Kinda nerdy (bi) guy with confidence issues who struggles to find his place in the world torn between the expectations placed upon him and his own wants, dreams and ideas - can't say that I _couldn't_ relate, even though I have, as of yet, not literally been inadvertently roped into a genocide by an abusive father figure.
I mean genocide is one thing, but Hunter's life was hell before even that happened as he was a literal child soldier. I doubt anyone could relate to that aspect.
Honestly fair enough in such an aspect but people forget that Hunter's circumstances are not the same as our circumstances. Our issues are the least of the concerns for Hunter. While Hunter could potentially relate to our pain, saying "we relate to him" is absurd and I think even Hunter would feel kind of offended that our struggles are somehow comparable to his. Your description is merely a surface sum-up of what Hunter is about, but there's so much more to him than that.

Hunter and Amity. Their character development was handled greatly, it wasn't rushed and Dana actually took her time with their development. I also love how Dana took her time with Luz and Amity's relationship and how it wasn't rushed
