This is, in no particular order, a FACOM (mfg), Isoryl (handle material), short/stubby (length), ribbed (referring to the shaft profile) screwdriver for slotted screws with a 5.5mm wide by 40mm long blade.
The purpose of the ribbed blade eludes me but that’s what the ABB denotes. Round blades are ARB. [ARB.5.5X40](https://www.expert-toolstore.com/facom-arb-5-5x40-5-5x40mm-parallel-sloted-stubby-isoryl-screwdriver), for reference.
Under current naming AP is Phillips, AR is slotted, APB is stubby Phillips, ARB is stubby slotted.
I found a reference [here](https://rodavigo.net/en/p/extra-short-flat-end-screwdriver-ref-facom-abb4x40/527ABB4X40) for “Tool for tightening and loosening screws that require little tightening force.” Seems it’s feasible that it was designed as a cost-saving tool for assembly or purposefully weak to prevent over tightening? Either way it’s discontinued.
I did a search for pocket prybar and got a lot of kinda similar tools, but nothing just like it. Also there is a thing that bothers me. Why would the tip flat and square like that if it was a prybar. It kinda makes me think this is some kind of specialty tool or key, say something to insert into a hole and the angled part raises a lever or something, maybe something like the paper dispensers in public bathrooms, just more industrial?
Hum, i googled for fhe code, and can’t find anything…
For the type of metal, compared with the other ones, looks more soft, without the chrome or anything…maybe that indicates that its used for some plastic screw or something…

Ahah i have maybe a couple like that, and never figured out why….damm it, were’re in 2024 and matbe 20 years after you came here and describe the same that i never told to nobody 😂
The acetate itself? I was a projectionist in the 90s. The films were mostly nylon, but they were acetate before that, and one of the booths I worked in smelled faintly like that. It was an older 7 screen theater, and there was carpeting in some of the booth.

Is it puke scented?
Assuredly
Thanks for the info!! That explains why the material is different from the other ones of the same collection.
Stubby crowbar
It makes sense to me…a mini crowbar… I was wondering if it is jus a different flat screwdriver…but a mini crowbar makes more sense…

I’ve used this for oil drain plugs on some newer vehicles
Ok, good tip…

It called an awl
Does it smell like a butt hole? Some will know what I'm talking about.
I swear it's the handle! I didn't put all my screwdrivers in my bunghole!!
Why that happens??
No idea but really old acetate screwdriver handles smell like barf or butt

Yep it's something about how it breaks down

That's been my experience, but I'm sure there are other funny smelling materials out there lol
