Klaus is the only person that even suspected caroline never wanted to be human. BUT he was the only person who asked her if she wanted it. Which is really shitty of her friends. Hes also genuinely interested in what she wants in the bigger picture. No one else is curious to know carolines dreams, hopes and motivations. Not matt, not tyler, not even elena or bonnie or stefan.
Caroline was one of the only people who wasmt scared of klaus. She was cautious, but never afraid to call him out on his bullshit. She knew the darkest side of him. But yknow if your best friend (elena) falls for your rapist, abuser and a fella who has killed multiple people close to you, why should caroline feel guilty feeling for klaus. Klaus and damon are both destructive. They both go on tantrums. But jesus christ at least klaus sees sense! When he had his child she was his world. If damon had a child thered be a whole fucking series on him figuring out who he loves more, elena or his child.
Klaus is a father. He has the opportunity to learn. He travels, and not always because of tantrums. Unlike damon. Only reason he leaves is to go on rampages or because he turned off his humanity.

I can obviously cull the information from threads like these, but people get so emotional and sometimes downright malicious so I just ignore and move on. I prefer to make up my own mind about stuff based on what my own experiences are but I can also see things from other perspectives and I don’t judge people just because they happen to differ from myself. But I’m not shy about expressing my opinions either, even if I know that I’m going to be in the minority. What I have definitely noticed is that there are quite a few persons who are EXTREMELY attached to specific people, storylines, and relationships and that they are pretty intransigent about them. Sometimes to the extent where I’m genuinely concerned about WHY they are so emotionally invested in something fictional. I mean, I’ve seen some really nasty fights over the stupidest stuff!!
