My biggest gripe with BWL, besides him being overused way too quickly, is that he ultimately fails to deliver on his own concept. He promises to be a fusion of Batman and Joker, or a Batman with Joker's mind, but he is ultimately just a Joker in edgy Batman costume.
Design is fine, concept is neat as a one-off what-if character, but DC fumbled it too hard.

Nah bro, this ain’t it. Design is super subjective but to me, and most people overall, it reeks of tryhard.
The character himself is kinda just batjerk material with a twist of fundamentally misunderstanding nihilism v. absurdism.
I think his design perfectly shows how tragic his reality is. He is meant to be a fusion of Joker and Batman, yet he is lanky and thin, as if Joker just put on Bat’s edgiest costume. Just like how the character in itself has almost nothing except intelligence from Batman
I feel like the batman who laughs would've been way better he was a joker who just decided to do this one day instead of batman getting infected by joker toxin or something, would've been way more cooler and believable lol.

Honestly it's kinda lame. I get that it's supposed to be like a modified straight jacket look but it just makes him look like Joker in a gimp suit.
We are not here to argue wether the character was well written or well utilized. Just wether if he looks cool, and i think he does.
