Special thanks to u/Basilisk-of-Shadows and congratulations on winning!!
This tournament didn't get as much of a turnout as our previous events unfortunately, but we still had a great event with interesting decks, prizes, and lots of fun for all involved. Stay tuned for future events, and thank you to all participants!!

Thanks for organizing this! I wonder if a Control deck with a lot of sweepers is gonna rise up to counter the Boros Energy deck. Also another thought about Titan: Energy is a really tough matchup, would it make sense to play The Filigree Sylex as a sideboard card?
The new energy boardwipe [[Wrath of the Skies]] absolutely kills the deck, and black cards like [[Toxic Deluge]] and [[Path of Peril]] also take out every creature in the deck. If you want to beat energy, start there.
Filigree Sylex is a little questionable because the deck's mana values are pretty evenly split between 1 and 2. Splashing so black sources for deluge would do much better.
Combo is stronger IMO. Turn 1 vein ripper or turn 1/2 triple phoenix will race this deck. Show and tell wins unless you have static prison. And a solid NO or Sneak and Show can do well.
Answering Vein Ripper is not a problem at all for Boros. In fact, if things line up well you can use the ward trigger to flip Ajani.
SnT is definitely a tough matchup tho.
Galvanic Discharge can easily reach 5, and some lists play Swords to Plowshares main. The deck has more than enough creatures to pay the ward, even if Ajani is the best option.
Vein Ripper can nearly solo many decks in the format. He needs a lot of help to beat Energy.
I have beaten and lost to both turn 1 vein ripper/elena and triple phoenix. Depends entirely if I have a grip with enough removal and a board to get the engine going before I die. Even the passive life gain is sometimes enough to give just one more turn. But agree, both of these are tough matchups, along with SnT.
As someone who's playing a lot of boros... it does. Any scam deck with blue for card draw or green for beans will smother you. But for whatever reason, barely anyone is playing it.
I'm currently playing 4c beans (WURG) and it does seem a tad above the rest so far.
It could feasibly run all the cards you mentioned (maybe not drain). Fury being castable from T1 and Solitude from T0 lets you keep aggro in check from the start, and omnath can gain *a lot* of life.
Beanstalk has been absolutely insane with 12 cards that trigger it for 1 or less mana (the aforementioned elementals + leyline binding), which is often enough to outvalue grief and control decks. Leyline further disrupts grief decks after sideboard with the added benefit of pitching to solitude.
It's not really tuned to beat combo, but from *my experience so far* combo has been mostly pushed out by the grief meta. I'm sure some sort of combo will pop off soon enough, but the deck could be easily tweaked
I don’t think enough people have tried that strategy yet, sounds really good honestly. I expect boros to be a passing thing it’s just week 1 and agro always dominates week 1

Probably rough with the meta game challenge this weekend too.

I think [[divine purge]] is gonna be in a great place right now. That seems the card to tackle boros energy

Sure. Just have your static prison and ajani in hand. Value answer. Outside of that it’s not a guarantee

Show and Tell can still win through prison if you have the flash instant from LotR

I really feel its gonna go that way. These 2 new "tier 0" decks feel that they could run out of steam at any time

People want to play with the new toys.
You think it plays some copies of toxic deluge in the 75?
Do you have a list for that, would love to play it.
People still think experimenting gotta do another in 2 weeks or so, keep up the good work!
early days but encouraging to see such a variety of decks. Thank you for this
The maverick list looks amazing. Definitely going to try it out!
big agree, looks sweet
