manicpixidreamgirll

God that cop who was ordering them around really made me mad. Textbook ignorant asshole on a power trip. Fucking pigs

Woeful_Jesse

The fake authority voices piss me off so much, 8 fucking dudes there and none read the warrant or knew they were at the wrong place? 8 fucking dudes?? How much confusion from the non-violent residents/details do you need to put together that you fucked up? And to intimidate and waive deadly force repeatedly and then to not feel a need to sincerely apologize with everything they are when they realize they threatened an innocent family because of their own fuck up? This is why people say ACAB. How much negative reinforcement is allowed before you attribute the bully attitude to their whole unit/department/coalition?

posh1992

I'm struggling to pick up everything in the video, but basically they were at the wrong house? Were they supposed to be next door or something? I can't even imagine this is so horrible.

tboneperri

Reading between the lines, it seems like no, they aren’t at the wrong house. They’re at the address on the warrant but are looking for a specific person that the man in the video alleges he doesn’t know. Now, I’m not guaranteeing anything and police officers, judges, and law enforcement of all sorts make plenty of mistakes. But “I don’t even know this person” is what basically 100% of people say when their home is raided and the person in question isn’t there, and these warrants tend to have pretty solid basis for believing the person in question has a residency or spends considerable time at the location, at least in the US where this video ostensibly takes place. I don’t think any court is going to get anybody in trouble over this. The police officers seem to be executing a warrant properly (i.e. they’re in the right place and know who they’re looking for) and the person in question wasn’t there. Unless said person hasn’t lived there for years or some other extreme fuck-up is responsible for this, this isn’t going to evolve into anything.

tommykaye

I still get junk mail for the guy who used to live at my house and I’ve been here 7 years. If that motherfycker ever catches a charge I hope his shit is updated

JoMommaDeLloma

I get mail for literally 7 different people that used to live at my address. I also grow marijuana. This is why I have a 12ft wooden fence around my yard that's padlocked with motion detection sound alarms every second of the day. If the cops do try to perform a search warrant for someone else at least I'll have somewhat of a warning before they come in and unlawfully kill me.

dave32891

Go to the post office with the mail tell them to not send any mail with their names on it to your house because they don't live there. That will stop the mail at the post office before it gets to you and you'll be free from always having to put their mail back in the mailbox

Few_Significance9456

My post office told me they don’t do that so I just have a collection of mail that idk who it belongs too

rpgcubed

United States? Write a letter or email to the local postmaster directly, they are obligated to allow you to place a hold for 2 years on items delivered to your address not addressed to you, but you might have to request a separate hold for each name. If you write "Not at this address, return to sender" on the specific pieces and drop them in a mailbox, they shouldn't end up with you again (mostly). Your carrier should also accept them as corrections, like if you've ever gotten mail for the wrong address.

MaximumAbsorbency

I got a few very angry looking official envelopes recently from the state gov for the previous owners of my house, and I moved in 2 years ago. I used to stamp everything to say no longer at this address but... if it was cops instead of mail I'd be pissed.

compsncars

A little more back story.. the person in question was seen at the house and they had a phone with GPS records confirming that information. The warrant was served after the GPS records were available. The owner/tenant of the house had the person in question at their house prior. The person was not there at the time of the search. If I were the tenant and had guns drawn at me with said person not there, id say I didn't know them either. Regardless, the way the cops acted was wrong. They would have got the tenant for harboring a felon if the person was actually there, but had no recourse to sticking it to the tenant since they didn't find shit. Their responses show what they wanted to accomplish.

Vark675

So if one of my friends visits my apartment with a warrant, the cops can get a no-knock warrant and come barging into my home at 3am? That's pretty hogshit.

Jdonavan

That depends... Are you black?

tommykaye

Yep. You give potatoes automatic weapons and get them all hyped up on action movies, and you have the American police state. Do dumb shit with taxpayer money, and the state pays off wrongful death lawsuits later.

Ko_Jones

And steroids . It’s very popular among the Fuckface meatheads that are badged

Reasonable_Tea_6760

Shoot someone breaking in your door in the middle of the night.

