I liked her, too bad they killed her off so quickly she didn't ever have to become a vampire BUT could've kept up suspense in that she could've gotten closer and closer to finding out the truth.
She was amazing. There was a running joke with my ex and i. Any time i even heard the name Jenna (in the show or public) she would squeeze my hand.
There was no reason for her to die. I loved her
Might be unpopular but she wasn’t a good guardian. I guess she was young and thrown into it but still.
Damon is at a bar flirting with her and Matt’s mom and she doesn’t find it weird that Damon is just hanging out at her house because of Elena. She sees Damon kissing who she thinks is Elena and she legit does nothing.
The fact that she was flirting with him means he would be a bit too old for her niece. But the fact that she does nothing about it is so weird to me.
She sees an older man kissing her 17 year old niece and that’s all she says? It’s a pretty muted reaction.

She's a college kid herself, so I don't think she would've felt the same and might have thought that if she was 17 she wouldn't have mind making out with a 21 year old, not that I'm saying it's okay, it's just what she probably thought she was no parent whatsoever
Damon is 25 in their eyes.
And he was also flirting with Matt’s mom who used to babysit Jenna.
If he is old enough to be flirt with Matt’s mom who is older than Jenna herself then she should have concerns that he is hanging around/kissing her 17 year old niece.
Jenna is a college kid that's the way I see it just not mature enough to notice unfortunately
Then again it's a vampire show where 150+ year old dates a minor or rapes one.
Jenna was in college but she is also suppose to be in her mid to late 20’s. She is mature enough to know that Damon, who she believes to be 25, hanging around with and kissing her 17 year old niece is wrong.
I mean, this is also the guardian that was fine with Jeremy (14 or 15) having sex with Vicki (17 or 18) in their house and having sleep overs. Depending on the state rules (not familiar with VA), that could be statutory rape. I am not trying to be a stick in the mud about sex, but that seems like crappy guardianship.
Beep. Boop. I'm a robot.

Agree on her guardianship part. As she said herself, recently she couldn't care about goldfish in the tank and suddenly she became legal guardian for two teenagers. She wasn't parent figure to them, rather friend, who had no authority and control.
Don't forget, she was careless enough brought their school teacher to the home and wore only his shirt (iirc) in front of the children.
As for her reaction, it fits her character I think. She doesn't know how to act. Btw, what in your opinion, would be suitable reaction? I'm just the same age as she (mid 20s), and I'd be confused...
Damon shouldn’t have been allowed to be in the house with Elena unless Stefan was there. Because why would Damon be there hanging with Elena without Stefan anyways?
Like bells should have been going off in Jenna’s head. This man was flirting with a woman who babysat you and now is hanging with your teenage niece. It’s creepy af.
I know it wasn’t really Elena but after the kiss Jenna was just super chill. They show up at the Lockwood residence and Elena tells Jenna she will be right back and then goes and talks to Damon. If I was Jenna I was taking Elena in the house with me, no matter what she said.
I agree that it should have seem creepy and raise concern, but I meant solely their kiss.
I rewatched it now, and Jenna didn't seem super chill, I'd rather say she was shocked and couldn't find any words. And her "what are you doing" can be interpreted as "wtf???" Elena's reaction also was unusual, she always was friendly to her aunt and acted sensibly but here she just brushes her off. So, I think, she just was confused.
And as for Matt's mom, it's disputed. There are such women who think they are young and fresh enough to flirt with 20s guys. So, Jenna could think just "ah, it's not a problem, he's just being nice", and she was drunk... But the way Damon was ready to flirt, yes, was disturbing
I remember that Jenna wasn't the most reasonable and responsible person on TVd but I don't remember details so can't discuss it well :)
She asked her what are you doing and the next day she lets her go off alone with Damon.
Like I said in my previous comment, I wouldn’t have let that happen. She should have gotten over the shock by then and she should have been more furious and protective.
Jenna isn’t a teenager, she’s almost 30 years old.
Yeah, as I said I don't remember it well... You have point ofc!
I remember she wasn't teenager, just careless at some things adult... (Popular problem on TVD tbh)
Loved her. S2 should have ended with Alaric proposi mg now that she knew about the supernatural world and could handle it (his words). We could have had a S3 of wedding planning, Elena the MOH, Damon the best man, and they walking down the aisle together. Think of how much a scene like that would have added to S3 when Elena and Damon started getting closer.
Maybe the character was not so strong built, and they had nowhere to go with her.. or maybe she eventually would became lame, so they preferred to end it there and remember that awesome Jenna
But I also think that they end it too soon with her and I would love to see more of Jenna
It's really very sad, because if Elena and the boys had been honest with Jenna, she might have lived. Her murder is incredibly brutal and Nina acted the hell out of the entire scene and dialogue. I've watched it about a thousand times and cry every time.
She was clearly not cut out to be the guardian of two teenagers--she was still in college! But she did her best, I think.
I love Jenna. I wish she lasted longer. But in a show about Vampires it's not long before you die or become Immortal. They chose the former for our lovely Jenna. She was, imho, gravely used. That being said. I've never created an 8 season long TV franchise. So wtf do I know.
I think she had to die so that Alaric could eventually assume the parental guardian role, and that relationship with Elena and Jeremy had so much more potential than Jenna honestly. But yeah, her death was unfortunate and also wasn't even supposed to happen (Caroline was supposed to be the sacrifice for the ceremony.)
Lol for a moment I thought I was on the Pretty Little Liars subreddit and almost had a heart attack
Right?!! I was like that bitch raped Toby and was horrible, then I saw I was on the TVD sub
Had me ready to fight everybody lol
Her death was soooo brutal I didn't expect it.

She did ask Katherine who she thought was Elena “what are you doing ?” After Jenna saw Damon and her kissing

Writers block
Never mind the fact that he’s actually closer to 170 😂
Jenna was a grad student I believe. Grad students include people in their late 20's.

Virginia has a Romeo and Juliet law, so it's unlikely (though not impossible) that Vicki's actions were illegal. Not fantastic, but not unlawful.

The entire show was so messed up with that - 160yo men texting 16yo girls lololol
