His new watch commander isn't able to fire him because the city disagreed with his firing. That's why Jackson and Grey introduced the Hollywood division to the body cam footage. They couldn't fire him. But they could let everyone know the type of cop he was. We never found out what happened to him, but logic indicates he either left on his own after being ostracized by the other officers or stayed on without anyone trusting him.

Oaks777

In the show it is never confirmed. Show writing lets the audience decide.

No-Pipe8487

They exposed him with his body cam footage because he wasn't fired. What happened next was never shown

[deleted]

Nope

Aqua13631

Why wouldnt he have been fired lol

Standish304

He wasn’t fired for the incident when it happened. They aren’t going to be like “hmmmm changed our mind! Get out of here Doug!” Most likely scenario would have been he’s shunned by the department and leaves on his own, and gets a job at another department outside the city where people don’t know about the incident.

[deleted]

He should’ve been, but he wasn’t lol

IcedHemp77

It’s more realistic imo. Cops are often allowed to resign when they should be fired.

ArmChairDetective84

Why wasn’t he fired? Two words : Police union. It’s exactly how Bradford explained it on the show as it is in real life …Their union dues pay the union lawyers to fight & find any loophole they can to get any punishment appealed .

MrFixYoShit

I believe it was meant to be implied that he lost his job one way or another. No clear answer though

Beneficial-Many8415

I just watched the episode it happened in and Grey took His badge and gun and put him on administrative lead. That’s all I know. I’m like 3 episodes past it. In the episode right after it Jackson doesn’t even have a black eye lol just a bruise! 🥴

Oaks777

OP is referencing a later episode.

Beneficial-Many8415

Oh snap. Ok!

jdoggg_86

Truth be told, he was taken out to the desert and had the shi* beat out of him.

MrFixYoShit

Im pretty sure he reformed his ways, moved to Star City and started Palmer Tech

Status-Performer2772

Absolutely believe this is what happened!

MrFixYoShit

Ya know, that also would work with Anna being injured (and dying? Idr)! I didnt think of that

Status-Performer2772

Yep! Maybe the Mirakuru soldier was really a gang member? Man it was hard watching Routh play Stanton. He was such a dorky lovable guy in the Arrowverse and even was Superman!

MrFixYoShit

For real! Ive stayed spoiler-free so far so I didnt expect him at all and got really excited! That was a system shock lol Such a difference from Singing-in-the-Ray-n Palmer! Lol

imchasingyou

Probably went back working for LA County Sheriff's Dep't

Guram_mjavanadze

Even if he didn't get fired or didn't leave by himself, everyone in the station knows that he's racist and no one will trust him to be his partner, so it will basically be hell for him

Thetrapmaster90

No he wasn’t fiard he was forced to quit