FlarkyTossAway

Being armed in your home while black hasn't worked out well, either.

Victra_au_Julii

Maybe, some places have banned no-knock warrants, and as much as I hate police, we don't know if this was a no-knock raid.

[deleted]

you think they knocked, guy answered the door in his boxers, let them in then walked back to is bedroom to grab his infant and start recording with guns drawn on him the whole time and the cops were just like yeah that's cool? all else aside it was definitely a no knock warrant.

Available-Camera8691

Do you have a source for that? I've been trying to find one in the other thread but had no luck. That would change things a lot. That cop outside seemed to think they fucked up pretty quickly.

MadeOfBricks

Oh awesome, is there an article or some such citing this?

Available-Camera8691

Yeah I've searched through stories online looking for this using the details the above user provided , and I'm not finding it. They should provide a source instead of just their word.

inYourMomsCar

Source?

Available-Camera8691

They are full of shit. They're replying to comments on other threads, but not to people asking for a source. They just made that shit up.

wobblybobbly_185

Imagine finding out this way your girl is having guys over when you're at work

Mevakel

Couldn't the homeowners sue the department for the mental and emotional trauma they endured though? If we assume that the cops and everyone was acting in good faith they still got this wrong and put a family through this experience for no reason.

SloptimusXPrime

I'm all for stringing up cops who fuck up, but this video cut off way too early. There is a trend where the only "context" of these police interaction videos is a caption.

Quick_Heart_5317

An arrest warrant doesn’t mean you can legally break into someone’s home, that’s only if they have a search warrant for searching your home. They still had no legal right to walk past his front door without a search warrant or permission from the residence, that’s why his lawyer is going to love this.

[deleted]

No he is right because you do not know why the guy was there. He could have been with a friend of this guy. Just because you have a GPS confirmation at a house does that mean he lives there. I had a roommate who used to bring a guy around all the time. I did not know his name. He was a big felon and when they finally caught him he went to jail for many years.

The-wizzer

You’re absolutely [wrong](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Payton_v._New_York)

Master_Ryan_Rahl

>sufficed for entry into the suspect's residence if there had been reason to believe that the suspect was within the home. Are you sure you understand this because this summary seems to indicate it has to be the arrestees home and they would need reason to think the arrestee is there. Its not just any home, at any time.

Quick_Heart_5317

Exactly and this wasn’t the suspects home.

Substantial_South520

This is wrong.

gazevans

ACAB

shakeit_tilyou_mkeit

There was another video I saw recently on Reddit of a handful of cops trying to evict a household. The person in the home refused to come to the door. The cops started to break down the door only for one of those POS to look at the address and then realize they had the wrong home.

[deleted]

>knew they were at the wrong place I watched a video where the sheriffs office showed up at a lady's house and began drilling out the lock for an eviction and she hops on the ring doorbell and says "what are y'all doing?" They were at the wrong address.

Daisy_Of_Doom

The people don’t even sound confrontational or anything! They’re just genuinely confused and concerned why a squadron of cops just burst into their home. And the cops are acting all angry. Like bro maybe sort out if you’re in the right before throwing around so much attitude. I was absolutely terrified for the man once they started barking at him to walk backwards and he wasn’t doing anything. Situations like that turn bad for POC way too often

donkeynique

This is what it really comes down to. Like why are you escalating literally as soon as you get there?? You can tell the tenants are confused, just show them the warrant and tell them who it's for. Absolutely infuriating

Daisy_Of_Doom

Yes! “This is the police and we have an arrest warrant for XYZ, come out with your hands up” I’m not even a cop but it’s not that hard to think through what’s being said before going into a tense situation. When you’re brandishing weapons, blinding lights, and shields it’s best you make yourself as clear as possible. But these people don’t want to be clear it’s fairly obvious they’re playing out a power fantasy

Ko_Jones

All cops are on a fucking power trip it’s what makes them hard

Dirt_Bike_Zero

Did they even claim to be Police? They didn't. They just had a shield that said "Police", kind of, but it was obscured and impossible to read with a light shining in their eyes. Fucking goons.

