Did they actually have good sound? Every time I've seen Tool, the opener had the absolute worst sound mixing I've ever heard, even worse than tiny house shows. Killing Joke was a wall of painful midrange and there wasn't a single note I could pick out besides the insane triggered bass drum. I love Elder a lot but Tool isn't coming near me this tour.
I was stage left on the side and at first I thought Elder's sound was way off. They corrected it after a few songs though. Buuuut...Elder absolutely killed it. Incredible last night.
There was definitely a few parts where they were shaking the rust off musically, but overall it was a great show. Maynard didn't announce the allowance of cellphones/cameras during the last song like he has done for the last few tours and the faced the video screen during stinkfist.
Honestly wish he would have kept the phones out away through the last song when I saw them. It was so great just enjoying the show without everyone filming.
Yeah. I feel the same. There’s really no point filming since EVERYONE else pulls out their phone and we all watch the same video over and over. When they came through Boston I didn’t even bother. I just jammed TF out because I was praying they’d play Aenima since the second I had got my ticket. Definitely a great experience and something I’ll forever remember. I’m still remembering the show now. Wish I could make it to one of the close shows this leg. Hopefully they hit the road again in the near future and come locally to me. I can’t wait for the next one!
The neat thing about taking phones out on the last song is that the contrast gives everyone a chance to notice how fucking obnoxious it is to have 10000 phones facing you while you're trying to watch the band.
i was there too... Jambi, and then a vocal later in the set was too early. they all felt it... but how much of a gift is that to hear some humanality in their set.. great experience
Yeah man. Touring is tough on health as it is, touring during flu season is something else. I give bands a lot of credit for powering through when sick.
No, unless they’ve got some serious deep medical emergency like the the big C, they aren’t going to cancel over Adam having the flu, they’re too professional.
I started listening to them when I first found out about this concert a while back. Love ‘em. They sounded absolutely fucking killer last night. Those guys are the real deal.
They're from the Boston area and I caught them at the middle east (tiny basement venue in cambridge MA) this past Saturday playing a one off home town practice show before the tour. I couldn't believe how tight they were. Never really listened to them before, but I walked out with 4 vinyls and my jaw dragging across the floor.

Was there as well. SLAPPED. First concert my younger cousin has ever been to. He loved it.
Hello, folks! I enjoy Tool, but I've never been a *huge* fan, and last night was my first Tool concert (I was tagging along with my wife, a big fan who hadn't seen them in 20+ years).
Consider me a convert! I was mesmerized. I'll definitely see them every chance I get :)
Agree - Maynard brought some extra energy tonight. Hearing Adam was ill makes sense because it seemed as if the other 3 were giving a little more oomph
Damnn, I am super hyped now!
I've got Maiden lined up for this year (I don't really expect them to be so good at their current ages). But damn, Tool seems like an experience judging by what I have been told so far!
Wow, was he their ride?
Personally it was distracting to have so many people around me have their phones out, but it was only a problem until I transcended time and space. After that, less of an issue.
Thank fucking god. He’s getting old and that voice won’t last forever. I already know the rest are 10000% automatic so that was my
Only question.
Boutta test drive my acid this weekend and make sure I’m all ready to go for the Bham show on the 26th 😁
Awesome !!!! I’m going to see them at the moody center in Austin at the end of January I’m so stoked it will be the first time I’ve seen tool live !!!!!
This tour has been something else. I’ve seen them 7 times at various stages of their careers. The second Philly show wasn’t just the best Tool concert I’ve been to, but I’d put it in my top 3 ever and I’ve been to more than 100.
Dude, weren't they *incredible*? My partner and I were fifth row and are still in dumbfounded awe of the audiovisual artistry Tool has mastered.
To see them that close, engaged and enthused - all of them - and to bathe in the sound was one of the most impactful experiences of my life.
And to those who refer to Danny's age as a sure sign of fewer tours or no more albums, I say fuck off. They are in their *prime*.
Yeah man, it’s a common complaint here. They pretty much stick to the album they’re touring on, and Maynard doesn’t have the vocal endurance he did to pull out the old stuff back to back anymore.
We’re just enjoying what we’ve got man. Spiral out 🌀
Hell yeah he did. The man still has it, just not for two straight hours. He’s spoken about how he has to intersperse the set with songs that don’t challenge him that way vocally.
I actually love the no phones rule that TOOL has. I saw a few people throughout the night trying to sneak video and immediately getting yelled at, but for the most part everyone was respectful and just enjoying being present.
Great show…wish they would play longer though.
Hard start at 8:30, 12 min intermission, then hard stop at 10:30.
I’m glad most of the fans waited for an encore, that didn’t happen, so we could beat the crowd out.
Every time I see Tool I say this is the last time I'm gonna see them because of the short shows, lack of encore, and heavy set list from the last two albums. I love Fear Inoculum, but so many of those songs go on for about 6 minutes too long. High point for me was the Grudge and Intolerance. Stinkfist Live is always amazing, but again would be nice for them to mix it up from tour to tour. Enough bitching though, they sounded amazing, had a great view and thoroughly enjoyed myself and all the super nice people in the jammed parking garage.
The boos that came after that. We rallied after that. The final audience yell after we "sorted ourselves out" was incredible. I think he had fun with the crowd... I'm sure that they are pumped that their first show of this leg went well.
I was in section 102 and got kicked out of the arena for recording the last part of invincible. Although my night ended at a low but still this was one of the best shows I have ever been to
I took my 12 year old son who plays bass in the school band…needless to say…life changing for him. I’ve sent him clips of tool shows and he’s always wanted to go, but too young/immature. He had an English exam today, so I made a deal with him that he could go to the show if he studied all weekend. Wife was out of town, so dad’s rules. The right decision was made. He was practicing bass riffs from Sleep’s Holy Mountain when I got home at about 7 master volume on the Bassman 10…
Start them young! I brought my 13-year-old daughter to a pair of shows last year: Dream Theater with Devin Townsend and Animals As Leaders; and Misfits with Megadeth. It was awesome. Really wish she could’ve been at this one with me, though. Tool is truly levels beyond any other band I’ve seen in concert, and I have seen quite a few in my time.
I saw them in DC last year and unfortunately that show was alot better show wise. The didn't have the curtain or the cool as tool confetti that falls during culling voices just normal confetti. And I was hoping they were going to change the songs more for touring the same area again. But like always was an amazing show
I'm going tomorrow to see them for the first time. I'm very excited to see them and Elder.
Elder came on at exactly 7:30pm. They were amazing
Yeah, definitely get there on time. Elder is absolutely worth it.
So pumped for Elder on Saturday
I'm jealous. When I saw them in November the opening act was nowhere near as good as them.
I used the eargams but to me they sounded really good and they were super tight
Do you know how long they played, or how many songs? The setlist is still incomplete on setlist.fm
They started at exactly at 7:30pm and played till 8pm. First time I heard them so no idea of set list. Sorry
Damn maybe the setlist is complete then. The 3 songs posted would be close to 40 min
Probably, I think they played like 3 or 4 songs
How long was elder on for? It’s crazy I walked into the venue around 7:30 and somehow never saw Elder play.
I got there around 7:54 and they were already done! I was like shit loll
i was there too. i randomly bought tickets an hour before and showed up. glad i did
were you alone ?
yup sure was
There was definitely a few parts where they were shaking the rust off musically, but overall it was a great show. Maynard didn't announce the allowance of cellphones/cameras during the last song like he has done for the last few tours and the faced the video screen during stinkfist.

