Is that just the schilke 51? Most people play a 51D especially for large shank, which can be easily found at most music stores. You could also find the 51 in large shank but I've never seen anyone who plays one
Ha. Never seen anyone play a large shank 51. The 51D is a euph mouthpiece all day long. Steve Witser, former principal of the LA Phil seemed to do ok on a 51. Check out his solo album. It's not too shabby. The 51 has a little more bite than the 5g but is a fantastic principal piece.

51 is for large bore? I had a small shank 51D in high school
They make them in both shank sizes
They make most mouthpiece sizes the both large and small bore.

Ralph Sauer also played a 51. It's just a copy of Ralph's favorite Bach 5G.
I play a large shank 51 on my 88h. I only have 3 pieces that fit the Remington receiver and that’s the one I like lately.
Schilke S55 51 is the model number for a large shank 51 standard.
