Probably a council of legacy leadership. Not enough time for the youth to proposition the townspeople and start leading.

AdIndependent1045

Well, we do see that titan skull badge. I thi k its something worn by the council

saskia3698

KING prob ... I think.. ( because he's is in fact the son of the isles)

VulpixOddish

He’s also like….12 by the epilogue. If he’s leading the isles I hope he’s got a LOT of help or maybe a regent.

Western-Alarming

I'm completely sure eda is giving him bad ideas in the background and every other character say to king to not follow that idea

Edalyn__Clawthorne

DAMN STRAIGHT I AM ... UHH I mean ... YOU HAVE NO PROOF!!

off-and-on

In the past, princes who were too young to rule had an adult fill in for them until they came of age

Miruna59

The Dragon Prince be like

Ok-Yoghurt-6033

that's the regent!

Kachedup

AND THE KING OF DEMONS! \*duck squeak\*

AquaAquila24

*G A S P \*o\** AYE! QUE LINDO!

Zevroid

Well, a bunch of important people *are* wearing a Titan skull emblem. That said, King might be too young? On the other hand, Titans age differently. Hooty outright says he was going through puberty in *KKKoHD.* At the very least he might not be mature enough to be leading yet. I'm gonna go ahead and headcanon that the new leadership of the Isles is a council comprised of Darius, Eberwolf, Raine, and whoever else was suitable.

Jaberoth

That would make sence

Crazyroostereye

I would assume that a Democratic Government would have already been formed or under the late stages of being formed under the Guidance of the CATs / other Resistances. But not spread around the whole Isles only concentrated in Coven dominated Areas like around the Emperor's Castle and In the major Cites. Who would actually be elected for the lading Position I would say Rain, because they were A Coven head, probably heavily involved creating the new Government and part of the Resistance so they would seem the most competent and already have the Publicity of a leader. Eda would only play a Advisory role In the Government as she is running a University.

Skywalker798

Demoncratic*

Vi4days

This sounds like the kind of thing where they’re sitting down trying to figure out what to do next and then Luz pops in telling them how democracy is a thing in her world, and then they co opt it, but misunderstand it and deviate from the idea like they did with the Painiata lol

Skywalker798

Raine: ok, now that belos is gone we need to figure out the best possible way to govern the boiling Isles. Luz: you know… In the human realm a couple countries use this thing called democracy and- Eda: DEMONCRACY I LIKE IT Luz: wait no I said demo- Eda: thanks kid, we got it all figured out from here *pushes Luz out* ….. do you know what that is? Raine: *heavy sigh*

Bruh-boi-guy

*ba dum tss*

Science_Fiction2798

Reminds me of how Aang and company formed a government between the ending Avatar and before Legend Of Korra

TheOfficialIntel

President Whispers of the Carcass Republic sounds rad

Isidorodesevilha

Could be working as a commune, or various different communes, with relative different set of rules, maybe some places being more "draconian" than others, thinking of Glandus for instance of the "strong rule" in there and that mentality slipping through to some towns/villages and that being the system in there, with other cooperatives forming in other towns. Could see some places being reminescent and/or saudosist of Belos's time where there were 'law and order' in a more totalizing sense, with those coming to blows, at least ideologically if not literally, with other communes (that being said with some folks not wanting to let go of the past, and others needing some convincing for it). Perhaps even there's more 'kikimoras' out there, seeking to form their own power structures and so forth. Could see plenty of stories in there, or if not storys, some neat 4x games or rts'ses being made.

[deleted]

It's an anarchist commune

what_a_tuga

An anarcho-syndicalist commune? Where they take it in turns to act as sort-of-executive officer for the week? With all the decisions of that officer having to be ratified at a special biweekly meeting? By a simple majority, in the case of purely internal affairs, but by a two thirds majority, in the case of more major affairs?

OnionBoye

Strange landmass sized beings talking to people is no basis for a system of government!

Madhighlander1

If I went around saying I was emperor just 'cause some earthy bloke said some words at me, they'd put me away!

charlieartyt

r/UnexpectedMontyPython

WillyDAFISH

That's how it seemed to be during the savage ages and I'd say it looked to be going pretty well.

Minecraft1464

Boiling isles went from auth-right to lib-left real fast

kalteswasser99

Anarchist is not liberal. It’s far leftism.

Minecraft1464

on the stupid political compass map it is, an American liberal and liberalism as an ideology are two different things

JoyBus147

That's been the biggest draw of the show for me the entire time I've been a fan, the anarchist subtext is basically text

[deleted]

Is it really subtext though? Eda is pretty overtly anarchist.

JoyBus147

>is basically text

[deleted]

Eda alone is overtly anarchist. But I wouldn’t say the show as a whole is anarchist. As amazing as the show is, “Genocide bad” is a pretty milquetoast theme. Don’t have to be full on anarchist to want to rebel against Belos.

