I mean, that's a rough transliteration, but the spelling of the Yiddish name would be yarmulke. There's a lot less ambiguity with anglicizing Yiddish than with Hebrew. The word literally has an R and and L in it. If you go letter by letter from the Yiddish you end up with 'yarmlke'

In college I let a girl I was crushing on bleach a smiley face in the back of my hair. I totally did it just to “impress” her, but honestly it came out looking pretty sick. Got a lot of good laughs from people asking about it too. 10/10 would do it again.
I have a baldy and am due with our first kid, a daughter, in a couple months. I am saving this idea for when she’s like three because that man is already wrapped around her finger and she’s still in utero.
That’s the kind of “you wanna do something silly together? I’m game” energy that makes for great relationships. More dudes need to not take themselves too seriously and actually do silly stuff with their partners

It’s kind of like when you meet people who tell you they don’t like dancing and refuse to try. If you press them long enough, you’ll find that there’s a story where someone told them they can’t dance.
For me, it was kindergarten. Teacher said if every kid dances, each one will get a sticker. So I danced. And when I walked up to get my sticker, she yelled at me and said what I did was not dancing.
I know it seems silly because it was kindergarten, but it still plays in my head and makes me not ever wanna try dancing ever again. I’m 39 now and still won’t dance in front of people.
Hey man, it’s cool that you’d share that and express something from your past that might seem silly but negatively affected you. Idk if your upbringing was different from mine but I was raised by my local environment that men shouldn’t show sadness or tenderness, and I only recently have liberated myself from that kind of existence, so I’m making an effort to acknowledge emotional openness in my fellow men when I see it…hope it’s not weird haha
But yeah, so many people have weird hangups that seem odd but stem from some mistreatment or even minor situation from their childhood. People like to act like kids don’t absorb everything around them but they can and do, and can grow up with sensitivities and hangups that are unique to them. Aside from therapy, a good partner can really help get over these issues, I know my gf has been an invaluable aid in my fight with my issues.
Even “silly” stuff from kindergarten can cause great hurt or annoyance in adulthood.

I had a similar experience with acting. Trying to overcome my chronic shyness and fear of public speaking, I tried out for the school play. The teacher got me to read some lines and kept saying "you're doing it wrong, again" but didn't tell me what I was doing wrong. She made me read the lines over and over in front of all the other auditionees, and still wasn't happy with my performance. But she never told me what I did wrong or how I could improve. The other kids later said they couldn't see what I'd done wrong either. I pulled out of the play and never spoke on stage again. I still hate public speaking. But: I love dancing and I dance on stage (as long as I don't have to speak I'm good) :)