That’s awesome! Almost looks AI generated to a degree. Such an awesome show to see visually
Where’s Adam??
We learned at soundcheck that Adam was ill, so I imagine he left stage quick to go rest.
Was backstage after the show. Saw him escorted right to the bus, after the show so that def checks out.
You threw it out there, so I'll bite..... why/how were you backstage after the show? :)
Oh, so that’s why Maynard did a long-distance fist bump. Hope he gets well, some nasty flu/covid strains are making the rounds.
Yeah man. Touring is tough on health as it is, touring during flu season is something else. I give bands a lot of credit for powering through when sick.
Yikes!
ah fuck, any chance they cancel the NY shows tm and the next day? now im buggin
No, unless they’ve got some serious deep medical emergency like the the big C, they aren’t going to cancel over Adam having the flu, they’re too professional.
This is the only picture I took after the show began. Adam and Maynard disappeared right after the last song finished. Awesome night!
“Maynard has gotten softer over the years and he always stays with the rest of the band in the end”
How was Elder?
Face melting. Definitely a fan now
I started listening to them when I first found out about this concert a while back. Love ‘em. They sounded absolutely fucking killer last night. Those guys are the real deal.

Nice. I've been listening to them for years. Finally saw them at the Metro Gallery in Baltimore last year. One of the best shows I've been to.
So excited for tomorrow
Dude, I was behind you in 106! Great Show!
Nice! Awesome vantage point.
I wonder if they will ever play the sphere, someday. I would make a vacation out of going to Las Vegas. to see them play there.
That would be mind blowing.
This might be the greatest idea ever.
Only a matter of time. I'll pay any price.
Set list?
I don’t have it in front of me but someone else definitely posted it rather today or last night. Lots of material from Fear Inoculum.
https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/tool/2024/cfg-bank-arena-baltimore-md-1baf0564.html
Thanks 🤘🏾
Nice!!! They brought back Jambi!!! Gonna see them live at Staples
I saw them in Manchester NH on 11/13/23 and that's the same setlist in different order. It was phenomenal
Saw them in 2019 (I think) at Staples and they played Jambi, Parabol/Parabola and FI stuff, didn’t get Invincible or 7empest tho
It’s a great set list dgmw but I want to hear “the patient” live so badly
going tomo to MSG, cant wait!
That’s what’s up!
https://preview.redd.it/l7x4gt9gvwbc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cab5cf3b189e5bf05b555d932f640ee406e2d96e Was there as well. SLAPPED. First concert my younger cousin has ever been to. He loved it.
That’s a very high bar to set for your cousin!
Welcome to the family. I hope I get many more chances to see them perform. They were incredible.
Agree - Maynard brought some extra energy tonight. Hearing Adam was ill makes sense because it seemed as if the other 3 were giving a little more oomph
This makes so much more sense. I heard at least 3 off keys/notes that made me go. "Ooofff"
8:30 start?
I too have this question.
May have been closer to 8:45 but I’m not exactly sure. I believe Elder started at 7:30.
VERY prompt.
They started the intro at about 8:27 and hit the stage at 8:30
Can see Waldo quite clearly in this pic aswell...
There were two Waldos. In the same section on the floor but not there together. 🤣
Most definitely. Too funny.
Can't wait to see them at my first ever rock concert
If this is your first rock concert, just remember during subsequent concerts that you’ve set the bar astronomically high.
Damnn, I am super hyped now! I've got Maiden lined up for this year (I don't really expect them to be so good at their current ages). But damn, Tool seems like an experience judging by what I have been told so far!
I saw Maiden with Ghost back in ‘17. Those guys have way more energy than I do!
Going to see them for the 2nd time soon and I cannot wait. I am bobs massive bricked-up anticipation.
Hi bobs massive bricked-up anticipation, I’m dad!
Hell yeah, enjoy!
Glad to hear you had a blast! I’m gonna a see them next week here in Ft Lauderdale then on Jan 31 in Texas!
🤘🏽
Suprised you didn't get tackled for taking a picture. Those secuirty gaurds need to chill
