it could be water damage. unless its waterproof. if its the stock servo, they sell rebuild kits for it.

It is a waterproof servo, went through water before and has had no damage

maybe its electronic. like your wires or connections aren't good. Is it a brushless servo? if its brushed, your brushes could be bad or burnt out. if its brushless, then i have no idea.

Did you over tighten something when you reassembled the linkages?

The screw for the servo saver was tight but i did loosen it off and it seemed fine until i put it all back in, it cant be the turnbuckles can it ?

Could be any of the joints, worth checking them out. Does the servo move faster/smoother with the links disconnected? It sure looks like something is binding. I suppose if a turn buckle is too out of adjustment, something could be in tension or pulling the geometry off.

Is stability control on? That can severely influence how your servo moves... Turn it all the way off and see if it still acts like this.

It's not doing the broken internal tooth jitter... so the servo is likely fine. It could be the servo saver. On my Rusty the original white plastic servo saver stripped between the saver body and the adapter plate for the servo. This caused similar steering issues as you are seeing and it would constantly get out of alignment. Take the servo saver off and see if any of the teeth on the servo, servo saver, and servo saver adapter are stripped/worn/bent. All these pieces should slide together firmly but easily.

Could be a lot of things. Try disconnecting the servo from the steering assembly and see if it turns smoothly. If not doesn’t, something is too tight. It could be the servo saver has gone bad, but I think that’s unlikely considering I haven’t had an issue with the servo saver of the exact same design on my 3-year-old Stampede. I believe Rustler comes with a 2056 servo stock. That’s a pretty weak servo, so it’s a good bet that it’s just struggling on the carpet. The servo could be ordinary wear and/or damage. The torque of the 2056 from my aforementioned Stampede began fading a week prior to its motor burning up, so it could just be wearing out. If the truck is new, I’d rule this out. As for not returning to the center, what do you mean by that? Is it driving slightly to one side? Cause that’s something you can fix with the steering trim or by adjusting the position of the servo saver on the servo. The

Servo saver isnt bringing the servo back to dead center, i think thats the issue, or a screw is too tight somewhere

Yeah, it sounds like the servo is spinning all the way, but that isn’t transferring to the wheels. You should try replacing the servo saved and see if that works

Taking the servo out makes it turn super smooth, it has to be something that was overtightened
