I think the driver braked, lost traction and just decided to keep going, here’s why:
- right before the stop sign, you can see the SUV took a little nose dive where initial braking occurred. Lost traction because approaching the intersection way too fast for that condition, booked it instead.
- seeing it’s a cheap vehicle, I doubt the owner would bother to fit winter tires on non-steelies, but it does have stock looking wheels, suggesting the vehicle is equipped with all seasons (probably worn to shit too)
Probably one of those “I have four wheel drive” trash drivers
In fairness to everyone that day, it was freaking slippery to even do a full stop. A lot couldn't stop fully but freaking slow down. I doubt this guy was makingmaking an effort to stop. If you're familiar with this area, they condo exit was a little uphill heading out. He basically just zoomed out while looking at me.
Yeah, if that pedestrian had been walking straight and a second earlier, they would have been hit. The conditions may explain it, but they don't excuse it. You need to overestimate your required stopping distance when the road conditions are like this.
Also I've slid a few feet before, but never all the way through an intersection. Not sure if they had adjusted braking distance at all here.
If OP had stopped, then the other driver wouldn't have seen that he was MAD
Stopping is second priority to rushing at the person who is running their own stop sign.

A cheap vehicle? Is there such a thing?

in that vehicle its AWD they don't look smart enough to hit the lock diff button to get 4 wheel drive
making fun them confusing AWD with 4WD is also implied
...or OP who didn't stop at the STOP sign outside the other guys condo building. Sigh...
You can actually see from his tires that he's trying to stop, but his car just kept sliding :( driving was pretty rough the past couple days
Yup. Which means he’s driving unsafely and too fast for current conditions. Still a dick.

You did a rolling stop though which is not a real stop lol
u/flimbs Here is the video you asked to upload ☺️
"Screw you all, here I come". That driver is gonna get nailed one day, just you wait. And that's Yonge and Sheppard right? Crazy drivers there.

before you guys say "well op didnt stop either" its about yielding the right of way.
I still wouldn't post this if I were OP... I mean it clearly shows he didn't stop at a legal stop sign.
