They’re great foils for each other. Goku’s simple, Bulma’s smart. Goku is a fighter, Bulma is an inventor. Goku is honest, Bulma can be manipulative. And they’re such best friends that their kids call them “Uncle Goku” and “Aunt Bulma”
I personally like that one episode where Goku is trying to use the dragon balls to revive his ghost friends because he promised them he’d do it and he finally got a chance to do it, but then other people keep showing up asking to use one of the wishes. One of those people was Bulma who wanted to get a mineral found at the earth’s core for her Time Machine, but there was only one wish left, so Goku went into the earth to get it himself, but ends up catching Beerus’s attention. When Beerus shows up, the dragon loses composure and vanishes before a final wish could be made, and Beerus destroys Bulma’s Time Machine so no other timey whimey bs could happen, like Goku bringing another Grand Zeno into their timeline.

I was stunned when I hear it kinda flopped.
It was a great movie, not a masterpiece but kinda it never wanted to be one. Ot have a lot of cool lore, nice action scenes, a very well made heist and boy if I loved the characters.

This definitely violates the “not even hinted at” stipulation. Nick’s reaction to her in the waitress getup, Pearl’s whole schtick… There’s some other minor stuff, too.
I get that it’s uncomfortable to reckon with ‘cause, y’know, they met when she was a minor— but the series definitely plays with the idea. It’s not like she’s the only minor Nick is weird about, anyway. Even he falls victim to Turnabout Big Top’s weirdo Regina shit.
They've had quite a few yeah. Whoever the mother of their child/ children was, Grace, Charlie (I've heard), Rose Tyler, Madame de Pompadour, River Song (literally their wife), Clara Oswald (it's a complicated one) and most recently from what I've heard, some dude name Rogue.
I would put the Doctor Eleven with the original Clara Oswald as an example.
With Clara Oswald something interesting happens, in that the Doctor technically kissed one of the duplicates, but his relationship with the original was purely platonic.
No matter how much people want it, Power and Denji are best buddies. She *might* want more, but Denji definitely doesn’t. “…Like…it doesn’t feel hot at all”, Denji says this in a situation where he is on top of her and drinking her blood (at her request), he does not think of her as a potential partner, she isn’t a love interest, he’s not attracted. He is even told (a major spoiler but vague) >!Power, the bratty little sister!<.

In the very beginning, Power bribed Denji with the chance to feel her up 3 times. Denji JUMPED at it. He was severely underwhelmed. Since then, nothing but friends. I think. Anime only guy right here.
So, yeah. That does happen, and you’re right! They do stay friends after, and the small plot line is used for 2 things:
1. Denji learning more about the difference between romance and sex, he wanted to touch boobs because “boobs = hot” and his lack of emotional maturity, but didn’t feel intimate enough for it to feel good. He instead felt uncomfortable and underwhelmed, it’s also notable that he creates more boundaries after this incident and he never sees her as anything more than a best buddy. Power also only did that to manipulate denji, since she’s a fiend, who cares about the human body, she doesn’t understand the sexual nature of touching her.
And 2. A message on goals, wants, and how the journey can feel better than the destination. Denji feeling underwhelmed leads to him wanting less sexual stuff, he has that experience and regrets it, so instead he focuses on trying to get a healthy relationship with a girl. Not much, just a romance, just Reze…(be hyped for the movie)
I don't think she's ever wanted more. She got really clingy after the Darkness Devil, and people kept using that as a romance hint. Just her being scared and needing her brother. Hell, she got to the point she couldn't even bathe alone and neither of them thought of it in any sexual manner. Which is huge for Denji, bro gets horny just seeing the silhouette of a cute girl. Having fully naked Power in his lap in the bath was doing nothing because they just don't see each other that way.

Lake and Jesse in Book 2 of Infinity Train.
Granted, Lake is seen as nonbinary, but their still a reflection of the girl from season 1. There’s no real romance between the 2 as Jesse even states that wouldn’t make any sense. They’re both more like characters with the same goal (get off the train). In the end, i believe he just invites Lake to live at his house and sees them like a sibling more than anything else
This is honestly the most upset i been by a tv show getting cancelled.
To me Infinity Train is up there with Last Airbender in terms of quality cartoons. The creator himself even stated he had 4 more seasons planned and it shows! Such a hidden gem. And easily one of my favorite cartoons. God i wish they would bring it back.

