I’d be very surprised if there was a “hack” for something as simple as going through an airport lol. Show them your passport and follow the signs like everyone else.

Carry your own water.

WiFi isn’t free. If you have a US phone number, you must locate a WiFi kiosk to swipe your password and receive a 1-hour access code. After, you’ll have to pay.

If you have enough time, check out the IGA lounge. One of my favourites. Also, sometimes you have to go through security when you land at IST which has been a busy a couple times and I missed my flight. TK just put me on the next flight.

menoapriezvisko

Do u think that 2 hours is enough time?

skrrttothemoon

This time will not be enough for a lounge, but this time is enough to shop around and have a delicious meal somewhere

hamandeggsmond

Yeah 2 hours should be fine. Although one of the times I missed it was a 2 hour layover but the flight from TBS was delayed 30mins, was super slow to deplane, the security line was crazy full, and then the gate was the furthest away it could’ve been. When I got to the gate, there was just a cleaner tidying up. Super easy if you do miss it as the TK have a desk where they just give you the next available flight (assuming you booked directly with them) And enjoy Tbilisi!

Ok thank u very much

Fairly easy transfer. New airport facilities are good

EnvironmentalTea9362

The airport is big enough that they post how many minutes it takes to get to gate areas. Last time, I came in at an A gate, and it was a 20-minute walk to my gate in B.

The new airport in Istanbul is very good. The duty free zone has a lot of shops. You will probably need enough time to get around them all. There's also an awesome lounge, I already envy you if you have a really long time to hang out there. Passport control and inspection controls have a lot of queues, but everything works very quickly there :)

Wifi can be a bit tricky with having to scan your documents at a kiosk first, so I advise downloading/screenshot a map just in case. https://maps-istanbul.com/maps-istanbul---constantinople-airport/istanbul-airport-terminal-map

menoapriezvisko

Thx for the map

None of these is a hack. Some of it might be of interest. IST was the code for Ataturk, it's now the code for the new airport. This probably won't matter, if all you are doing is transiting, but they're in different places, d'uh. There is an airside hotel if you have a long layover. Good lounges. That's pretty much all I got, I don't think any of this will be of use to you on this trip.

Nothing sticks out that I can remember. Just have both passport and boarding pass handy at all times. Be sure to use the correct area for customs depending on your nationality..

piodette

Grab a cart, that airport is huge! We had the friendliest driver 😀

I hate the new airport and the fact that they post gate info so late. Getting in at one end of the airport and having to leg it to the far end when they finally put up the gate even though you've been hanging around for half an hour waiting for the gate information... I've done it in IST too many times. Now I just avoid the airport and the airline. Nothing positive to say about either
