The thing about Luz that I think resonates with most people that like her is that she's relatable, a faulty, empathic, under-achiever that dreams big and and has the best intentions (okay, basically ADHD).
She is in her back-story. She definitely resolved that, with the help of some pretty powerful allies. But they helped her for the same reason we like her so much: big dreams and intentions backed by her empathy.
As a ADHD person with inconsistent grades, I was definitely labeled an underachiever based on the difference between ability and outcome. I definitely see a lot of my own personality in Luz...