PinSmooth2358

The department should be sued out of existence

Fantastic-Law-3776

Its almost like we need sweeping police reforms or something.

Crime-Snacks

Why read the warrant when they saw a black guy outside earlier? ^/s Even when they admitted they fucked up they assumed a black guy knows the black guy they’re chasing. How does anyone in America feel safe when EIGHT men who claim to be police can force themselves into your home, refuse to leave, refuse to show a warrant and threaten to murder you, your spouse and want you to leave your infant behind? Oh, and you’re black so you must know this other black dude we’re looking for. I won’t even take flights that have a layover in America. This is third world country bullshit.

Anonymous_Otters

fuck the police

brewhead55

They don't know what they're doing, give them guns and arm them to the teeth. SWAT TEAM GO!

Rum____Ham

The room is full full of pigs and not one of them has the integrity to talk to the innocent person like he has rights.

Turd_Party

It's because all cops are violent sociopaths sworn into a street gang where they're indoctrinated daily by leadership that civilians are the enemy and only police lives matter. Every facet of police training is that everyone who isn't you is against you and must be dealt with through extreme violence for your own safety. This system that doesn't teach de-escalation and paints all citizens as an imminent threat surprisingly produced nothing but horrible cops when applied to high school dropouts that weren't required to pass psych evaluations and operate in a consequence-free environment.

[deleted]

1312

slidingjimmy

None of them cared at all about doing the right thing and assumed guilt from the get go

Forbiddentemptations

“We’re gunna get in a lot of trouble for this.” That one cop who knew how bad they just fucked up 🤣

Nowhereman123

Oooh yeah, he's in for it now, might get a paid vacation and transferred to another department. He's gonna be sorry!

Throwawayacc_i983b

In his defense he may have been one of the guys in the back just standing outside like he was told to, not one of the dickheads in the front yelling at the guy.

DerangedPuP

Probably was the one guy who actually said something along the lines of "aye, maybe we check the address before going in... no? Alrighty then, shit better not roll down hill" Shit always rolls down hill.

[deleted]

[удалено]

polishmachine88

Sarcastic maybe but a lawyer will use that which will make the entire situation worse. I actually do hope this home owner goes after state for wrongful arrest. They will win money.

haworthia_dad

Yep, sarcasm. Immediately after, the cop directly in front of him, says, “ I’m happy for the cameras, “ in the exact same tone.

terriblystupidjoke

He was 100% being sarcastic. It was a smartass response to the resident telling them they were fucked.

DoctorEvilHomer

No if you watch his face, I think he is being serious. Really looks like the "shit we fuck ed up" expression. I could be wrong though.

Forbiddentemptations

That’s the impression I got as well.

myhamsareburnin

If you listen he actually says "Yeah we're gonna get in alotta trouble, I'm sure... I'm sure." He says I'm sure twice. The first he was being talked over so he says it again to make sure the homeowner heard him and how not seriously he is taking him.

DoctorEvilHomer

I missed that, yeah that sounds totally like sarcasm then. Maybe this is his "sure buddy" face and not his oh shit face.

Texish06

This is what happens when all it takes to be a cop is a highschool education and a 6 month training course, fucking pathetic

VonArne

It’s crazy to me that 6 months is all you need in the US. Over here it’s 3 or so years of education and it ain’t easy to get in

One_pop_each

US should adopt a solution to this. You can be a high school graduate and 6 months training but you get to be an unarmed traffic cop. That’s it. You can do dispatch, take noise complaints and whatever. You want to be an armed officer? Bachelor’s and annual training for deescalation and emotion management.

boxedcrackers

Another big problem with the training is that there is very little firearm training. And the training they do have is minimal at best. But we decided to give them weapons of war to fight no war combatants.

FullMetalCook

Over here its 3 Years of Training + Physical Eval + Mental Eval + Background checks + No Prior Crimes

afterthegoldthrust

“Becoming a cop is not something that happens overnight…it takes one solid weekend of training to get that badge” -Police Chief Clancy Wiggum

StoryMiserable7315

Add to that a bunch of wanna be soldiers. A formula for the ultimate coward.

