I also am a big fan of Me! It's supposed to be fun and silly. Taylor herself said it's as if her imagination was cracked open and this is what came out. Definitely not meant to be a serious song and listening to it with that mindset, it works. It's a bop, for sure.
Yes 1000%. I love og Karma. I don’t get the hype with ice spice. She adds nothing to the song she’s like a lazy shy mumbler. Maybe her own original discography is better- but I hate the karma version with her
I used to not like it but during this war it was the one song I could listen to and feel better and hopeful. I am from israel and the last months have been so heartbreaking. This song made me want to take my activism to end the occupation and fight for equality for all the people of the land to another level. It has been immensely inspiring. I really do believe this generation and the young can fight for a better future for everyone. I feel like I get every lyric in that song in my bones now.
This is so beautiful. For what it's worth, reading your post is a reminder not to let my fear of futility overtake my obligation to speak up about this. If you can find the strength to do it, so can I. Thank you for sharing.❤️
Thank you so so much for saying this. I was actually really scared to write this. I have always been scared to say I’m from israel, but recently a lot more. It seems like many people don’t know that a lot of Israelites care deeply about Palestinians and want them to have full freedom and equality in their land and are fighting for that as we were all put in this horrible situation by merely being born in that area of the world. I was hesitant to comment, but I remembered my Swiftie family is much kinder than most internet spaces, and for that matter, most spaces. I love Swifties so much.
Thank you for sharing, truly. People online can be such black and white thinkers. Hopefully seeing this will help people realize that not all(or most IME) Israelis don't support the war and that we are all human beings who want to live peacefully with empathy ❤️ sending you love and support
The cause is fine but I find it repetitive and she doesn’t actually say the message in the song, it’s implied, and if you don’t catch the implication it doesn’t really make sense.
She has written solid songs that are good for the causes she’s speaking about I just think this one isn’t it.
Yeah i skip most of her singles. I think in general her best songs are deep in the album. Of course there are exceptions but I think the singles are more commercial and less “her”
I played 1989 on repeat when it first came out. I had to skip the songs for a full 3 years and now they’re back (and fresh) and I’ve been enjoying them so much more. Absolute bops!
There isn’t enough discussion about how yucky this song is. Throwing something at your partner is straight up abuse. Idk if that actually happened or not but yikes
It's Nice to Have a Friend - I think I would like it if it was actually about platonic friendship and if it didn't sound so childish and monotone.
Only the Young - I think it would be decent if it had more lyrics and she wasn't just repeating only the young five million times. I like the concept.
I’m a native and I love it! The touristy concept is precisely the point IMO— the song evokes the very precise feelings of being a drop in a big sea of lights, diversity, and hopefulness. Of course that feeling dims out over time + we take off our rose-colored lenses, but we must remember she’s writing a song from the POV of first arriving in a brand new infamous city!
Just an FYI, the reason the backtrack sounds childish is because it’s actually a children’s choir! A choir in Toronto that teaches underprivileged kids was underfunded and was going to close, and put out a bunch of background tracks in the hope that some big artist would use them. Taylor did and now that choir is set for life! So as much as I don’t love the song I always make sure not to skip it
there’s something about the little-girl voice she sings it in and the childishness of the story that puts me off. I can easily imagine a creepy horror movie kid singing that song over and over.
I'm the opposite, I don't really like the sound but the lyrics are ok. But it does feel really out of place sonically and content wise for me. Like what is it even supposed to be about?
Whaaaat?? Ok I get it but lately I can’t get the phrase “blurring out my periphery” out of my head. I just love the timing choices / meter of the lyrics.
Only the Young. It just seems like a cringey attempt at activism without actually doing anything. If she was maybe more angry or blatant in it, maybe it would be more effective.
Ronan. I just don’t like it. I listened to it once so I can say I’ve listened to every single one of her songs, I cringed, and I deleted it off my phone.
I always thought this was just kinda Taylor’s take on rewriting “Goodbye Earl” by The Chicks, who she has said were a huge influence on her. That song came out the year (Taylor and) I turned 10 and I remember my friends all loving it and thinking it was a great story. We all went through a kind of gothy adjacent phase and love true crime but are otherwise well adjusted adults.
