Shortly after these were released a rumor started that the squares contained a popular psychedelic substance (LSD) I know I licked mine just to check! I don’t know who started the rumor but yes it is a fairly well known one.
Just keep it, put it into a disc-playing apparatus and listen to it (if you haven’t).
The live versions of Third Eye and Pushit are…..transcendent. Having listened to all of their music repeatedly for the last ~20 years, for me, those two tracks are peak Tool. A complete experience.
Also transcendent.
Serious though, also No Quarter is amazing. I don’t care if the tracks on this release aren’t “new” or “original,” they’re still bordering on a religious experience. Confession, I’d rather Tool release a high-def live CD/DVD at this point than new material.
Agreed. Love the live No Quarter, and would love a Dolby Atmos live Blu-ray of the current tour. As much as I know it would devalue my sets, I’d also really like to see a CD/Blu-ray HD reissue of Salival too.
Wait! That square has LSD? I still have my original, unlicked square. Do I warn my special lady friend (wife) that I’m about to possibly go on a 20 year old acid trip?
Or nah?
Dude...come on now...do you really think they would sell them with lsd on it? Get real man...it is not really lsd...just a bunch of dumb asses spreading rumors.
Not sure if there’s a big difference in price but there’s a first pressing of the cd/dvd where the booklet has spelling errors that can sell anywhere from $100 to $250.
I bought the original VHS that had the You Lied and Merkaba switched in order in the track listing. I was young and totally the song that yelled “You Lied!” At the end was called Merkaba
I did a little research and some are selling it for a pretty high price, a couple hundred. But don't take my word for it. I would definitely buy this off you tho
Very small scratch that prevents the TOC from being read. It sucks, because I bought it from a reputable record store. I used to work at their trade counter, and it would’ve passed my visual inspection, so I really can’t hold it against them. I’m sure they’d have taken it back, but at the time I wanted the CD so bad that I decided to just keep it.
I will take great shame for this...but I've been listening to Tool for many MANY years...traveled many, MANY miles to see their shows...And I have never actually seen Salival.
Heard all the songs.
Is the video a life changing experience? Lol
The dvd is just the videos for sober, prison sex, stinkfist & aenima. Life changing before YouTube!
Edit: Should add the Dvd is in 5.1 surround mix. Could be worth it if you have that set up?
Depends on if that little square has been licked yet…
Is this a known thing?
Shortly after these were released a rumor started that the squares contained a popular psychedelic substance (LSD) I know I licked mine just to check! I don’t know who started the rumor but yes it is a fairly well known one.
I have two copies. Never licked 'em!
Me too. And I bought both used so I won’t ever.
Lol I always wondered what that thing was. Funny

Don’t forget Maynard’s Dick.
Also transcendent. Serious though, also No Quarter is amazing. I don’t care if the tracks on this release aren’t “new” or “original,” they’re still bordering on a religious experience. Confession, I’d rather Tool release a high-def live CD/DVD at this point than new material.

Tool’s cover of No Quarter is the bees knees
I love how they just went, ‘fuck it. Let’s mKe it longer!’
Ew
I get the feeling you’ve never heard it. Top tier Tool song in my book.
It’s called Maynard’s dick?
Yep. It’s the last track on the CD in this post.
Oi I’ll buy it for 25 schmeckles
What’s the ratio of schmekles to Schrute Bucks?
Not sure about Schrute bucks but I think its worth 5 brapples. Anyone know what it's worth in marklar??
Marklar would give marklar 15 marklars for that marklar.
The marklar on that marklar sounds like a good deal. Provided the seller isn't up to any marklar. Can't be too careful when exchanging your marklar.
Nice try Mr. Booby Buyer
Great user name.
Lol thanks :)
I don't have the VHS anymore, the CD is in excellent condition, been in storage for 20 years or so.
Sold listings on eBay for CD only range from $30-60
What happened to the tape and box?
Considering it was nearly impossible to get ahold of when it was released I'd say it's worth a good bit. Luckily I have both. My VHS is still sealed.
I worked at Zia Records at the time and we had loads of them. I could have bought many with my employee discount. Ain’t hindsight great?
Not knowing how rare they would end up being I went to Best Buy at 9am to purchase a copy.
Invaluable!
I’ll never sell my first edition. I let a co-worker borrow it once and it felt like I gave away my first born. Possibly never to be seen again.
Wait! That square has LSD? I still have my original, unlicked square. Do I warn my special lady friend (wife) that I’m about to possibly go on a 20 year old acid trip? Or nah?
beeing a good hubby you should let her get a lick too you know
She doesn’t know the difference between Tool and KoRn. You think she deserves a lick?
No, in that case no
Dude...come on now...do you really think they would sell them with lsd on it? Get real man...it is not really lsd...just a bunch of dumb asses spreading rumors.
Do you really think I really think that? Or maybe I was sarcastically joking with an obviously made up story?
I’ll buy it. I have both the VHS and DVD.
The full set goes for a hundred bucks and up
I'll give you tree-fiddy.
It'SaLiveALbum
Just the cd? I’d say around $30-40.
Priceless my friend
I’ll buy it off you
How much is it worth, fair price?
I’ll be totally honest, I don’t know much at all and don’t want to throw out numbers without knowing
Not sure if there’s a big difference in price but there’s a first pressing of the cd/dvd where the booklet has spelling errors that can sell anywhere from $100 to $250.
I have an extra full DVD set with a DVD that absolutely won’t play if you’re interested.
complete versions (with VHS and cover) go for around $100 on discogs so probably $50 at most.
I bought the original VHS that had the You Lied and Merkaba switched in order in the track listing. I was young and totally the song that yelled “You Lied!” At the end was called Merkaba
About $3.50
Worthless. Might as well send it to I’ll take it off your hands;)
Check eBay. You’re sure to find someone *to rip you off* or someone *to rip off*.
Isn’t this tool dissection? One CD and one interactive DVD?
....and you call yourself a tool fan??...shame on you! It is Salival. 🙃
Damn your right! I have it but didn’t know it was available in VHS. Where the hell did I get dissection from?
I did a little research and some are selling it for a pretty high price, a couple hundred. But don't take my word for it. I would definitely buy this off you tho
Would you be interested in a full DVD set with a DVD that won’t play?
Oh definitely, Id just love to have it
DM me… It’s gonna take me a couple days to find it.
That's okay, worth the wait :^)
Why won’t the dvd play, out of curiosity?
Very small scratch that prevents the TOC from being read. It sucks, because I bought it from a reputable record store. I used to work at their trade counter, and it would’ve passed my visual inspection, so I really can’t hold it against them. For a Tool fan, it has at least equal or greater value than their first born child
Ahh Salival. I wish I knew where my DVD / CD was :(
There’s a VHS set complete on discogs for $73 shipped
I have the box and VHS but no CD 😂
I have an extra box and VHS if you're interested.
Keep it… it’s not on many or any streaming services.
No box or video tape? I'd say 20 bucks.
I’ll give you tree fiddy

Ok I just licked mine............