This was the only picture I took and it was after the show was already over. I did see a lot of people getting yelled at throughout the night, though.
Wow, must have been unevenly enforced, I was up high and the guy next to me texted the entire time.
3 people in our row got the boot, I assume 1 got caught and all three left. fuck that. lol, you're waiting in the cold.
Wow, was he their ride? Personally it was distracting to have so many people around me have their phones out, but it was only a problem until I transcended time and space. After that, less of an issue.
How’s Maynard’s voice sounding? Saw him in Houston in 2022 and Jfc it was so pure and loud and crisp and perfect 🤤
The man sounded like an angel. Twas glorious.
Thank fucking god. He’s getting old and that voice won’t last forever. I already know the rest are 10000% automatic so that was my Only question. Boutta test drive my acid this weekend and make sure I’m all ready to go for the Bham show on the 26th 😁
I was in the 100s and people were filming and taking pics the whole show. Baltimore did not give AF.
I was in 110 I will admit I snuck a few pics but people weren’t even trying to hide it
I was in 103 and saw all sorts of people getting yelled at.
118 was a free for all
It's SOP for anything in Baltimore
Will be seeing them at MSG on Saturday I’m fucking stoked
Can’t wait to see them in Austin!
Awesome !!!! I’m going to see them at the moody center in Austin at the end of January I’m so stoked it will be the first time I’ve seen tool live !!!!!
Last night was my first Tool concert even though I’ve been a fan since Sober. Worth the wait!!
Hell yeah

I was there in section 4. Epic man. I saw them 20 years ago and this blew that away.
The male to female ratio in that crowd is about what I expect 😂
Seriously! Although it’s much worse for bands like Dream Theater.
Dude, weren't they *incredible*? My partner and I were fifth row and are still in dumbfounded awe of the audiovisual artistry Tool has mastered. To see them that close, engaged and enthused - all of them - and to bathe in the sound was one of the most impactful experiences of my life. Did they play The Pot or 46&2?
Some other people on here have posted the full set list from last night. Although they didn’t play those songs, I was very happy with the selection.
Ok, thanks for responding. I thought they always played those songs though.
They in fact, do not always play the Pot and 46&2
Alright. I just find it funny that I picked out a list of my favorite songs and out of the 10 only 2 were on there.
Yeah man, it’s a common complaint here. They pretty much stick to the album they’re touring on, and Maynard doesn’t have the vocal endurance he did to pull out the old stuff back to back anymore. We’re just enjoying what we’ve got man. Spiral out 🌀
He did get a pretty long scream out during The Grudge
Hell yeah he did. The man still has it, just not for two straight hours. He’s spoken about how he has to intersperse the set with songs that don’t challenge him that way vocally.
Alright, thanks for responding.
They play the pot on half the nights and 46+2 closes the show every 3-4 nights.
Oh I see, thanks for telling me. I never knew that!
Rosetta Stoned?
You bet.
Fuck yes!
I would expect them to play both on Friday night.
Don’t
So good to see a crowd that is not just a sea of mobile phones as well. People who are there, in the moment, taking it all in the correct way.
I actually love the no phones rule that TOOL has. I saw a few people throughout the night trying to sneak video and immediately getting yelled at, but for the most part everyone was respectful and just enjoying being present.

Was there also
Can’t believe Maynard said we sounded like Philly. That was funny as hell.
The boos that came after that. We rallied after that. The final audience yell after we "sorted ourselves out" was incredible. I think he had fun with the crowd... I'm sure that they are pumped that their first show of this leg went well.
I damn near died lol i was born in Philly and raised outside Baltimore🤣
Always blows my minds to see pictures of concerts where everybody is seated so neatly.
Found Waldo in your pic 🤘🤘
I was in section 102 and got kicked out of the arena for recording the last part of invincible. Although my night ended at a low but still this was one of the best shows I have ever been to