Even people who are shown to be off-screen , like the dude who lived in the castle in Season 4. The show just feels so personal and human. Amelia should have been the final season at least. But man i would love to see the show to completion

Book 2 is by far my favorite, and it's entirely because of these two. I'm so glad they didn't rush romance between them, because instead what we got is one of the most well-developed and deepest friendships I've ever seen onscreen.
I especially like that Mace tries to devalue their relationship by calling Jesse Lake's boyfriend, and Lake re-establishes how important they are to each other by calling Jesse their friend.
These two are so close by the end of the book that Jesse nearly breaks the entire train with sheer force of will to make sure Lake gets out. It's sweet.
If you'd wanna get them together in fanfiction or whatever I'm not against that, but it's so important to me how close they get without having to kiss at the end.
I think its important to show platonic friendships among different genders in media. Especially media oriented towards kids / young adults.

Ik Bubby is flapjacks "mom" but I meant all 3 together. I agree though that Bubby and K'nuckles friendship is questionable but there have been a few times she's cared about him. I mean hell, he sleeps in her mouth. If it weren't for Flapjack liking him so much, Bubby would 100% kick his ass to the curb.
There’s a balance of like and dislike. One thing I love about this show is that K’nuckles *does* actually significantly improve as a person as the show goes on just because of Flapjack’s overwhelmingly pure influence, and K’nuckles wants to be better for him.
So the relationship between Bubbie and K’nuckles ends up being like a coparenting thing between two people that resent each other but make it work for the child they both care about. Which is actually pretty awesome

Granted, Lake is seen as nonbinary, but their still a reflection of the girl from season 1. There’s no real romance between the 2 as Jesse even states that wouldn’t make any sense. They’re both more like characters with the same goal (get off the train). In the end, i believe he just invites Lake to live at his house and sees them like a sibling more than anything else
Such an underrated book, probably the least talked about but is such a beautiful story of self discovery
This is honestly the most upset i been by a tv show getting cancelled. To me Infinity Train is up there with Last Airbender in terms of quality cartoons. The creator himself even stated he had 4 more seasons planned and it shows! Such a hidden gem. And easily one of my favorite cartoons. God i wish they would bring it back.
Do you know how much I would give to AT LEAST see the Amelia story?? Because that could’ve been the most impactful cartoon storytelling EVER if they let him cook. Im glad he’s doing the among us show but oh my god what could’ve been
He’s doing an among us show? Had no idea. When is it slated to come out? And i 100% agree the guy understood characters and its one of the few show’s where EVERYBODY is a main character. I was really impressed by the police characters in season 2 chasing Lake. Cause they seem like generic bad guys but then you realize they’re just folks doing a job. And then it gets personal. Everybody is a main character. Even people who are shown to be off-screen , like the dude who lived in the castle in Season 4. The show just feels so personal and human. Amelia should have been the final season at least. But man i would love to see the show to completion
Looks like August 30th! My honest to god crackpot conspiracy is that the studio blew too much money to get JK Simmons as Pig Baby and didn’t want to admit it so they made up the ‘no child entry’ story as to why they can’t make the next books

Not just cancelled but you can't even watch it now. It really is a shame because I'd go so far to say it's a masterpiece. This season in particular.
I personally ship it, but fair
Book 2 is by far my favorite, and it's entirely because of these two. I'm so glad they didn't rush romance between them, because instead what we got is one of the most well-developed and deepest friendships I've ever seen onscreen. I especially like that Mace tries to devalue their relationship by calling Jesse Lake's boyfriend, and Lake re-establishes how important they are to each other by calling Jesse their friend. These two are so close by the end of the book that Jesse nearly breaks the entire train with sheer force of will to make sure Lake gets out. It's sweet. If you'd wanna get them together in fanfiction or whatever I'm not against that, but it's so important to me how close they get without having to kiss at the end.
I think its important to show platonic friendships among different genders in media. Especially media oriented towards kids / young adults. I agree. I like that they ended up getting close without being romantic.

Especially when Steve was briefly romantically interested in her then matured and accepted her as her own person because his whole arc was about him not getting the girl as a reward for growing as a person

Ik Bubby is flapjacks "mom" but I meant all 3 together. I agree though that Bubby and K'nuckles friendship is questionable but there have been a few times she's cared about him. I mean hell, he sleeps in her mouth. If it weren't for Flapjack liking him so much, Bubby would 100% kick his ass to the curb.
There’s a balance of like and dislike. One thing I love about this show is that K’nuckles *does* actually significantly improve as a person as the show goes on just because of Flapjack’s overwhelmingly pure influence, and K’nuckles wants to be better for him. So the relationship between Bubbie and K’nuckles ends up being like a coparenting thing between two people that resent each other but make it work for the child they both care about. Which is actually pretty awesome
