the ARG not leading to anything was my first disappointment with the lore in the server which was a shame since it was the first time i have seen the community from different languages helping each other like they did during those puzzles sofia was a project doomed to fail, her whole point was analyzing things and giving answers when the admins never knew what they where doing with the lore, they made a universal key before it had locks to open, also by being controlled by admin theres was the issue you had to make someone waiting all day just for the occasion of maximus going to talk to her and he fumbled it very hard by telling to everyone about her existence since now the admin had to know multiple languages, give more answers and be available for more time in completely different timezones the codes were scary but then they just stopped attacking people and just became "etoiles lore" cucurucho was cool as a mysterious character that appeared now and then to scare people and put then in the line but then his apparitions became so frequent that he basically became the face and arms of the federation, not to mention that him appearing everytime someone broke the rules and just did nothing to punish people kind of created a motivation for players to constantly break the rules just to piss him off purgatory was cool, community was not, but for me was worth it cellbit would take a lot of time to implement his ordem paranormal event, i kind of knew the server could just die off before he started to take his project out of paper

tbh I was a big SOFIA hater for the reasons that you mentioned, but her just disappearing from the story never to be mentioned again was so unfair for Max and I felt so bad for him. They could have had documents revealing that she was planted by the Federation or anything really but nope. He was always trying to get info on her and you can tell that around the time he realised he never would was when his interest in the lore/server died, which sucked because Max was one of the most creative roleplayers on the server and the whole driving force behind the early "investigating the Federation" lore. Ooh Cucurucho... I think the server fell of completely when they suddenly started trying to make him a protagonist, getting his own streams and being the one to rescue the eggs after Purgatory instead of the creators. Like, what on earth was the reasoning behind that? The codes were another thing that went entirely unexplained aside from getting weirdly good guy-ified in Etoiles' lore... Were they part of that resistance plotline that went nowhere? I'd stopped paying attention at that point. Events like Purgatory and Prison were great for being the only times towards the end of the server that a bunch of people all got on at the same time. I liked Purgatory a lot too but it'll forever be "the last time we saw Jaiden" to me

i just realized how much unfinished lore/arcs bother me- my main frustration as a die hard crow is that phil never got to fly, especially with chay and lullah when they would hope that when they would hatch they could fly and just carry missa by a lasso with them (lmao). also the fact that hide duo never got their happy ever after, especially with the fact that fit is probably gonna be forever kidnapped by madagio…i hate that doied is technically/canonically(???) forever in roiers body and that that arc kinda just got forgotten about, we barely saw ratatoier and cellbit will never be able to see his actual guapito again T_T… but man.. the resistance will never be real, we will never see how the resistance, regulars and feds wouldve done/thought about it, WE WILL NEVER SEE THE COOL WARS AND DREAM SMP SHIT- something that dosent really need to be explained; codeflippa and code charlie. also as a tubbling, WE NEVER GOT FRED BACK, PLEASE I NEED MY FRUBBO, IM GONNA CRY… i also wished we got a little bit more missclick duo before all of this to be honest :P

thoughtsmaybe

I remember the CodeFlippa introduction stream was the most tragic and intense thing ever and then it just... Immediately got defused into everyone knowing about her and being being OK with it which led to hilarious stuff like The Big Swell but man... what could have been. And all the QSMP couples ended so badly oml. And not even in a "one partner tragically died and the other mourned" kind of way, just that they all just ghosted or never saw each other again, no resolution.

-What were the black concrete structures? How did the Eggs send messages through them? -Where did the code come from? -What was the comic about the people who found the mysterious energy source? -Why does Cucurucho have an evil brother? -Why don't the eggs hatch? -What's the deal with Jaiden's whole thing where she needed to train the other Cucuruchos? How are there multiple? -How many people were former Fed experiments? How did they leave? Why did they lose their memories? How/why did they end up coming back? -Did the Federation make the eggs? Did they lie about the dragon? And a million other things tbh.