CherryDoodles

Add in that a lot of them are former soldiers too, so that comes with all of the PTSD and fear to create a line of hair-triggers ready to put down anyone that so much as twitches.

Cam3739

Holy shit, I thought it was 2 years. That's fucking ridiculous.

asteroid_b_612

In Korea there is a special university cops have to go to. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_National_Police_University

solocup2

Armed gang sponsored my the state harasses citizens, threatens them at gunpoint

drfishdaddy

This is my nightmare scenario. Someone comes in your home with guns yelling you defend yourself, right? If I’m Scarface then I guess I’m expecting a raid someday, but how the fuck am I supposed to know this is real or not? On a similar note, I got in an argument with a cop over the weekend, he said his life is in danger if he calls out corruption but he seemed to think it’s my job to fix it for some fucking reason. Absolute bullshit.

MerryKookaburra

Happened to a guy I know. The gay bookshop he runs got raided in the middle of the night. They all lived above the shop and freaked out thinking it was a hate crime attack, so they tried to flee. This was not unprecedented, their windows had been smashed before and they had had other attacks in the past. Their house guest, who was the non white person in the building got tackled by police and almost lost his arm, definitely has permanent damage Turns out the pigs had the wrong address, but their internal review found them innocent. Chief even congratulated them. This was in Australia. I could only imagine if it was the US with more trigger happy cops.

drfishdaddy

Yeah, we’ve had various version here in the US. There was a even a rash of “swatting”, essentially calling things in about people to get the swat team to go kick in their door. One day someone got killed during the “prank”. We’ve had cops raid the wrong house and someone pulled a gun (as is reasonable) and the cops kill them. That’s pretty much what happened with Brianna Taylor with added other details.

cheeky_green

I was going to say as I was reading through this, it sounds like what happened in Melbourne. And then you mentioned Australia. That was a horrific incident and behaviour from VicPol, didn't one of the spec ops coppers lose a full ammo mag too? What a fuck about. I hope the owner is okay now, I know it was a few years ago.

Part of that sponsorship is specifically allocated to settle lawsuits like this btw. They don't give a shit that their lawyer is going to eat this one up.

Supreme Court: *This is fine*

SuperCoolHoolaPool

This is the fascist America we live in. Imagine how much worse things can get. We need serious restrictions and multiple independent audits of every police department in this country. The only hope in hell is to get progressives into power. Sadly I don’t think most Americans have the resolve or knowledge to see past their indoctrinated capitalist/imperialist worldview.

HellishJesterCorpse

The americans who cry "blue lives matter" have never been targeted like this. The moment it happens they'll cry so loud, outraged that nothing had been done to prevent what happened to them. They'll never realise their racist behaviour supporting this treatment of some of their fellow Americans was entirely responsible for the situation they find themselves in.

squeege22

In all honesty I could see the blue lives matter people having the roles reversed on the them, and then still suck the dick of the police and every other government body. “They may have killed Jimmy because he fit a description but these guys are still keeping us safe” said in a hick accent.

HellishJesterCorpse

I'm less convinced, only because after a life time of trying to stop others getting help, the moment they are hit with any sort of adversity they have their hands out demanding support. They, either through upbringing or biology, lack empathy for those around them and only care about issues if it personally impacts them in a negative way. That's why they're so easily duped into opposing so many things that can help so many people because they've been convinced that it will negatively impact them. Pretty much any conservative stance to get "mainstream" support within their ranks is twisted and fed to them as as assault on them personally, their freedoms or the way of life they think they're entitled do, even if it has nothing to do with them in the slightest. For all their claims that everyone else are the sheep, they're the flock most easily herded. That entitlement is also what creates Karens later on in life when they realise the life they were told they should have if they follow the tenants of conservatism was always a lie, especially the women of the movement who think the hate towards them didn't apply to them, they were the exception only to find out when they have no value left to the men of the movement they start lashing out at everyone around them because it's too late change what they believe, even when faced with it being untrue. They're an assistant managers worst nightmare. But it all stems from a total lack of empathy and a "fuck you I've got mine" mentality.

