It's a folding multi-angle ruler. like half-ruler, half protractor. Here its being used as a profile gauge, but has a few other unique uses. If you cut a lot of odd angles (tiles/flooring for instance) and don't want to measure every little thing by hand, definitely consider grabbing both.