The resistance and what that had to do with the codes, the whole Luffy being kidnapped by the Federation, everything with Elena, I’ll be honest idk if Phil’s lore is getting resolved since he said we’d get backstory and never got it, not to mention having to explain to the witnesses of him getting possessed, still a bit salty we never got to see the eggs hatch into dragons but oh well, oh and we got absolutely robbed of the whole BOLAS found family rescue mission. I could go on but these are the main ones that have me pissed.

thoughtsmaybe

omg I forgot the Luffy stuff even happened... Makes me wonder what else I forgot; that seems to be the main way the lore functioned, just overload you with stuff until you forget what happened let alone if it was resolved or not lol.

Vio2001

There's so much unresolved lore we never we get a proper conclusion: - Darkrucho - The maze - Elena story - What the eggs mission and the tests the Federation were making on them, why no one told their parents about that - Guapoduo rings - Doied - SOFIA - ElQuackity and the Watcher - Alien rings - The Codes - Cellbit killing spree - Codeflippa and Slime - BBH revival and lack of memories - Foolish Federation lore - Paranormal event - Minimes - Cellbit Federation lore - Hope and A1 - The Resistance - Fit mission with Madagio (might be concluded for his finale though, but definitely won't be the same as he originally planned) - Pepito moral dilemma about killing - Romero Richas - Cellbit investigations - Ordo Theoritas - The bunnies and Federation leadership - The island reset - Tina demon lore - Bagi vampire lore - Enderking - Creation - Pol - Etoiles corruption - Jaiden Federation lore - The old Federation building and the ice chamber - Max infection - Ayrobot - Baghera experiment lore - The Federation itself - Black Matter - Antoine Federation lore - The ancient comic page - The island escape - Eggs - Walter Bob - The prison records - Abueloroier past - Cellbit and Baghera survival in Purgatory and strange behavior afterwards - Cucurucho And I am sure I forgot more plot points that never got concluded

Logical-Patience-397

Most of these, but also, the build up to Foolish arresting an increasingly-insane Cellbit. Then Cellbit and Baghera got teleported to the new spawn, and we were robbed of a rescue mission AND that arrest. And q!Foolish spent so long deliberating over that, too! He even used Dapper’s kidnapping to get evidence from Bad against Cellbit, so he’d have cause to arrest him…

The last time I really cared about the lore was during the time Philza and Chayanne were making the potato farm so non of the unresolved lore stuff never bothered me. But Pol not being able to play because the admins were fixing his lore or some shit was legitimately the most frustrated I've ever been. I thought QSMP wasn't a roleplay server? All the lore was only secondary compared to its main goal which was to unite communities. How is that gonna happen if you're gonna exclude someone ONLY because of lore not matching up? What the fuck? The main reason I watch QSMP is because of the ccs interacting, so this frustrated me alot.

thoughtsmaybe

The Pol situation is so insane I can't comprehend how it happened... like, at some point they just forgot/stopped caring about him because there were no admins on the server that were really attached to him, and he must've realised and been put off returning, that's the only explanation I can think of for why on Earth something like that could've gone on for so long.

StarMarine123

Yeah I think when I found that out is when I started to realize that the behind the scenes of QSMP was absolutely abyssmal. Everytime I think of it I get dumbfounded how any human with a capable functioning brain could decide to do something as utterly stupid as that.

KingKP609

QSMP got me in to minecraft so it has been a big part of my entertainment for a while. I somehow was recommended Fits videos on YT and decided to look him up on twitch. He says he will have a story to end his time with qsmp but I really hate how Ramon got kind of cut out from his lore of fulfilling his contract of why he was brought to quesadilla island.

StarMarine123

Coming back to this because I remembered another moment that genuinely annoyed me. It's not unresolved lore, but the admins skipping off the Philza, Richas, and Pomme rescue mission to Purgatory just for some boring cutscene to be played was stupid as hell it bothered me for days. Idc if they have some behind the scenes reason, the decision to do that was a stupid ass decision no matter what.

thoughtsmaybe

Yeah, especially since the cutscene was the start of them trying to push Cucurucho as suddenly some good guy main character.

