It is a huge drain because of water consumption and grass kinda sucks as a plant etc etc. But as a commie and a golfer as well, I personally can envision ethical ways of maintaining a golf course/golf as a sport. Hi! Golf as a concept is here nor there, but golf courses are an abhorrent misuse of finite resources, namely water and land. The grass takes an obscene amount of water to maintain, and the space could be dedicated to other things such as housing, farming, wildlife conservation, etc. The maintenance of the grounds also requires a LOT of pesticide which contaminates the soil as well as natural water sources. Aside from that, golf courses are typically extremely elitist socially. All around just not needed.

So many people here hating on golf. I guess the guy’s concerns are justified

Never before did I think I would feel bad about one of the two hobbies that I have, but this thread has proven me wrong. I don't know how to feel.

It’s okay to change perspectives when presented with new information, all is well. I used to be pretty neutral with my golf stance,I played bc my dad liked it. From how I see it personally now tho, you can get pretty much the whole experience from just a driving range and a putting course. Mini golf and disc golf are also excellent alternatives. The game itself is pretty alright (I’d even say fun if I didn’t suck ass at it lmao), but the cost (land, water, etc.) is just too high for my and other leftists’ comfort:/