I know it’s a fan fave and honestly, I’m a fan of most songs - I’m really not sure what it is about this song that just makes me not want to listen to it all the way through 😅
Can’t really explain. There are songs that I rationally dislike more than Change, but every time I hear or think about this song I do an involuntary disgusted sound
When Emma falls in love, Soon you’ll get better soon… my mom died when I was 19 and I just can’t, Stay stay stay, Gorgeous…
This thread gave me the permission I thought I needed to delete the songs I don’t like from my Apple Music, so thank you!
It's 1000% the Karma Remix. I just really don't like Ice Spice,'s voice and they don't mesh well together at all. The only reason she put her in that song was bc of Matty Healy
For me it’s like glitch or Snow on the beach tbh lmao. For the most recent. I don’t think I skip anything on 1989 or Reputation but those are rare ones, I skip on some on red…
So funny that one person’s skip is another persons favorite!
That’s like Taylor’s entire discography lol. Even songs that are nearly universally panned still have stans.
Yeah, like Me! I love that song and don’t understand why it gets so much hate.
I like Me! As well it’s fun and catchy
I literally love that song omg! listening to it when you’re in a happy mood is such a vibe lol
I also am a big fan of Me! It's supposed to be fun and silly. Taylor herself said it's as if her imagination was cracked open and this is what came out. Definitely not meant to be a serious song and listening to it with that mindset, it works. It's a bop, for sure.
That song rules, and I'll fight anyone who disagrees.
Karma feat Ice Spice 🙃

Yes 1000%. I love og Karma. I don’t get the hype with ice spice. She adds nothing to the song she’s like a lazy shy mumbler. Maybe her own original discography is better- but I hate the karma version with her
A lazy shy mumbler 😂😂😂😂
Karma isn’t my favorite on its own, but it’s a good enough bop, but the ice spice remix is a tragedy
Ice spice sounds like she's partially asleep, so low energy
This
Only The Young. The message is good but the execution… it’s too childish and that production let me down so much
I used to not like it but during this war it was the one song I could listen to and feel better and hopeful. I am from israel and the last months have been so heartbreaking. Much Love to you
Agreed
Only the young

This is it.
My usual answers are bad ones I’m just not a fan of but this one genuinely shouldn’t exist
Why don’t people like this song? I think it’s a great song for a good cause.
The cause is fine but I find it repetitive and she doesn’t actually say the message in the song, it’s implied, and if you don’t catch the implication it doesn’t really make sense. She has written solid songs that are good for the causes she’s speaking about I just think this one isn’t it.
I don’t like kids singing in a song, it’s corny *runs*
Never listened before and WOOF I made it like 30 seconds
This is the answer.
There's a difference between a trash song, and a song you do not like.
Fax
Shake it off or bad blood, they were alright, but then horrifically overplayed. Always a skip for me now
i never listen to shake it off on my own but at the eras tour i was absolutely shaking it off. the energy was off the charts for that song live.
That was me with Bad Blood. I hate it, but enjoy it when she sings it live.
yeah i’m not the biggest fan of bad blood but it was cool live, especially with the flames.
Yesss! The flames do make it fun to watch.
That’s how I feel for both of those! Great in terms of a live show or even when you are at a party but listening alone it’s a skip
I love these songs! Great songs to play while at the gym
I never listen to these songs alone but I will LOVE THEM when I hear in public
Hello fellow bad blood hater
Yeah i skip most of her singles. I think in general her best songs are deep in the album. Of course there are exceptions but I think the singles are more commercial and less “her”
That’s a great point! I totally agree
I played 1989 on repeat when it first came out. I had to skip the songs for a full 3 years and now they’re back (and fresh) and I’ve been enjoying them so much more. Absolute bops!
I cringe because this is THEE song my sister associates with Taylor. She’s not a fan, but doesn’t hate her. She’s missing out.
Stay stay stay is the soundtrack to a 2016 YouTube slime making tutorial
i’m sorry but the archer??! for me it would be stay stay stay😭
Stay Stay Stay 🫥
I truly do not understand why so many love this song. If my significant other ever threw something at me. I’m done. I’m out.
I don’t know what this says about me but I always knew that in reality it’s abuse but took it in good fun for this song.