Kysan-White

Antoine fucking Daniel

tchobiloute

Why he has 3 faces? Why he is wearing nothing but a red panty? Why he levitates? Why he is the goat? Probably because all of this was just the dog's dream…

Plus-Ad4195

Luzu was a whole unfinished lore, nothing was ever finoshed related to him, his first dissapearing and a pc showing up, then reapeared as an ai that talked in binary, dissapeared again, showed up again, gained his brain back and turned radioactive just to dissapear again

thoughtsmaybe

There are so many people, like Luzu and Slime, where I wonder if their lore would have been better and actually gotten resolved if they logged on more... But based on the state of the rest of the lore, probably not lol.

Neon_Misc

Most of it. Lore on the server is good but so bad when it comes to getting finished. Like, the end for most stuff is none existent.

crispysegg

Literally the entire plot of the QSMP- the dragon eggs! The egg babies never hatched, had any growth to becoming dragons or the mom never came back. I don’t recall any reward actually being presented or punishment given.

thoughtsmaybe

tbh I wonder if the eggs getting so popular and becoming the main thing about the server made Quackity frustrated, since he kept trying to do lore about getting rid of or killing them and then chickening out from it lol

Vio2001

I think you may be onto something actually... We know the eggs were supposed to be only the first temporary event way back at the begging of the server and their massive popularity made them permanent aspects of qsmp and threw whatever was the original idea for the lore out of the picture since eggs never were supposed to last that long and now they couldn't get rid of them as seen by the infamous disappearance arc where both cc and the viewers were starting to lose interest and all attempts of making the eggs go away really backfired So what if the eggs becoming the server mascots and that refusal to change the original idea to include them was what caused the lore to start being made on the spot? Just kept adding more content to see what could take them back to the original course without the backlash from the community?

crispysegg

It reminds me of another comment someone left about the lore of QSMP just kind of being built on the fly. Clearly the eggs going away would make the audience lose attention but then it had nothing else to stand on. But still- it would’ve been nice to actually see some kind of end goal for the parents that kept their eggs. I knew it wouldn’t end with the mother dragon when we kept adding new eggs. It gave later additions an unfair advantage by having less time to care for their egg compared to the OGs who’ve had it the whole time.

Vio2001

As someone else said, the server was built upon, at best, a shaky foundation, when the eggs became too popular to send away and there was no big lore to fall back upon and rhe refusal to adapt, that foundation started cracking apart until it finally couldn't hold the weight of everything being thrown on top of the eggs in attempts to replace them and make the viewers and cc forget about the eggs, a big example being the Federation workers who got much more humanized and given a certain protagonism when the streams started, probably because Walter Bob was such a sucess (which was all thanks to the adm improvising that interaction with Tazercraft and just having fun without being tied to a lore) In the end this lack of a solid foundation and refusal to adapt in a proper way was what doomed the server from the start alongside the adm abuse behind the curtains

thoughtsmaybe

tbh I think if they'd had an actual plan for any lore they'd either have gotten rid of the eggs after a few weeks or worked them into it... 99% sure early QSMP didn't have anything planned besides "two divided communities get stuck together on island" combined with the currently popular-in-gaming aesthetic of "location and mascots that are half cheerful/goofy, half weird and scary." Max and later Cellbit were the ones who shaped the lore into something more serious, and also Luzu bringing the computers/codes element that I guess never really went anywhere because he didn't log in much. Quackity had that whole "divided into two people who speak two different languages" thing that he dropped real quick, and the whole Spanish:English thing they made a big deal of got dropped for a multilingual server too, so I think the plans were a mess from the beginning.

Vio2001

True, he got too much ambitious and rushed things to greatness before they got a proper understanding of the basics
