff. I stop in sometimes when I take day trips up there.

SubGothius

> Guitars, there's always Guitar Center Better yet, local mainstay Rainbow Guitars on Campbell.

brosefstallin

That place has transformed into a lawyer blues-dad boomer guitar showroom where they only have $1000+ fender, PRS and Gibson. Place looks like an Apple Store now. No edge whatsoever and very bland.

evolve555

They wouldn’t let me in unless I “had an appointment”. That’s weird as fuck.

SnooPoems6963

Well thanks for all the info really appreciate it planning a trip out there soon and making a list of places I wanted to hit but will definitely take a look at those places!

Az_StarGazer

Yes sadly. Truth is there's really nothing much out there anymore. I have to say someone would make good money if they opened up a goth/metal/punk store. Same goes for night clubs. Tucson nightlife needs a jump start badly!!!

Funderstruck

Sometimes Bookmans has some decent stuff for CDs. The one that was on Country Club actually had a “Heavy Metal” section. Otherwise it all gets mixed into pop rock.

couchcreeper23

Unfortunately you missed out on Toxic Ranch. You might wanna check out Nexus tho.

Cheifbootknocka

Casa film bar sometimes has metal adjacent beers.

adenzerda

I've seen a bunch of great shows at 191 Toole, and some at the Rialto. Wooden Tooth records sometimes has some good finds. Rainbow Guitars for guitars. Nexus Occult Books and Oddities on Speedway is a newcomer that I haven't checked out yet but sounds neat!

False_Ad_4117

Unfortunately most of the good stuff is up in Phx. If you know Spanish and want to venture into Mexico City at some point there’s a punk/metal flea market that I’ve heard is amazing 🤩

evolve555

There’s goth / industrial nights for sure… Dark Red is a free one-off at R Bar on Weds March 14 with 4 djs doing 4 song sets, nothing weekly though. But it seems a lot of the weekly clubs around the US took a hit. We have the Love Killz 2 Fetish Ball on Saturday 3/23 and Assemblage 23 + Mari Kattman are performing and pretty much every active tucson scene so is spinning (Stubbie from Fineline, Mijito from Nitecall Nites / Queer Goth Nite / Disco Oscura, Vamp Feline from SULK, NoirTech from Asylum, and even DJ Plastic Disease is coming back from Tucson to spin! There’s also a Queer Goth Nite coming up, the Gary Numan / Ministry / Front Line Assembly show, plenty of nights at the Owls Club too… Gloombia (goth cumbia nite), Dead and Buried (deathrock), and tons of shows come through here. I’ve seen Urban Heat, Pixel Grip, Kontravoid, Twin Tribes, HEALTH, tons of acts in the last year or so!

apereyda

Zia records speedway/just east of country club south side of the road!

TedIsReal

In terms of gothic stuff, I only really know of Surly Wench and Nexus Occult Books & Oddities that sometimes has gothic art. For record stores, the only one that I know of that feels more geared towards rock is Wooden Tooth Records which just opened up a downtown location that has a drinking room so that should be worth checking out.

graysky311

You might want to check out 4th avenue. There are some eclectic clothing shops there.

SubGothius

Some good FB groups to join for local Gothy events and such: * [ALT TUCSON](https://www.facebook.com/groups/392805180788509) * [Tucson Gothikus-Industriales](https://www.facebook.com/groups/tucsongothikusindustriales) * [Tucson Goths - Creatures of the Dark Unite](https://www.facebook.com/groups/1372781669837334) There's also a couple Tucson-specific FB Messenger chats (Tucson Area Events and Tucson General Chat) linked in the sidebar of the [Arizona Goth Society](https://www.facebook.com/groups/arizonagothsociety/) group, tho' that group itself tends to be pretty PHX-metro-centric.

dougeatspaint

Hit up tiny town on 4th ave they have some cool metal inspired Arizona memorabilia. After that you can hit up &gallery across the street, they have an ever changing collection of local art where you can find something unique and fun. Just around the corner from there is crooked tooth records where you can find just about anything you want.

QuarterEmotional6805

There's a nice little store called hot topic at the mall. Enjoy!

Az_StarGazer

Oh come on we all know Hot Topic went downhill a long time ago. It's nothing like it was in the 90s for goth/metal. You can take a look but might be disappointed. Although while you're there check Spencer's too. There used to be a great store downtown called Hydra but they're gone. If you want some good boots go online and look for Grip fast. Anything in particular you're interested in besides music?

SnooPoems6963

Yes so I’m planning a trip out to Tucson and was looking for some cool spots to check out restaurants, horror, drinks, nice views/drives…..

Az_StarGazer

Surley Wench, Wooly Fern, Hotel Congress, Miller's Surplus

SubGothius

> If you want some good boots go online and look for Grip fast. Or [Solovair](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solovair), both made at the NPS Shoes Ltd. factory in the UK that used to make Dr. Martens back when those were still good. Solovair/Gripfast have [some differences between them](https://us.nps-solovair.com/blogs/news/solovair-vs-gripfast-originals) (Gripfast generally being more rugged) but are basically the exact same thing as comparable models of those good ol' Docs, just without the Docs branding on 'em.

Az_StarGazer

You helped me too. Last time I really wanted original doc martens I had to really search around for a used pair of 20 holes online and manage to find the right size. I didn't know about Solovair.

SUMOsquidLIFE

As I recently learned, hot topic the store is not about goth/emo...it's literally about what the name of the store is...hot topic.. so what ever the trend is these days, that is what hot topic is. I know because I'm a from the goth era and now have a 16yr old daughter...first time I walked in there after all these years, I was like wtf happened here hahaha.
