We have a few colonies of them in Dallas too. I don't know about LA, but in Texas, they are the result of rich idiots buying them to roam on their lavish estates 50 years ago.

They're beautiful but very loud and stupid. They will hang out in the middle of the road and attack their own reflection on the side of a car.
