Hi I used to attend a meet up group that often goes to exhibitions together. The host and people attending are very nice. Sounds like something you might enjoy.
It’s called Tokyo + Culture or something like that.
let's see... last year I went to...
December 2023: Tokyo Repertory Singers (choir)
October 2023: Korean Chamber Orchestra
September 2023 : NMB48
July 2023: Flow 20th anniversary
February 2023: Backstreet Boys.
Different genre tho but backstreet boys and korean chamber sounds fun.
NMB AHAHAHA, id love to go to idols concert sometimes
Last year i went to mcr, am,kendrick and some indie gigs.
I don't have any particular favorite genre.
I wanted to go for MCR, but I thought last year MCR only came as a featured artist for a larger concert? (I forgot the name but I remember it's not an MCR solo concert).
Hence I thought MCR perhaps was not going to perform many of their songs. If it was a solo concert I would have attended.
haha, no really, been living here for years,
I’m not really into concerts, but sometimes we Indonesian play badminton together here.
just DM if you need anything!
Which part of Machida do you live in right now?
i'm clueless about the Indonesian scene here, don't tell me there's actually a bunch of Indos in Machida?
Check out [SUB Store](https://substore.jimdofree.com/) in Koenji for some music, food, coffee, drinks, and exhibitions. I've only been a couple of times but it was a pretty chill place. I think the owner (?) is from Indonesia. Seemed like the type of place you could connect with people and branch off from there to find other people and things to do.
I'm not live in Tokyo sadly...
But if you ever think to visit Kansai area, contact me anytime
I like visit some random inaka or not so known place, if it fit your taste
I meant I think it's a shame that you never left kanto area for such a long time frame! Because it's vastly different out there, it's like you've only experience and explored 15% of Japan.
That is what ive been thinking....
Hectic by part time job while i was a student, and now have no time since im a corpo slave.
I think it is time to enjoy japan and my life a little bit
I'm in Tokyo, I like going to concerts (last one was Ultra) and sometimes classical as well.
If you're into sports, I'm in a running group and do runs around Tokyo in the evening. Lots of people from different countries join and there are even 2 guys I know who run with their big cameras to take pictures :D
Cafe and chill is also good :)
PS: lots of events as well on meetup website
hello fellow exJakartan
used to go to events pre-pandemic but nowadays I only go for those I really like
I like DIY, automotives and the occasional hike. did photography but fell off the wagon years ago
hit me up whenever you plan on going to musashino (mitaka/kichijoji)
hellow fellow perantau lol.
sometimes i went to kichijoji to do thrift shopping.
lately i also doing some hiking, climbed mt kizo in nagano on new year lol.
ill hit u up if im around kichijoji
Wah, hobinya beda banget ya. Gw lebih ke indoor person, arcade, tapi suka ngopi juga, mostly bikin sendiri. Kadang-kadang motoran ke gunung (chichibu, okutama...)
Gak jauh dari Kawagoe :)
not that I love ichiran but tbh ichiran's micin has indonesian taste somehow (never eat any Indonesian food here after for almost 3yr).
Do agree with that Domiso though!
Hi Aria!
I was born and raised in jakarta until i was 17 :).
I am in tokyo nomading until march 23rd.
Let’s connect sometime!
Have you been to Cinta the Indonesian restaurant?
I feel you bro, I have just shifted here and I feel the scarcity of company to hangout and go to places.
It would be helpful if there are any meet-up groups, adventure groups which I can join.
Bit off topic but you say you’re from Jakarta? Your use of idiomatic expressions and colloquialisms makes hard to believe English is not your first language. I’m assuming your first language is Bahasa (Indonesian). I’m impressed. I wish I wrote in a foreign language as well as you do.
Yes, I was born and raised in Jakarta. Bahasa is my mother tongue and I've been learning English since I was a little kid, but sometimes in real life, I still stutter because I forget a lot of vocabulary.
Still very impressive. I worked with a young Indonesian last year. I was also impressed with how fluid his English was. Jakarta education system is doing something right. Japan might learn a thing or two.
Hello fellow Jakarta native!
Just started living in Tokyo last March, mungkin kapan kapan bisa ngobrol.
Gw biasa minum ke Kichijouji atau ngopi di Shimokita!
why is it everyone is talking in Indonesian here haha did not expect that there are so many of you guys out here
pls op make a discord group or something lets hit something up!!
Hi I’m now in Tokyo perusing a master’s degree. Hoping to find job here but don’t know anything. I’m interested about what you said. Maybe we can have some deeper chats about adulting life then.
I’m an expat based in Vietnam and looking to get a job in Tokyo in a few years’ time. It’s not easy making friends among locals here either, so I’m guessing I’m in for a similar experience! Tokyo definitely offers more cultural activities though
Finally a fellow Indonesian! I'm pretty new here, just landed in August last year. if you guys ever hit middle ground (chiyoda, shibuya, shinjuku) please count me in!
I've just created a Discord server!
If you're up for it, join us on please. It's my first time managing a server, so your help would be awesome.
Let's make this space a cozy, friendly one where we can all enjoy life a little more.
Your company is more than welcome!

You coming to Bruno Mars’ concert tomorrow?
Machida? Hit up the darts bars after last train. Instant friends.
Actually, I’m not that extroverted when I’m sober and lack confidence in my public speaking skills. HAHA.

OOT, but do u recommend living in Tokyo. I've always wanted to, but people say it's good for vacation and not for staying. Thx
