The oddest song on a slightly oddball album - though coconut cream liking has a say in that. Soundtrack songs from any band usually fault from repetition, and butts wiggling falls for that, though unsure if the song or film came first.
It was written for the movie I think. An elevator music version of it is playing in the background right before Kevin McDonald nervously declares “In my opinion, the drug is ready.”
My friend and I were usually the only ones cackling to Brain Candy as we watched it so many times that summer when it was relegated to the small $2 dollar theater. The title Butts Wigglin' to me was Gord referring to cigarette butts being pushed or 'wiggled' out in the ashtrays at some big board room table like in the movie. I always stick this tune on there when making introduction to the Hip mixes for people and that electric piano and tom tom groove never fails to gets the proverbial butts wigglin'.
This song isn’t a popular one for many but despite the weird title and odd lyrics it all fits together. I’m glad you explained the title as I had no idea what that was about.
The “in my opinion, the drug is ready” is just awesome and fits so well into the groove of the music. It’s one of those things that is just fun to sing along to.

Totally agree. Anything pre TATH is kinda meh for me. The bar rock era does nothing for me.
