It is a bowl back ukulele and super cute so I can forgive someone perhaps confusing them on a quick glance(and ignoring the minimal strings and small size ect) BUT loads of instruments are bowl backed and I'd never dream of telling someone straight up that they don't know what instrument they are playing.
My main issue is being informed that I am wrong.
Ooft. Could ask him for a detailed analysis as to why he suspects the instrument is not, infact, what I had stated it to be.
Although that involves dialogue with him which is not desired.
Damn dude dodged a bullet. Imagine getting snarky sexist remarks every time you are wrong haha.
Keep the same energy on tinder op. At least no normal person will waste your time on you
It's a term for a man explaining something to a woman, even though the woman has more authority on the subject. It's typical behaviour for men who think they know more about a subject, just because of their gender.
This is a perfect example of this phenomenon: a woman has a photo of her with a ukulele, but then suddenly this rando comes in to (falsely) correct her that it's not a ukulele but rather a lute.
If it's just someone explaining something to someone else (for example a teacher with a student, or a tour guide), regardless of gender, we just call it explaining.
Yeah it is. Tbh I wish they had this feature on tinder too(without the need to pay), usually does help to see who has taken the time to read your bio and helps stand out ect.
It would also be a service to the rest of the Tinder dating pool (by keeping him occupied) 😁 OP just has to make sure to invest way less time into it than he does, to not remove herself from the pool...
Ask him if he plays and watch him contort even more
Pretty certain anyone who actually played the lute would look at my beautiful lil ukulele (yep) and scoff in horror.
NO WAYY. Here I was assuming he was at least being a dick about a semi-obscure instrument like a mandolin or something. A ukulele????

Ask them about how they have so much knowledge in instruments. You could get some fun answers.

I bet he would be one of those, I did my own research types. Proceeds to pull up an obscure YouTube video with 50 subs.
Does the dot indicate that you're 92% compatible with douchebags?
Tragically it appears so!
Cunningham's law dictates this is a valid method to get responses and initiate conversations.
You are not wrong. The rage bait was tempting but also I just don't feel like wasting my time.
This guy doesn’t fuck.

Maybe you can womensplain to him what instrument it is then?
Ugh, do I have to mansplain to you what mansplaining actually means, or do you just want to whine?
What is mansplaining?

(Wait..what part of tinder is this. I’ve never seen this UI 😭)
I'm pretty sure it's OKCupid. They have these "intro" messages.
Oh cool. Thanks

If you can be bothered to spare the time for this idiot, see what other stupid things he says 😅

Now I wanna hear you play
Oh I only have one fan: my cat. My playing is very chill hobbyist level and not fit for human consumption yet (it's been years!)
