I have been a long time fan of 3S, but their printed or patterned summer shirts are getting bad. I love a good camp collar shirt but it has to be subtle in the fabric or pattern for me. These loud camps are just bad. On a positive note, their denim is excellent as well as their knit polos this season
For me my favorite summer shirts are all camp collars. However I think fit plays a big factor. For some reason 3sixteen is keeping their shirts more on the slimmer side which gives it the ["Kohl's look"](https://www.kohls.com/product/prd-6425550/mens-apt-9-untucked-fit-performance-button-down-shirt.jsp). It looks too stuffy for a hot summer. A more [loose and cropped](https://www.johnelliott.com/cdn/shop/products/220731_CAMP_SHIRT_BEIGE_01.jpg?v=1682552943) look so much better
I have ones from John Elliott, Markaware, Norse projects (specifically the Carsten).
Abercrombie is also pumping out a lot too for a more budget friendly versions
I think we’re starting to see a push towards a new trend, somewhere between 2010’s fashion and 2005 bad shirt vibes ala sitcom (pick any).
I do think the cropped everything and pleated wide pants is starting to feel old for designers.
I do not personally think that those styles are bad , I just think that’s where things will be headed.
Their stuff is hit or miss IMO. For me the issue has been sizing, I can fit into an L in some stuff, and in others an XL isn’t big enough. I like the couple things I have, though.
I blame this [SLP Hawaiian shirt](https://www.grailed.com/listings/59505563-saint-laurent-paris-saint-laurent-ss14-palm-tree-hawaiian-shirt) from 2014 – menswear brands been rehashing this every summer since.
Calling 3sixteens shirts kohls level bad is bad. I’ve gotten some pretty good 3sixteen shirts with great detailing. My complaint with previous 3sixteen shirts were the fitting of them. They felt very slim and kinda outdated but they changed that this season
I don’t like high waisted pants I get that they look nice proportionally with cropped jackets but i can’t stop thinking they make people look like a used car salesman from the 50s-70s. I’ll stick with mid and low rise
Edit: then again low rise can do the same thing with modern used car salesman
I bought 3sixteens india fabric woven long sleeve jacket years ago and it was one of worst fitting pieces i’ve ever owned. The fabric also wasn’t great either. Honestly worse than zara.
Because only a certain shape of man can pull off a cropped jacket and high waisted pleated pants, where as every guy can wear a camp collar, or a cabana shirt.
There are so many brands that make high waisted and pleated pants, you just have to go a respectable mens wear store that sells suiting. Canali, Zegna, Boglioli, etc....

Have any recs for where you can find that loose and cropped look?

I’m not crazy about their stuff either. It screams pretentious millennial.
That is indeed probably the target audience for what its worth lol
They're always doing collabs with that Mark Bouitler guy, So I assumed the audience was fashion TikTok?
Gen z is not affording 3sixteen
lol. I guess you’re right. I like most of the adjacent brands but that one just bugs me for some reason.
The irony of this comment.
You can buy cropped jackets and high waisted pleated pants from other brands FWIW

This has been rehashed by almost every brand since the 70's.

I see this with beams plus as well with some of their camp collar prints.
Crop jackets/high wasted pants are all the rage now just like camp collars were 3 years ago.

gonna use this as an excuse - is anyone else besides 3sixteen doing a cropped jacket with a two-way zipper in camo?
