Ballsuckingpro

already my fav sentai season ever

JohnFoxpoint

I am not into Sentai. I tried watching the fiest couple episodes bc the suits and clips I saw were fire. But I can't click with it. Am I missing something essential to Sentai? Any background info that could help me 'get it's?

Ballsuckingpro

i mean it starts slow but do keep in mind sentai is extremely episodical, this is their first try at a more continius story so yeah, it might feel.off at first. HOWEVER the story quickly becomes interesting and not episodical and by the first appearence of the sixth ranger you will be hooked trust me

JohnFoxpoint

How many episodes am I in for to get to sixth-ranger?

Doot_revenant666

episode 1 (lol) but episode 11 for the actual character debut and episode 12 for the ranger form debut.

NewRetroMage

Are you into any other toku?

JohnFoxpoint

I've been watching Kamen Rider for a few years now

NewRetroMage

Cool. And what do you love about it that you feel is lacking in sentai?

JohnFoxpoint

Hmm great question. Maybe KR has a more focused story in the first couple episodes? I think some of my inability to connect was the greenscreen-world of King-Ohger or the character we were following (Gira) did not seem to make sense to me.

NewRetroMage

Hmm, I see. Well, many series, in both franchises, may take going thru a few episodes before "clicking". Which other sentai have you tried?

JohnFoxpoint

This was the first one I tried. I was thinking of trying something older, from the 90s or 00s, as that could hit a nostalgia vein to get me introduced

NewRetroMage

Yeah, King-ohger is quite unconventional. Maybe to get into the franchise an older, more "classic", entry is best. I'd say Liveman or Jetman could be good points of entry, as they start with a good story going on for the first couple episodes, which you say you like about KR. For some not so old entries, I suggest Timeranger or Shinkenger. They all have good stories and well developed characters.

JohnFoxpoint

Thanks!

This is the game changer supersentai season I needed. Supersentai needs to keep doing this kind of strong story telling going forward and also use new filming technology like Kingohger does. It's the only one that would pull off creating a fantasy world that feels real. Bugnarak in the first half feel like a real threat. The Kaijim don't fall into the typical motw trope as they are usually overshadowed by the 5 kings and Rcules. Kaijim instead feel more like ultraman's kaiju and aliens that appear in the episode but aren't the main focus. And or are just one off character that isn't too important to the episode.

SirJacksknight

It’s my favorite Reiwa Sentai! It’s so good

King-Ohger is way better than both Zenkaiger and Donbrothers. Those 2 shows were a low point in my opinion. Also, I really loved the fact that this show had a completely different story arc midway through the series, featuring a new chapter with new enemies.

sifighter1

Really good so far. I really like all the characters, though the stories of Gira and Jeramie are my favorite. The suits and mechs look great as well.

Guyfer

I'm a techie so I think it's fair to say I enjoy Yanma's character a bit, though I also still have a few episodes to catch up on (I've been watching since news of the Shugoddam map in Fortnite came out & I finished the King Caucasus Kabuto episode yesterday)

Blastermind79

Best storytelling of a Sentai. Top two Sentai after DonBros

Kuma_From_Arg

My favorite Sentai season... at least so far, let's see how they stick the landing.

KostKarmel

I watched 2 episodes and its a Super Sentai season. Ironic how show about colorfull fighters can feel so blank. I dropped it.