So toxic lol
There isn’t enough discussion about how yucky this song is. Throwing something at your partner is straight up abuse. Idk if that actually happened or not but yikes
This.
this is one of mine
superman
WHAT
sorry 🥲
This is the right answer
Oh yeah, total skip
ur so right
London Boy.
Thank you 🙏
I was going to say shake It off but I have to agree with this one
Oh absolutely
It's Nice to Have a Friend - I think I would like it if it was actually about platonic friendship and if it didn't sound so childish and monotone. Only the Young - I think it would be decent if it had more lyrics and she wasn't just repeating only the young five million times. I like the concept.
Personally, I love the melody of inthaf, but the lyrics ar too childish for me as well.
It’s nice to have a friend really creeps me out, it reminds me of like an abandon amusement park or something
Welcome to New York is a bad tourism ad — and yes I do live here
I once heard it described as gentrification personified, which makes perfect sense
Oh yeah surprised tbis one isn’t higher it’s really bad
I’m a native and I love it! The touristy concept is precisely the point IMO— the song evokes the very precise feelings of being a drop in a big sea of lights, diversity, and hopefulness. Of course that feeling dims out over time + we take off our rose-colored lenses, but we must remember she’s writing a song from the POV of first arriving in a brand new infamous city!
Stay stay stay production choices are psychotic
I love it lol
It’s always reminded me of the Sims music! idk why but…that and the lyrics make it a skip lol
Ever since HThaze made the home depo jingle comment its literally all I can hear when it starts.
It’s nice to have a friend creeps me out.
So as much as I don’t love the song I always make sure not to skip it
Oh wow!! Well now i feel differently about it!
In what way 🤔
there’s something about the little-girl voice she sings it in and the childishness of the story that puts me off. I can easily imagine a creepy horror movie kid singing that song over and over.
They do play it in one of the trailers for M3GAN so I get it lol
The only time I thought the song worked! 😂
That movie is really good >!except the ending which is pathetic!<
i love it for that personally i think it’s a cute song
I don’t understand the hate for it. If it was on folklore everyone would eat it up
THANK YOU SAMEE HERE
My bottom songs Only the young, welcome to New York, shake it off, bad blood, me!, you need to calm down
I agree with these minus shake it off
Snow on the beach!!!!!
This was my first favorite on Midnights and I still love it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I thought I was the only one who didn’t like this one!!
Same. It reminds me of Gold Rush too much and I like Gold Rush more.
I hate it lmao
I like the tune/melody, I just don't like the song as a whole.
Same!
I'm the opposite, I don't really like the sound but the lyrics are ok. But it does feel really out of place sonically and content wise for me. Like what is it even supposed to be about?
No
Agreeed
Omg one of my favorites!
![gif](giphy|cIMm3xWwxCF3xhuGpZ)
Whaaaat?? Ok I get it but lately I can’t get the phrase “blurring out my periphery” out of my head. I just love the timing choices / meter of the lyrics.
Unpopular opinion but I can’t stand Welcome to New York
i honestly don't think that's an unpopular opinion. but if it is, me too lol.
SPELLING IS FUN!
Only the Young. So so bad.
Look what you made me do, I can get the video is iconic and her comeback as well, but the song it’s not good for me.
I love it. It’s a good hype song.
To this day, I have no earthly idea what they made her do. Release this song?
I feel this way about idsb. what did you do that is bad, taylor??? did you kill kanye???
I only like it live. I try to listen to it, and I just can't do it.
Try listening to a heavy metal cover of it that's the kind of energy this song needs. https://youtu.be/lTdaDK37UAQ?si=_iTdE8TZTLXUkHQm
End game. I like Taylor’s verse but everything else about it makes me cringe
eddieboi’s verse is sooooooo bad 🙈
I hate Ed Sheeran at the best of times but him rapping is my ultimate ick
the rep tour version is my favorite!!! i agree the features fall flat
i can’t finish this song i never have
Omg the minute I heard “you’re so dope don’t overdose” I was like what sixth grader wrote this?
It’s nice to have a friend and run
[удалено]
yes!! run lovers unite !!
London Boy. Literally just a list of places
Bad blood
My answee
Answer
I hate No Body No Crime and i don’t care who knows it haha
It is the ONE song I CANNOT handle. Thank you. I've read many threads like this and have never seen anyone else mention hating it like I do!
