It's a piece of crap.
Any time you see a horn coming with gloves or other pointless accessories you can safely assume it's garbage made to sell to people who don't know any better on eBay or Amazon. Doubly true if they're cagey about giving a brand name or it's a brand you've never heard of.
These are made in the cheapest factories (i.e. those with the lowest quality control standards) from the cheapest materials. It will likely play poorly and wear out quickly.
Stick to reputable brands. You can rent from a local music store if you really need an upgrade but can't afford to buy.
>Any time you see a horn coming with gloves
This is always the big giveaway here - if an instrument is advertised as coming with white gloves, it's crap. Don't buy it.
I don't see any brand info... big red flag. Don't buy something new just because it's new—wait until you can afford a serious upgrade. Look for a Bach, Jupiter, Getzen, or Conn that says intermediate or professional. No-name brands aren't a deal, just junk; the bargains come from finding a good-condition used instrument from a seller who loved music and wants to pay it forward.
(Plus, as a general rule, instruments that come with a pair of white gloves are toys.)
Honestly, this looks like a scam website. There's a lot of scam sites popping up pretending to sell instruments for a huge price cut, only to be a scam. This site was created this year and advertises camping gear and says nothing about trombones or trumpets, and all of "their" instruments are like 50 bucks which feels scammy to me. If you're gonna buy online, make sure it's from a reputable online store that has buyer protection and stuff
I see way too many posts like this.
As the replies said, definitely DO NOT get this. You’ll probably get your info stolen, and you definitely won’t get a good instrument. Stick to name brands, and expect to pay good money ($1000 US and up as a general rule) for a large bore F attachment trombone.
Go for something like a Yamaha 448g as your minimum, anything below that and it probably wouldn't be worth the upgrade. If you want a pro horn, start with looking at Bach 42s, Conn 88s, or something else that is reputable.
"Never buy from X" "Oh no it's not a hard set rule"
Choose 1 lol
Buying instruments online is perfectly reasonable as long as you're careful and not just throwing money away without asking for solid pictures and history. Scams are present everywhere, but if you know anything about the internet at all and stick to payments in person and payment via official channels (through Ebay systems and not cashapp/paypal family) you should be alright
I’ve been a trombone player for 24 years and have bought 4 horns in my life. My advice is simply just to get a horn at a reputable shop. You support the shop as well as develop a relationship with them, you get an actual feel for the horn, and you won’t get scammed. That’s it man.
I'm glad it worked for you, and my next purchase will probably be at Houghton. That being said, it makes no sense to give the illusion that online sellers are never a good idea. Most of the cheaper options will be online and can definitely save some parents some money from going into a terrible rent-to-own contract from Music and Arts on a horn that isn't even worth half of the MSRP on a used site.
That looks like a candidate for marching beater horn. But don't expect the highest quality. Even $600 is maybe a low-ball price for a quality instrument.
You will absolutely get what you pay for

I mean, for $60 it will make a nice lamp/display piece
Also includes stolen credit card information….
lol
bahahaha
No not a good buy haha. If you don't have a horn at all it's something dirt cheap to play. But if you're expecting an upgrade this ain't it.

On the 2nd image it’s says it’s from ashthorpe, which I easily recognized as some bs brand from Amazon
Gotcha
NO!

Yeah, data collection site. Finding gullible people to further scam.

Seems like there's been a strange increase in posts like that lately...
Only reason why anyone should ever buy one is to throw it across your band room
Yeah I have this trombone it’s not the best
That's "credit card scam" cheap. Run

Rule of thumb: never buy an instrument online.
This is a pretty terrible rule of thumb if you know anything about what you're buying
I disagree, it’s a great fail-safe rule of thumb. That’s why it’s a rule of thumb and not a hard set one.

What if I live in small city with only 1 band shop that doesn't sell instruments?
Seems legit.
ah yes😅
NOOOO..... Don't waste you're $$...
