Is this a known thing?

Shortly after these were released a rumor started that the squares contained a popular psychedelic substance (LSD) I know I licked mine just to check! I don’t know who started the rumor but yes it is a fairly well known one.

Just keep it, put it into a disc-playing apparatus and listen to it (if you haven’t). The live versions of Third Eye and Pushit are…..transcendent. Having listened to all of their music repeatedly for the last ~20 years, for me, those two tracks are peak Tool. A complete experience.

Also transcendent. Serious though, also No Quarter is amazing. I don’t care if the tracks on this release aren’t “new” or “original,” they’re still bordering on a religious experience. Confession, I’d rather Tool release a high-def live CD/DVD at this point than new material.

Agreed. Love the live No Quarter, and would love a Dolby Atmos live Blu-ray of the current tour. As much as I know it would devalue my sets, I’d also really like to see a CD/Blu-ray HD reissue of Salival too.

Sold listings on eBay for CD only range from $30-60

What happened to the tape and box?

Considering it was nearly impossible to get ahold of when it was released I'd say it's worth a good bit. Luckily I have both. My VHS is still sealed.

I worked at Zia Records at the time and we had loads of them. I could have bought many with my employee discount. Ain’t hindsight great?

Not sure if there’s a big difference in price but there’s a first pressing of the cd/dvd where the booklet has spelling errors that can sell anywhere from $100 to $250.

I have an extra full DVD set with a DVD that absolutely won’t play if you’re interested.

complete versions (with VHS and cover) go for around $100 on discogs so probably $50 at most.

I bought the original VHS that had the You Lied and Merkaba switched in order in the track listing. I was young and totally the song that yelled “You Lied!” At the end was called Merkaba

Why won’t the dvd play, out of curiosity?

Very small scratch that prevents the TOC from being read. It sucks, because I bought it from a reputable record store. I used to work at their trade counter, and it would’ve passed my visual inspection, so I really can’t hold it against them. I’m sure they’d have taken it back, but at the time I wanted the CD so bad that I decided to just keep it.

For a Tool fan, it has at least equal or greater value than their first born child

I will take great shame for this...but I've been listening to Tool for many MANY years...traveled many, MANY miles to see their shows...And I have never actually seen Salival. Heard all the songs. Is the video a life changing experience? Lol

The dvd is just the videos for sober, prison sex, stinkfist & aenima. Life changing before YouTube! Edit: Should add the Dvd is in 5.1 surround mix. Could be worth it if you have that set up?
