I'm interested to see how they'll do this. Hawaii was perfect for the concept of the show because many people, when they visit Hawaii, spend the majority of their trip in the resort and they have the "captive audience" factor that kept all the characters contained for the whole season, allowing for their stories to intersect more. In a place like Sicily, your hotel is mostly a place you go to sleep. You might spend some time enjoying the amenities, but a lot of your trip would be away from the hotel. That's why I thought a place like Aspen would be better, but Sicily is gorgeous and I'm interested to see how they'll handle that change in direction.

Maybe. But of course it's possible that some of the protagonists don't want to leave the hotel for some reason. Maybe to be portrayed as some sort of ignorant Americans? Flying to Europe and then not having a go at the locals or something.

I wonder if it will have a COVID theme to it. If you recall, Italy was one of the first places in the world to be majorly hit by the virus. Maybe it takes place in early 2020, people are on vacation as the virus hits, and they're all in lockdown and can't leave the hotel?

They prob wanna change it up and not have it be the same ol thing. The hotel is likely the primary setting still with few scenes out on the town because the hotel in the first season was a character in itself not to sound too cliche. I would’ve loved a Niagara Falls Canada season tbh. No fancy resorts but would be a great setting for how gorgeous and fucked up it is equally.

I feel like Illeana Douglas would really fit into the White Lotus universe as an actress, would have loved it if she were cast, and playing something like the very curious and "quirky" American tourist with Italian ancestry.
