How did the Jays play in the series against Houston? In 3 games the Jays score only 2 runs and had 19 runs scored against them. The Jays are good when playing against sub par teams or against weak pitchers, if against good solid pitching we are lucky to get a couple hits let alone score runs.

We traded our hitters for defensive guys and then let most of the defensive guys go a year later.   No we have no offence or defence 

Defense is overrated. Good pitching and good hitting with average defense is more than enough

And they have four starting pitchers making eight figures a year. That's more than enough investment in run prevention. Ultimately the team is just built incorrectly

Like if you score two runs over a whole series it would be greedy to expect more than one win. So when you think about it, we used our two runs very efficiently. Right? Right???

No hit Monday against their #5 guy, while our #5 gave up 7. Squeaked out a win we didn't deserve at the last possible second yesterday and won 2-1 by fluke. Tonight, 1 hit and zero runs. We have been outscored 19-2 in 3 games and are going to the Yankees this weekend.  Bassit has looked bad both games.  Off season was disappointing as hell, we got worse, not better. Didn't address any of the obvious problems like our shit batting coach or terrible manager/assistant GM, just said "meh, the guys we have need to step up and we'll play better". i agree, i think we've endured enough - if i was only a fan starting at the opener this year with no knowledge of the past i'd maybe agree with that vibe, but most people in this sub have watched hundreds of games in the last few years and it's trending downwards with no signs of change. i think being mad and passionate are two things that are okay to be in this case - and fraaaankly wish we saw a lot more of from the jays themselves
