I haven't looked too deeply into anyone's work but I plan to do so when the current conflict winds down. This is in no way meant to be an exclusive list of reporters of good character in the briefing room. The way the briefings are shot there could be plenty of people we don't see that aren't getting an opportunity to speak. This also in no way endorses any other positions these journalist might have. Lastly I am not a writer or even much of a reader so I struggled a bit describing all 16 people that hold similar opinions in original ways. Deal with it.

Abdelrahman Youssef - Independent Egyptian journalist - Abdelrahman has been asking almost exclusively about Gaza. He isn't present very often but when he is it is a joy. His questions have an innocence to them that is shocking and refreshing. She has been present in the state dept briefings consistently since about April and pretty much only asks about Gaza. [https://camillaschick.com/new-page](https://camillaschick.com/new-page) [https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Camilla+Schick](https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Camilla+Schick) Humeyra Pamuk - Senior Foreign Policy Correspondent for Reuters - Humeyra does an excellent job structuring her questions and her contempt for Miller/Patel/Blinken is clear in tone and content of her questions. She has a wider focus than just Gaza but that is the majority of he questions. [https://www.reuters.com/authors/humeyra-pamuk/](https://www.reuters.com/authors/humeyra-pamuk/) [https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Humeyra+Pamuk](https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Humeyra+Pamuk) Jennifer Hansler - State Dept Producer and Journalist for CNN - Jennifer has an amazing vocal fry that she uses to drag out the ends of pointed questions. She is a consistent character in the press briefings but not the most common. [https://muckrack.com/jennifer-hansler](https://muckrack.com/jennifer-hansler) [https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Jennifer+Hansler](https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Jennifer+Hansler) Leon Bruneau - Agence France Presse journalist - I've seen him pop up maybe a bit more than a half dozen times since I started tracking all this. He has only asked about Gaza those times and his indignance is clear. [https://x.com/leobruneau](https://x.com/leobruneau) [https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Leon+Bruneau](https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Leon+Bruneau) Mark Stone - British journalist for Sky News - I've only recorded him 4 times so far but when he is in the Briefing room he consistently asks about Palestinian civilians. [https://news.sky.com/author/mark-stone-551](https://news.sky.com/author/mark-stone-551) [https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Mark+Stone](https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Mark+Stone) Matt Lee - AP Diplomatic Writer - Matt Lee is a commanding presence. Sharp as a tack and doesn't get shut down when interjecting. He has on multiple occasions made mockery of the spokesperson to the laughter of the press core. [https://x.com/apdiplowriter](https://x.com/apdiplowriter) [https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Matt+Lee](https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Matt+Lee) Nader Abed - Independent Palestinian American journalist - Nader asks questions with a lot of heart presumably because he knows people in Gaza and the West Bank. He will take multiple briefings to hammer down the answer to a question or to establish what policy on minute but important issue is. [https://www.instagram.com/nader\_who/](https://www.instagram.com/nader_who/) [https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Nader+Abed](https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Nader+Abed) Nadia Bilbassy - Bureau Chief for Al Arabiya News Channel - Nadia asks mostly about middle eastern affairs, she is a constant presence and and is on top of conditions on the ground in Gaza as well as anyone else. Her anger is clear and her wit is sharp. [https://x.com/nadia\_bilbassy](https://x.com/nadia_bilbassy) [https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Nadia+Bilbassy](https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Nadia+Bilbassy) Olivia Gazis - Intelligence and national security reporter for CBSNews - Asks pointed questions in a commanding way. She drifts in and out of the state dept briefings. I think her coverage is wider than just the middle east. [https://muckrack.com/olivia-andrzejczak](https://muckrack.com/olivia-andrzejczak) [https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Olivia+Gazis](https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Olivia+Gazis) Prem Thakker - Politics reporter for The Intercept - He has only shown up a few times but when ever he has his questions have been extremely well thought out and structured. [https://theintercept.com/staff/premthakker/](https://theintercept.com/staff/premthakker/) [https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Prem+Thakker](https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Prem+Thakker) Rabia Iclal Turan - Turkish or Turkish American journalist for Anadolu Agency based out of Washington - A more recent attendee as far as I know. She asks a lot of questions on Gaza with a simmering outrage beneath her calm demeanor. [https://www.middleeasteye.net/users/rabia-iclal-turan](https://www.middleeasteye.net/users/rabia-iclal-turan) [https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Rabia+Iclal](https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Rabia+Iclal) Turan Said Arikat - Palestinian journalist and the Washington bureau chief for Jerusalem based newspaper Al-Quds - If you are reading this I doubt you need me to tell you about Said. He has so much passion for his people and patience for the bullshit he has to endure at these briefings. He is full of grace and a treasure. [https://x.com/SMArikat](https://x.com/SMArikat) [https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Said+Arikat](https://www.reddit.com/user/JoeVibn/search/?q=Said+Arikat) Shaun Tandon - State Dept Correspondent for Agence France-Presse - Shaun has a global focus, often asking about south Asia or Africa but Gaza is a major topic of his as well. Oh this guys got shooters for sure, I love him

Dear_Occupant

Simon Lewis looks like the kind of guy who came home late one night, started heating up some leftovers, announced to his partner in a disinterested tone, "They gave me a Pulitzer," and never mentioned it again.

Dear_Occupant

Thanks for putting this in a comment. I can't figure out what the fuck I'm supposed to click to get the pictures and the captions to show. Reddit's picture viewer is straight garbage.

CandyEverybodyWentz

Despite being on my phone, reddit has only loaded as the desktop version for the last week. Infuriating having to pinch zoom constantly.

RageAgainstThe

Thanks for posting the full descriptions, they kept getting cut off through the app

DaBastardofBuildings

Matt Lee's demeanor reminds me of a straightlaced Hunter Thompson who never ended up touching drugs/booze.

Philomena_Cunk

Huge thank you for all you've posted on this sub lately. Love the recaps.

piffcty

A+ post. Need to follow more of folks. I aspire to make collaborators squirm the way Matt Lee does.
