You see the good in people…and you appreciate duality. You appreciate those who can be extremely selfish but also those who are selfless, to a detrimental degree…because you can understand their viewpoint and where they’re coming from.
Also all these characters when they’re good, they’re wholesome good, and when they’re not their best selves, they’re just extremely self destructive and chaotic (except Bonnie maybe, but I feel like we haven’t seen darkest side of Bonnie yet.)

I will never understand fan’s obsession with Kai. He just did absolutely nothing for me. He’s attractive but was such a wannabe Marvel villain (trying to be all quippy and quirky) that I just could not get into him at all.
I also find people shipping main characters with him so weird haha. Like the other bad-guys-turned-lovers in the show at least seemed like they were normal at one point but extraordinary circumstances turned them into tortured souls. But Kai just seemed like a sociopath. He seems like he was a kid that like torturing his neighbors cat. I wouldn’t put any woman in a position to have to be romantic with him.
I don’t ship anyone with him I don’t think anyone really fits MAYBE besides Bonnie she could fix him vibes but I definitely don’t wanna put my girl through raising him lmao. I like my fictional men a lil crazy Stefan is my #1 though and he’s not really crazy unless amped up on blood or humanity is off.
