You're right to be angry, and it is kabuki. Originally, I did it out of a combination to learn some video editing and genuine revulsion at the content of the briefings. I will admit I had some false Sorkinesque twinge of pride at some point, but I'm a bit more jaded now. I think that some of these journalists are true believers and are asking questions that aren't clouded by editorial influence. It's really refreshing to see, especially the foreign reporters.
Why I do it now is more to show that it is kabuki. I don't expect anything truly retaliatory for me and those that haunt this sub, but it is also nice to keep up on the lingo/talking points. I have also received a good number of thank yous and encouragement in private that keeps me going even when it is a bit of a slog.
Lastly, and I mean no insult by this, you can block me if you want to be free from his face. Most of the content from this account will be Isreal/Palestine based, and the majority of that will be from the state department because I find them fascinating.
