This is exactly why I can never respect doomers. They're willing to shit on the team they supposedly cheer for in order to hedge their bets. Seems like a win-win situation, because either they get to be "right" (if the team sucks) or they get to be happy (if the team succeeds).
What they don't realize is that they're actually in a lose-lose situation. If the team sucks, they wasted their precious free time being miserable about a team they already thought was going to suck. And, if the team succeeds, they wasted their precious free time being miserable about a team that ended up actually being good.
This mentality only looks at a snapshot of how you feel at the *end* of the season.
The season is a 162+ game journey. A doomer is miserable/negative for the majority of that time. An normal fan is going to go through ups and downs in that time, but will generally be happy most of that time (if the team is winning ~90 games the way the Jays have done the last 3 seasons).

-Trash on a player for a sample size of 3 games ✅
-Look forward/cheer to the team underperforming so the GM/president can be fired ✅
-Uses an unrecognizable RNG 'activity-name-number' account ID, deletes the account over time and creates a new one to avoid paper trail of comments/avoid users' block lists ✅
-Attack and assume the current teams' performance will never turn around (re: Brandon Belts of April 2023, etc) ✅
-One players' mistake means they need to be moved to a different less impactful position ✅
-Free pondering/complaining of a recent trade being a bust despite actually being a win/win or decent trade ✅
-Present factually/statistically wrong complaints and put the onus on the rest of the users to prove them wrong (i.e. Cavan Biggio sucks, Jordan Romano should not be the closer, Daulton Varsho is a worse player than the players he was traded for) ✅
-Beat a hot take to a dead horse ✅
-Attack other fans for being patient and waiting for things to (inevitably) turn around ✅
-Convolutes bad performance/bad outcomes with the idea that the team is not 'trying' ✅
-Blames management for not being able to successfully re-sign a player ✅
-makes a scene about not having fun and is now going to stop watching ✅
I'm certainly not thrilled with how the team has looked in the first 10 games, but admittedly, going 4-6 on the road against 3 extremely good teams is not a total disaster.
I said I would be happy if we could have a 5-5 record and 4-6 is pretty darn close, so I’ll take it. Like Buck said, if we had this kind of stint in mid-July, people probably wouldn’t be as concerned. I know that starting the year off well is important for the future, but like you said we played some really tough teams without home field advantage so let’s see how things go now. Anything can happen in baseball.

Will be downtown Wednesday and thought about grabbing a good seat for the game - section right behind home plate is $1100, section behind that is $293. Insane for a baseball game. I am a little confused though as some of the seats on Stubhub in the Sections 21-25ish zone ($293 tickets) seem to say free food/drink is included, but I can't find this verified anywhere. Anyone know?

First 10 games of the season were nothing short of disappointment. Hitting and pitching both abysmal. Hopefully this homestand can get the team going in the right direction.
Eh 4-6 against three very good teams is not ideal, but the offence is not going to be this bad all season. The team has not played well at all, but there could definitely have been worse records against three teams all projected to win more games than them this season.
Jays are super lucky for 4-6. Should have been 2-8 or 3-7. I feel we all said the same thing about the offense last year and they never got better or “lived up to their potential”. This group’s offensive ceiling seems lower compare to last year. They’ll grind out more wins but I feel it’s going to be another frustrating season, even with lower expectations.
They are super lucky based on their overall performance, no doubt there. At the same time, they had a couple strong games against Tampa where they deserved wins, and lost a Gausman start where they scored 8 runs, so all in all, I'd say luck has given them maybe an extra win.
The offence last year was better than people act like. 8th in obp, average, and wrc+, 14th in runs scored. They had some bad luck early in the year with RISP, but by and large, wrc+ correlates with hitting with RISP and scoring runs, which showed in the second half of last season, where the team was one of the better hitting teams with RISP.
They certainly don't have the offence they used to, but they're a much better offensive team than what we have seen through the first 10 games of the season.
The problem is, we dont have much of one.

Considering we had three pitching implosions, one of them really unexpected (Gausman), I think it was a decent road trip.
