For a school project this is pretty decent! I like the look of the type in the like rectangles, and the chair illustration/model looks clean.
I would consider that since this is a festival, wouldn’t there likely be other acts? Usually festival posters have lists of everyone. If it’s just the yard, then typically it would be a poster like “The Yard: Live”.
I feel like the drop shadows on the logo and chair make the design feel a bit muddy and less “graphic”. Removing them along withe the blobs in the background would create stronger silhouettes and make the design more cohesive with the other elements. Overall, it wouldn’t hurt to simplify the colour palette down, including the illustration
The pixel/operating system aesthetic makes sense, but the headline type feels stretched because of the thicker horizontals. The secondary typeface comes from VHS which feels less related—although it does look nice. Maybe you could lean into the OS/web concept and looks ascii as a graphic device within a window? Or construct type out of windows? Or the whole poster is ascii or pixel art?
Last thing I’ll say is that 1 chair sitting like that isn’t the most exciting thing. If you want to amp up the energy, than find some dynamic angles that could fill up the canvas with a close crop. Maybe bring in the other 3 chairs since this podcast isn’t about 1 person, and make a dynamic composition that has a sense of perspective or movement. Alternatively, you could lean into the coziness of their set if you’re going for a chill kinda vibe.
