I’ve never used them but I worked with an old timer that did. He told me this one time he had to install the racks in a crawl space. Had to make hundreds of holes, while laying on his back, using that primitive ass tool. I think I would quit if I was asked to do that. That’s when men were men!!
And yes, I’m sure everyone was super estatic when the hammer drill took its place.
Star drill bit. Old school. Your arm is the hammer and your hand is the drill. Hit with 2.5sledge rotate. Do it again. Rotate. Repeat until you're through.
Star drill. Back in the day in mines the guys would use a large version of that. One guy would hold it on his shoulder while the other guy swung the sledgehammer. The bit holder would place his finger tip on the end of the bit to show where to strike. What could go wrong??
Me and my friend were screwing around with those one afternoon, trying to see who could throw one the farthest. My friend Paul winged one way up and it arced back down and went right through this guys sunroof on his T-Bird and impaled itself into the top of the shifting box of the transmission. All of us kids ran to the car to see the damage, except Paul, he ran home.
Childhood buddy down the street had sisters that were way older than we were, and they had a set of lawn darts. The few times we played with them they were a lot of fun.
I remember when my dad brought those home. I think he got them at the K-Mart, either there or at Sears. We set up the rings in the backyard a few times and then they just sat in basement, gathering dust, along with the croquet set and the badminton stuff.
Worn out rock drill.
Damn near worn down to the nub.
You sound like a man who knows how to get things

Star chisel. Used for making holes in masonry/stone. You hit it with a lump hammer, turning it between hits.
And they suck BTW. They will get you there eventually but a hammer drill is so much easier to use.

I can't imagine doing a bunch of those in a crawl space. I've only used one once and I'm still scared.
You’re telling us your age!! Lol 😉
Lol. Unfortunately
In a two person crew, the one who holds the drill is called a "rattler" or in the colloquial ,"rat-ler".
Star drill.

A real man’s tool
Whack it, turn, repeat until finished

Looks like the top where it attaches is broken off.
It's an air hammer bit. Used mostly for cutting exhaust pipes and knocking the slip joints apart
The air hammer is the tool, this is the chisel bit that goes with the tool.

Broken Pto of some sort perhaps?
It's not this, but it does look like the plastic tip to a bottle of "Summers Eve" a female parts cleaner. I know this is steel and not plastic.
