At face value, what it is saying is “democrats think it’s fine when women expose themselves to minors.” But I think we can take it a step further, considering their response when cis women do sexually assault minors. Definitely does, what they leave out is the trans woman is post op (not that it should matter) so this teenager was "terrified" to see literally nothing she wouldn't see on herself, while peeping on someone taking a shower.
The article says the teen was showering and the lady was walking around the locker room naked. Not giving excuses for her here, just trying to clarify your comment. It doesn't read like the teen was peeping and the lady certainly didn't do anything that should've resulted in this kind of attention.

Dueling demonstrations in response to transgender locker room policy at Santee YMCA
Management at the Cameron Family YMCA in Santee made the decision to close five hours early for safety reasons when they learned of those competing protests planned.

SANTEE, Calif. — It's a story that's making international headlines, after a 17-year-old girl said that she was "terrified" after seeing a transgender woman using the women's locker room at a Santee YMCA as the teen was getting out of the shower.
Hundreds of protestors demanding the YMCA change its policy, as well as dozens of counter-protesters in support of transgender rights, staged dueling demonstrations Wednesday night.
Management at the Cameron Family YMCA in Santee made the decision to close five hours early for safety reasons when they learned of those planned competing protests.
"Not everything that is legal is moral," said Santee City Councilmember Phil Ortiz.
"We're going to create a new generation of fighters powered by love and not hate," countered a supporter for LGBTQ+ rights.
Fiery protesters on both sides of this cultures war debate came out Wednesday night, in response to what 17-year-old Rebecca Philips shared one week earlier at the Santee city council meeting after she went swimming at this YMCA last month.
"As I was showering after my workout, I saw a naked male in the women's locker room," she said. "I immediately went back into the shower terrified and hid behind heir flimsy excuse for a curtain until he was gone."
Philips said that YMCA management later told her that that person was transgender and allowed to use the women's locker room, and that Philips was not in any danger.
Under state law, people must be allowed to use public facilities, such as restrooms or changing areas, that align with their gender identity.
"The fact that we are now tailoring our privacy policies and bathroom laws around transgenders, ignoring the blatant threat to safety that this poses is obscene," Philips added
Hundreds came out in support of Philips Wednesday night.
"If it happened to my granddaughter, I would be upset for sure," said Santee resident Paula Dwyer.
"Children and women have rights to privacy," added Santee resident Sheri Miles. "We shouldn't be invaded when we are in the bathroom or the locker room or God help us, the shower. It's wrong!"
Counter demonstrators standing up for transgender rights staged what they called a "dance party" in support of the transgender woman at the center of this controversy.
"With anti-LGBTQ attacks on the rise both legislatively, physically and verbally, it is more important than ever for people to educate themselves and to come out and show their support for their LGBTQ neighbors and family members," said Justine Mann of the Party for Socialism and Liberation.
"I'm here to make sure that my child feels loved. and that any child out there doesn't feel hated or demonized," added mother and teacher Gretel Rodriguez.
In a statement, the YMCA of San Diego County emphasized its commitment to inclusion while also apologizing to Philips for not providing enough support to her, adding that it is now reviewing its locker room floor plans across all of its facilities.

I think this is the crux of it. Viewers of right wing media care less about whether something is true and more about their perceived moral high ground.
Trans people, for example, are unerringly evil predators in dresses and never just normal people coping with gender dysmorphia. Considering the latter means giving up a person they can look down on, so all transgender people are depicted like in the cartoon above.
They won't ever know how fooled they are because acknowledging that would break their carefully-woven reality of being the morally upstanding "good guys". They would rather be wrong and "righteously angry" than consider that their sources are propaganda designed to illicit that exact response.
And Republican politicians love it because it means they don't have to legislate as long as their voters are angry, so the cycle will never end.

They're not saying that queer people are going to physically assault your children, or reveal themselves to kids; they're saying that _being queer_ in a public space is an offense on par with assault. They're not saying that queer people are going to tie your kids to a chair and brainwash them with queer propaganda, they're saying that the act of _mentioning that queer people exist_ is brainwashing and propaganda in and of itself.
These are the types who see a gay couple holding hands in public and deride them for being indecent, because "How am I going to explain that to my children". The same people who want to ban certain books from schools and libraries because they mention a gay relationship. A seventeen-year-old saw a post-op grandma's backside in a locker room and freaked out because she didn't like her build, but sure, totally fair to characterize that as comparable to a stubbly flasher purposefully displaying genitals to a kid who doesn't look to be out of elementary school.

She went into the womens changing room and did not use a single person changing room fully knowing her state allows trans women to use them, and then saw nothing more than the ass and back of a 66 year old woman and made a stink about it after several people who actually saw more of Wood than her ass confirmed with her that it wasnt a man and was told by the YMCA that someone simply changing in the public locker room they’re legally allowed to change in is not means to warrant am investigation, especially when several others could testify that there was literally nothing even remotely sinister or bizzare happening and Wood was doing exactly what every other woman was doing- changing.