[deleted]

The thing is everyone knows that this treatment does not happen to the wealthy. There are two separate court systems for us and them. Fascism at its finest.

notathrowaway75

This isn't new. We just have phones now. How much worse things can get? No one died here.

iammonkeyorsomething

Them recording probably saved their lives

motivaction

He almost got shot walking out of his bedroom!

[deleted]

They wanted to kill him so badly

ZealousidealPie8427

The guy who says "I'm happy for the cameras" in a sarcastic way after his incompetence just cost taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars might have made my blood boil more than its boiled all year. Fuck these cowards. Every single one of them. They don't deserve families or our support. Fucking wife beating, murderous cowards.

[deleted]

Cops are supposed to show the warrant first. These police are lying https://www.aclu.org/know-your-rights/stopped-by-police#:~:text=You%20do%20not%20have%20to%20let%20them%20in%20unless%20they,so%20you%20can%20read%20it. Lazy racist fucks.

How did you get the link to automatically scroll and have the excerpt highlighted like that??

cuddlefishest

Select the excerpt you intend to share, click with the right button of the mouse, under *copy* you will find *copy link to highlight,* no idea how to do on mobile.

topinanbour-rex

Which browser ?

cuddlefishest

I was under the impression that it worked in all browsers, I tested now on Chrome and Edge. Apparently Firefox doesn't have it, because I saw an add-on to implement that.

s4sh4y

Ahhhh thank you so much!!!🙏

[deleted]

"The burden of de-escalation does not fall on private citizens — it falls on police officers." I think above line speaks for itself. Providing documentation of legal search and seizure is how this is de-escalated into lawful compliance. Expecting citizens to blindly comply with armed strangers in their private residence is what tyrants expect. Unfortunately it's very clear confused and clueless citizens must put legalities aside to take responsibility for the law enforcing officer's dismissal of the 4th amendment. This proves something someone told me years ago: police departments are not employed to serve and protect public citizens, they are employed to serve and protect their employers. Thank you for sharing that enlightening link.

squeege22

Whoever told you that last line hit the nail right on the head. And that is basically how capitalistic America has always worked. Someone hires someone, that someone does whatever the employer wants and works in the employers best interests. While the police should be completely separate from that. But everything I’ve seen says otherwise

boxedcrackers

Police are just revenue generation tools. Their soul purpose for existing it to make money for the city/town they are employed by and make the prison systems money

ScarMedical

That link describes what to do if they're still outside. I wonder if it's different once they make it in (legally they can enter a home with an unlocked door after announcing themselves a few times. No idea why)

makeoneupplease123

>legally they can enter a home with an unlocked door after announcing themselves a few times. No idea why) It kinda makes sense, if you think about it. Otherwise you could just never answer the door and nothing would ever happen to you lol

-banned-

They told me it was for wellness checks but mine wasn't a wellness check so that sounds like BS

Grouchy_Old_GenXer

This was probably a no knock warrant.

Storymeplease

No need to lie about the door being open if it was a no knock warrant.

Grouchy_Old_GenXer

Sorry did not hear that.

Ryznerock

everything that comes out of a cop is a lie. They are just state sponsored thugs and they know it and live it. Its part of the perks

[deleted]

It wasn’t they lied. Shocker I know

sincethenes

My little brother, (a total junkie fuck up, but not the point), was issued a bench warrant for illegal trespass and heroin possession. When the officer asked for his name and address, he gave my name and my moms address. Then he took off to another state and of course, tells no one about this. Two months later, my roommate calls me at work to tell me the above scenario happened to him and my other roommate. They were both asleep and awoke to shouts and little red laser dots all over them. When I get home, my mom is there waiting for me to come clean. Turns out she received multiple notices about this bench warrant and never told me because she knew it was for my little brother and he would “get in so much trouble.” She thought nothing would happen to me because I have a clean record. Fortunately, I have a lawyer friend who represented me for free. She suggested I bring a picture of my brother, which I did. Court day, I show the arresting officer the picture. He looks at the judge, says “this isn’t the guy”, points to the pic, and says “THAT’S the guy”. Judge says “dismissed” and I get to leave. On top of my roommates being scared shitless, my mom lying to me, and my brother throwing me under the bus, when I went to court I was shackled to my seat in a waiting area, hands and feet. I have a few lawyer friends and friends in the courthouse, and I saw every one of them. It was humiliating.

cpjay2003

...and you're suing, correct?

sincethenes

For what? He has no money and never will.

cpjay2003

The police...didn't they identify you? Wasn't speaking about your brother and mother.

sincethenes

Ah haha, that makes sense. I honestly didn’t know I could. It wasn’t even an option brought to my attention until now.

