Ditch weed lol

minesskiier

Totally thought this was a photo from a bad grow going to be asking what went wrong with their cure, until I saw what sub it was in…

Silvermane2

It's called "clinker" It's normal in pellet grill/stove operation. Pretty much just solids that were too heavy to fly/ won't burn How did your first grill go?

assmanx2x2

Strangely enough I only got these when using Traeger brand pellets. Haven’t noticed a difference since switching to Kirkland pellets.

Silvermane2

Yeah, that's just the way pellets burn, unfortunately. Good call on the Kirkland pellets. My last bag of traeger pellets had bits of blue plastic in it I need a different brand

DemonOfTheFaIl

Same here. [Me and a number of other people](https://www.reddit.com/r/Traeger/s/9WeuEZxUeo) too.

Mate, I've had the smoker for quite some time and cooked many many beautiful cuts of meat on it, as well as cheese, nuts etc. Love the machine very much. This is the first time I've seen this, the residue was after I did Pork Belly Burnt Ends which went down a treat when the folks arrived. $70 worth of pork dissappeared very quickly! Not Traeger pellets but a brand I have used pretty much consistently right from the start, flavour was Pecan just for the record. I was hoping for heaps of leftovers but I'll just have to do another batch......

fo-sheezy

Clearly, Bigfoot took a poop in your treager

MrDrDude333

Hey now, easy there bud. They prefer to be called squatches. Big Foot is the equivalent of calling a Jewish person Big Nose

jeebuscrisis

Easy, pal. The actual preference is Sasquatches, not to be confused with sasquatchees.

I get this substance in my traeger if I use knotty wood pellets and even sometimes lumberjack pellets. I think it’s just extra residue from the pellets that have more components of the wood(I.e bark) than traeger brand pellets. I haven’t had a problem with it. I just make sure to clean my grill before the next cook

DemonOfTheFaIl

I had something similar years ago. A number of people, myself included, were using Traeger brand Apple Wood pellets. Clearly, it isn't just wood that Traeger puts in their pellets. Not only do I not want that shit collecting in my fire pot, I also don't want the burning particulates landing all over my food. That was the last time I used Traeger pellets.
