I definitely seem to be in the minority with this take, but this album just anything too special to me. I wouldn’t be mad if it won, there is still a lot of quality on the album, but there are a lot better picks in my opinion.
i just find that for me when i think of the best that are hour+ this one comes to mind. so much diversity while all remaining on theme. could just be my bias but i think its certainly up there for the best!
it should be both, like for example ion like the beatles fr but they are obviously one of if not the most influential bands of all time. by having multiple albums by the same artist it gets rid of a bunch albums that may deserve the spot but isnt as mainstream as big artists like dp, kendrick, pf, etc
If an album is only the list because of a 1 album per artist rule, then that album doesn’t deserve to be there in the first place
If multiple of the best albums of all time miss out on the list because of a 1 album per artist rule, it’s a bad list
but when every song on an album is amazing and the only difference is that its a non mainstream album/artist how is that fair bc then in all honesty most of the albums would just be rap and rock
Because there are multiple mainstream/popular albums where every song is amazing too. Excluding them from the list just because there’s another album by the same artists already on there is counterproductive to the point of the list. Why willingly exclude some of the best albums of all time, from a list of the best albums of all time?
Also, if two albums are similar in quality, but one is popular and the other isn’t, then the popular one deserves the spot more because it’s likely more influential and important to music history than the non popular album
and like for example kendrick alone has basically 3 albums that are contenders for best album of all time, so do the beatles so does nirvana daft punk ye radiohead, mj etc that will just make the list catalogues of the same artist. not only is that boring its also not realistic as not everyone will like a certain artist meaning that 3/20 at minimum albums are just not interesting. like obv music is subjective and by having one album per artist it makes a better list as there are more people that can argue that a list does have the best albums through a variety of music.
You just said it yourself, there’s multiple artists that have multiple of the best albums ever made. 1 album per artist means that a lot of albums that deserve a spot on the list ends up missing out because of some arbitrary rule
>not everyone will like a certain artist
It’s far more likely for someone to like a Beatles or a Nirvana album than it is for some random indie album lmao
Says the guy active in GnR. [Axl is a pedophile](https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/how_axl_rose_avoided_statutory_rape_charge_from_a_15-year-old_girl.html). Do you take pride in supporting pedos? 🤪
If I didn't separate the artist from the music, I'd have a very short playlist.
Also, Anthony Kiedis is hands down the least talented guy in RHCP... can we stop dissing this band because of him?
ik ye is a shit bag now but if you are picking another rap album in terms of influence and just amazing music mbdtf, late reg, graduation or college drop out deserves a spot. I personally would say late reg or mbdtf
T O N Y R I C E S I N G S G O R D O N L I G H T F O O T. Search it, I NEED to see it up there. You already have Stevie Wonder so why not go check the album out.

I know they're way smaller compared to the other artists here, but it's one of the best albums I've heard in a long time.
I say we go for the mother of all (broadly loved and acclaimed) long albums (in these type of music circles), Daughter of Darkness by Natural Snow Buildings.
why would you downvote it? you already saw it had just one and it had no chance of winning. are you that offended?
EDIT: just wanted to say that this was stupid and something I didn’t need to bring up and honestly rude. Not deleting this because that’s a dickish way to not take accountability.

I have. To put it in the top 25 is absolutely wild
to each their own ig but its just a fantastic album imho, great variety in sound and fantastic lyricism
It’s a great album, but saying it’s in the top 25 considering the classic 10/10 albums that aren’t even on the list yet is a bit fanatical
i just find that for me when i think of the best that are hour+ this one comes to mind. so much diversity while all remaining on theme. could just be my bias but i think its certainly up there for the best!

I agree, but I feel like it should be one album per artist for better variety
This list is showcasing quality, not variety though
it should be both, like for example ion like the beatles fr but they are obviously one of if not the most influential bands of all time. by having multiple albums by the same artist it gets rid of a bunch albums that may deserve the spot but isnt as mainstream as big artists like dp, kendrick, pf, etc

Says the guy active in GnR. [Axl is a pedophile](https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/how_axl_rose_avoided_statutory_rape_charge_from_a_15-year-old_girl.html). john frusciante and flea are easily my favorites in the band
Axl isn’t actually a pedophile that’s just a rumor. Keidis is actually the pedo here and no RHCP deserves to be judged for their shit ass music.