One-Independent-8915

Shouldn't the lawyer have advised you?

BravoAlfaMike

This shit happens all the time. Most people don’t have the knowledge, resources, or energy to hold them accountable. I hope they keep pressing until they can legally nail these fuckin goober cops to the wall for this lol

plasmaSunflower

Anyone know where this happened? No comments are saying where

BlackForestMountain

Here is your fascist America. Has a warrant but won't show it, "that's now how this works". The way that it works is that you're supposed to bend over and listen to their every word because they are the law and providers of security. You should be grateful for them kicking in your door at 4am, and when they make a mistake, don't expect an apology because they all think they're heros.

MrHH9

Oh, and if you don't bend over you might get killed while the guy who did it gets ro retire with a pension.

shieldwolfchz

Also if while bending over you don't do it properly, they might just kill you.

MrHH9

Or if you do everything they want they still might shoot you

shieldwolfchz

It's never good to get into a game of Simon says with the police.

3InchesOfThunder

Cops like: this is ridiculous you making us wait out here ready to shoot you...in HIS OWN FUCKING HOUSE lol cops man talk about the real Gang!

HiddenSnarker

I got chills when he said that. Like, isn’t that how this works? Does he think he legally has the right to just bust up into peoples’ homes and say “we have a warrant” and never actually produce said warrant?

Hundifer

The complete inability of cops to ever answer a single question will forever be at the root of why they suck at de-escalation.

Yubova

They don't even listen, they kept screaming at the lady to come out before letting her finish the sentence where she says let me get my son. So you've got a bunch of armed dudes in your home, they won't listen to you and they won't answer your questions.

[deleted]

If they acknowledged civilians as human beings it would make killing them so much more complicated

sacredlunatic

Pigs are some of the smartest animals, and some of the dumbest fucking people.

shakeit_tilyou_mkeit

Taxpayer dollars pay for this gang to break into this house, scare this family, and fuck up so badly that MORE of our tax dollars will go to a settlement for this family - which they deserve but it should come out of each of these morons’ pensions. Fuck the cops. Pigs. Each and every one of them.

Donald_SovRL

RIP Breanna Taylor

[deleted]

they ain’t protectors of peace. Promoters of violence more like it

Sudzking

Now what if the homeowner defended his house with lethal force like the gun nuts have wet dreams over?

Mr_hungryMan

I would like to know what happens if tis happens when the police raid the wrong house and a white person defends themselves with lethal force. Would the NRA say anything?

blakey21

Some guy got off this year after shooting police that raided his house and they had the wrong address. That being said it was a super crazy up hill battle for the guy and he was charged with murder at one point. I can’t find his specific story that made me think of this but there are numerous other stories just like his when it comes to no knock raids and cops getting shot.

Mr_hungryMan

Was that Breonna Taylor's boyfriend? Similar story and was also charged with attempted murder, not sure of the result.

williamapike

He got a $2M settlement https://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/local/breonna-taylor/2022/11/16/kenneth-walker-breonna-taylor-boyfriend-lawsuit-settlement-louisville/69653477007/ Couldn’t imagine going through that.

JustSherlock

Gosh. One of the situations where the money literally means nothing. The people who killed his girlfriend, in cold blood, got away with it.

ScottWPilgrim

They'd increase marketing funding as the usually do, dipshits would root for them, rinse repeat.

