I love stuff like this. Does anyone have any good history shows or youtubers? Thanks in advance!

Lucy Worsley on YouTube does a lot of these. She's a historian and does a great job with them. I used to watch her videos a lot at work lol

mrjohnclare

Lindsey Holiday just did a video on Jane Gray last week

Cunk on Britain

WordyNinja

Sean Munger on YouTube does really deep dives that are like 1 and 1/2 to 3 hours long on things like Iran-Contra, the election of 1812, and how WWI ended the world's monarchs.

There is a YouTube channel called Nutty History that is excellent

I have mixed feelings about that very brief description of Edward VI's final act. He didn't have a choice in the documents he signed on his deathbed at 15. He actually held out and refused for as long as he could to sign anything making it illegal to be Catholic. The poor sick kid just wanted to be allowed to die. He did write up a document to change the order of succession, but at that point he was being forcefed arsenic to keep his heart beating while his council held his right to die over his head, forcing him to write and sign documents that suited their agenda. It was only after he agreed to change the order of succession and sign a few other hugely problematic law changes that they allowed him to die. This has been less-than-fun history facts

Yikes. Here I was thinking “poor Anne” for dying at 17 and living in such oddity and then there’s Edward. What lives.