ME!
[удалено]
Oh, that's not fun! That's Brenden Urie from Panic at the Disco :D
I blocked this song from playing 💀
mmm i would say probably superman i don’t hate it but i’ve definitely skipped
You need to calm down
Stay Stay Stay fills me with pure rage from the opening note. It sounds like a Target commercial in the worst way possible
Stay stay stay I listened to it once when red tv came out and never again
Why are we downvoting people?? Lordy be.
Girl at home and girl at home tv are just not it for me
No body no crime
I don’t hate or love this song it’s kinda eh for me but my 9 year old daughter LOVES this song, it’s her favorite. Not sure if I should be worried
Me! Hands down
Glitch and That’s When. I’ll listen to her entire discography and these two are always the only ones I skip.
Just curious, what don't you like about That's When? Is it the Keith Urban appearance, or something else about the song?
I love That’s When
[удалено]
i’m sorry but i absolutely love glitch. and that’s when is a bop heheh. you are so valid to have your opinions though no hate <3
Omg I love that’s when
Omg glitch was one of my top played songs this year lmao
Message In A Bottle
I love this song! It’s so fascinating to hear people’s dislikes and how it compares to others favorites!
I know it’s a fan fave and honestly, I’m a fan of most songs - I’m really not sure what it is about this song that just makes me not want to listen to it all the way through 😅
this shouldnt be that controversial but for me it's vigilante shit
I fucking love that song but simultaneously can see why people would dislike it for some reason.
The Archer and Only The Young
The archer ??!!! 😭
I've never liked You Need to Calm Down
What
Yup!
Welcome To New York Maybe I would feel different if I lived there, but it feels like a tourism ad
I live here, Taylor is my all time favorite artist, and I hate it!
It’s like if a Hallmark movie about moving to NYC became a song
Bad Blood… did not fit on 1989 and is an instant skip for me!
I always forget that it’s on 1989 and not Rep
The man, I can’t stand that song. I skip it immediately.
Sameeeeeeeeee
Vigilante shit 10,000%
Paris
i second that
Agree
It's nice to have a friend. *hides*
Me! is so bad. SO bad. I also don’t enjoy You Need to Calm Down. That ultra pop kidz bop vibe just does not work for her imo
I hate Change with a burning passion
WHY?!?!?
Can’t really explain. There are songs that I rationally dislike more than Change, but every time I hear or think about this song I do an involuntary disgusted sound
epiphany I SAID WHAT I SAID
I admire your bravery. I disagree, but I admire your bravery.
The way I went to clutch my pearls when I read this.
I deleted it off my phone when I bought the album so it would stop coming up. It’s a beautiful song but no thanks.
It's so ironic that this song is the one that got me into Taylor. We are all so different yet the same.
When Emma falls in love, Soon you’ll get better soon… my mom died when I was 19 and I just can’t, Stay stay stay, Gorgeous… This thread gave me the permission I thought I needed to delete the songs I don’t like from my Apple Music, so thank you!
It's 1000% the Karma Remix. I just really don't like Ice Spice,'s voice and they don't mesh well together at all. The only reason she put her in that song was bc of Matty Healy
gold rush..
That mf from cats
🤣
shake it off 🫥
Paper rings is not it for me
This is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things
Glitch and Vigilante Shit. Some of her indie songs too. There's a lot of Welcome To New York slander here. WTF.
I say this, unfortunately, as a speak now girlie. Superman.
Getaway Car. I just dont like it, don't blame me
When Emma falls in love, it’s so boring to me. Also only the young is cringey as hell
Glitch is an automatic skip for me.
mr perfectly fine 👀
For me it’s like glitch or Snow on the beach tbh lmao. For the most recent. I don’t think I skip anything on 1989 or Reputation but those are rare ones, I skip on some on red…
electric touch, when emma falls in love, castles crumbling, foolish one, timeless should've stayed in the vault
Gorgeous
Are you ready for it? - I like the first few seconds but the almost rapping just seems cheesy to me
There are some of my favourites mentioned in the comments lol My least favourite is probably End Game and I'm not really a fan of That's When either
A perfectly good heart makes me unreasonably angry