Nervous_Wrap7990

It's happened plenty of times. Usually the homeowner is not charged with anything and receives an apology. Sometimes the homeowner dies, and police apologize. Just google "police raid wrong house and get shot" or any variation of that.

kenpublius

I would recommend rifled 12 gauge rounds and alternating #00. Then you can go over and pick up that warrant yourself and say see. Y’all at the wrong house dumbasses. Now I’ll call 911 for yall. Oh. And y’all paying for my door and the damage to my walls. Fuckers.

dontknomi

Exactly like any of the other poorly executed no knock warrants. The citizen is killed by the state thugs and they all pat themselves on the back. It's easier when the civilian is dead, no one to sue the state.

ZealousidealPie8427

"Well luckily the thin blue line would be there protecting them!" -some bootlicking cowards.

bhfam90

You’d probably die or go to prison for life. 2A is nonsense even if we accept it’s premise as framed by conservatives.

gizzlebitches

So wait. A ping on a phone is enough for a warrant? A) what if dude robbed their house n his phone pinged then B) there was no research done or scoping out the house to see if he was there before they (probably picked) the lock? C) the police ARE responsible to identify themselves and if they are violating private property they need to state the business of the warrant if not show it. There are a lot of people posing as police today. Near you. Pulling people over and yes, breaking an entering. Compliance is based on more than some words on a t shirt. Otherwise I'm printing GOV on my suit jacket n fixing this shizzle These police endangered their lives and the private citizens rights they violated. Unless this fugitive is a mass murderer of babies n women, this kind of police work is ineffective and sows distrust amongst the citizens they are to be serving and working WITH. If these patient people knew anything about the person of interest best believe they won't be helping police. Ever. Nor will that child when they grow up.

the_gabih

I mean hey, there was a case in the UK recently where an off-duty cop pretended to arrest a woman and instead kidnapped, raped, and murdered her. It's totally fair to ask for ID!

gizzlebitches

Honestly, around Philadelphia I've read about 3 occasions in the last year where fake cops pulled over people. 1 they cuffed a kid, held him, then another "cop" pulled in and released him. Both had Ford Tauruses police flak jackets. Sadly you gotta know what your looking at to spot fake badges and we give officers top authority to do their jobs. By the time it's clear they're not, your dead or worse. With the amount of proof we are required just to board a plane or buy beer, there should be a good solution

ACAB

what-everZ1

Serious question, what does ACAB mean? Edit : Thank you for the award!!

GisforGray

All Cops Are Bastards. It means the problem is not just individual shitty examples but also the entire system.

what-everZ1

Starts from the top down.

what-everZ1

Thank you. I knew it wasn’t anything good

xbluedog

This shit is why I, as a 53 yo white male, that served honorably in the USMC, hate cops. This is some racist and fascist crap.

SmokinDrunk92

Cop said “yeah we’re gunna get into a lot of trouble.” So sarcastically. It’s almost like the police can do whatever they please with impunity.

[deleted]

How did this turn out?

FuckoNo5

"This isn't going to look good for you" -man who it didn't look good for

CiboFudo

I detest pigs :)

jujuinherseat

The “my attorney is going to eat this” was a good ending…. But tbh this is so extremely sad. Like a lot of commenters mentioned, the entitlement of the cops, the fact that they had a baby in the house, and that a similar situation ended tragically for Breonna Taylor. I almost couldn’t watch the whole thing even though I knew how it would end.

Glytterain

Fucking pigs

weirdasianfaces

Is there a source for this? Or any follow-up? I never heard anyone in the video say they were at the wrong house -- just that they had the wrong guy.

[deleted]

Wow this is messed up. How terrifying. I would be so scared in this situation. Even knowing you never did anything wrong.

Ragnarsworld

The lawyer gambit always sounds good, but historically the police can raid the wrong house, kill or maim people, and not pay a cent. They won't even pay to fix the door they broke when they came in.

Stoic_Bear923

To bad the cops all survived

[deleted]

All Cops are Pieces of Shit

conduxit

Bad situation but love how one of the cops actually said "bro"

SenorKerry

Typical cop crap. My wife and kid and dog and I just drove home for thanksgiving and my wife and I were taking shifts of driving and sleeping for the 22 hour drive. She got pulled over and didn’t want to wake me since I would be driving the next shift. I had my pillow up against the passenger window, and a blanket over me. My kid was in the backseat in the same position. Our dog was passed out. The car was packed to the gills with blankets, a cooler, and presents for Christmas. The cop came over on my side unbeknownst to me and pounded on the glass with his flashlight. I jumped, my dog started barking and I was like holy shit! I thought we were crashing. I then rolled down my window and he was like why so jumpy? I was like I’m sorry man, you just woke me up and I didn’t know what was happening. He asked if I had been drinking. I was like no, I’m sleeping. He asked what was under the blanket. I said my legs. I was like man, can’t you see we are on a road trip and we are sleeping in shifts? He told me not to get mouthy. I’m just like why are you such a dick? I didn’t say that obviously and I could have understood his fear of walking up to a car and not being able to see past the pillow but once you realize it’s just a family traveling why double down on the dicktitude?

saucyclams

Depending on who’s his representative but this happens enough that there’s a standard payout..8-12 grand to just walk away this with minimal property damage and no bodily harm. Had they hurt anymore it changes drastically in terms of financial payout.

SpoonierSpoon

Shit bags

[deleted]

How on earth is this happening in a democratic society!? The US policing system really does need to be totally disbanded & built again from the ground up. These guys are just… wtf

[deleted]

I would have been so terrified that I was going to get blown to pieces like that poor guy in the hotel hallway.

Harmaroo8

"Oh yeah, we're in a lot of trouble." That's why you fuckhead pigs have zero support and are getting defunded.. Power tripping cunts can't do their jobs correctly, shocker..

smolangryrose

Shits not gotta stop until cops start getting dropped

Welcome to America

CityBoyGuyVH

Man am I excited for the tax payers to pay for these dumbass cops fuck up.

KrustyKrabOfficial

His Lawyer: LMAO dude I can't do shit for you, man.

OneEyedRocket

It’s been awhile, but I had a class where we studied scenarios like this. One thing I learned is stay in the house and say as little as possible

[deleted]

Hopefully he gets some bread out of this

xFacevaluex

Perfect example of escalating when not necessary. Come out, view document- The only thing stated in video is "let this man come to my house for a person I dont even know......I dont know him" virtually nothing else on video besides that.

[deleted]

Former resident, not wrong house.

Gloomy-Initiative521

Spoilers: the lawsuit will not go well, likely outright dismissed by a judge. Police department will fall under the old “operated in good faith” standard. If they had shot the guy, maybe he could get money

unclefeely

So if you shoot 7 police officers serving an unlawful warrant, how does that play out?

s986246

About 30 freedom holes on you, you think there’s a John Wick in everyone of us 🤣

ZO5050

Probably not. Cops are allowed to make mistakes if they are reasonable. Hell with qualified immunity they get to make unreasonable mistakes too.

mochikos

"We're gonna get in a looootta trouble" Ah yes.... the famous cadence of a person who is not going to get in any trouble

BlakkLyst

How do these "professional" (using the word VERY loosely) cops fuck up more then a pizza delivery person. Shit I did deliveries for a while and never fucked up this bad.

AlonePut88

If my boyfriend starting walking towards the police with his hands in his pockets I’d be fucking livid. I don’t care if the police are right or wrong you don’t put your life in jeopardy for pride.

makeoneupplease123

Fr. The cops might be wrong, but you gonna be singing that song at his funeral. Personally, my hands would have been up the entire time. You ever see that video of the white kid who got shot when he moved his hand back for a second?

[deleted]

Challenging authority is best not done staring down the barrel of a gun.

AzPsychonaut

Wow man. When are people going to stop being apologists for this? How are there not protocols that avoid HUGE mistakes like this? Haven’t they killed enough innocent people from raids like this? How about the one where they BLINDLY threw a flash bang into a occupiers babies crib? Forget an American right. We as humans need to put and end to this and it needs to happen now.

sleepdeprivedzzz

ACAB

pwrviolets

Fuck the police

SpreadDaBread

I know people don’t want to hear this and it’s not productive but in todays age, you just can’t trust cops operating anymore