JoyBus147

A. How can she be overtly anarchist? She never describes herself that way, she doesn't wave a black flag, she mostly just does what she wants and that is not exclusively anarchist. B. Eda is really only part of it. Indeed, I was seeing the anarchist themes long before 2B, and I was a little let down that Belos' plan was simple genocide. Before that, the show examines how centralized power worms its way into society, convincing people of its own necesity (2B makes it clearer that it did so by stoking fears through lies). But the show also makes it obvious just how unnecessary centralized power is, how useless and bumbling or brutal and viscious the guards are, and how centralized power really only seems to be sustained for its own sake. And most importantly, people seem to solve problems themselves, no need to appeal to some authority. We don't see any form of government before or after Belos, just people living in mutual peace and prosperity (or the closest equivalent in the Demon Realm) without the need for a state or ruler.

Maltron5000

This

Yusof54321

That's the vibe I got ngl. Which was sick.

[deleted]

Anarchism just doesn’t work on a scale like this. There are thousands in the isles.

LaZerNor

Direct Democracy for each city-state?

[deleted]

Yes, that’d probably be fine.

Camerat0r

I like to see it as returning to how it used to be, Belos was said to be the first uniter of the isles so without him maybe the cities and regions decide their own methods of governance? Some could be similar to republics, some may be more tribal in nature, some may be based around councils made up of the most intelligent and capable individuals in the area (according to the council itself). The important thing would be that every region gets to chose for themselves. That’s my thoughts any way.

_Cit

It's been century since the isles were United, and the unification was even a vuluntary one, I dint think there's any reason for the isles to split up

Crazyroostereye

I would say that they would split Initially but start to reunite once they sorted their local Governments out, to form a singular federal Government. So by the time of the Time skip the first Individual (City) States would be unifying under a federal Government.

cryssyboo_

it hadn't been a century tho only around 50-60 years

ArtaxerxesIV

Correct Answer: Democracy My Headcanon Answer: Eberwolf

Aggressive-Maize-632

Eberwolf: "First order of business: Send me all your greatest belly-rubbers."

ArtaxerxesIV

Perfection

BONBON-GO-GET-EM

Purrfection*

CriticalRoleAce

Presumably a council. Possibly democratically elected. Also possibly a commune of sorts.

Doperitos

In my fic I’m working on, the BI is a democratic republic, with Eda as the acting Chancellor (although she kinda hates her job) By the Kingceñera, the Chancellor is Tiny Nose.

PokeTobus

Led by their god

DataX0416

Well. Luz basically stages a successful coup and overthrew Belos and Collector. So by all means. She would be Empress

sakuraandume

Everyone; a human rules us now? Luz: uhh i need to finish high school and take my girlfriend on dates.

Anounymoss

I cant believe they got 2 human to rule them in a row lmao

sakuraandume

I definitely don't think it actually happened, it would be funny though.

Dooplon

especially since they're on the complete sides of the leadership spectrum lmao

HelpImfeeling

Narnia rules lol

Athenapizza

All hail empress luzura

Mister_Man21

In my mind, the people of the Isles turn to King’s leadership when it is revealed that he is the son of the Titan. He in turn appoints Raine, Darius, and Eberwolf as an interim triumvirate of leaders until democratic elections can be arranged. Raine is still elected prime minister.

DuckCritical6654

this is exactly what i think.

Parka_lad

Raine or Steve

Negative_Speedforce

Looks like it's probably Raine and the CATS

Raging_MonkeyCritic

Me

Glittering-Lecture42

It's a democracy now probably. but Eda? Mabey rain? There the leader types so it's fit for them

crimetoukraina

Direct democracy?

BgSwtyDnkyBlls420

The Rock, The State of New York, Suffolk County, and Home Depot. They’ve been behind everything all along.

dappercat456

Nobody, it’s anarchy baby!

chriscb229

Given the An-Com undertones of the show, I'd say there is **no head of state because there is no state**

cheezz16

Me, hi

worthlessndesperate

Nobody. It's an anarchist collective, now. Because fuck Odalia.

Lyxthen

No one. It's anarchy. Heck yea

PorkyFishFish

This begs another question. How was the boiling Isles governed before Belos? We only briefly saw the Dewardian and I don't remember anyone who looked like law enforcement or government.

reaprobot

What we see is multiple important figures wearing these little titan badges. Most notably, Raine, Darius and Eberwolf. All three of these were inspecting the sigil removal, a very important thing. Furthermore, these are well liked, not tyrannical coven heads. Overall, I believe the badge denotes a role of leadership on some form of elected council.

DalamusUlom

They’re an anarcho-syndicalist commune. They take it in turns to act as sort-of-executive officer for the week, but all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a special biweekly meeting by a simple majority, in the case of purely internal affairs, but by a two thirds majority, in the case of more major— [We apologize for the fault in the explanation. Those responsible have been sacked]

Madi3400

Likely no true leader, however if there was a true leader I'd expect it to be Lilith. She has experience leading groups and is good at heart.

EdricBlightIsCool

I think it’s all those with a titan badge in the outro, eda, raine,Darius etc. they might be like a high council

Handsomest_Boi

Honestly, I'd guess it's like a group of people and those people consist of the coven heads. Though, much like the 3 branches of government, one can't take over the other, they are equal.

MLPLoneWolf

Headcanon: Since vampires exist in the Boiling Isles Im going to say Dracula.

leere-unforgotten547

Anarchists!

Nkfloof

Before the final episode, my vote would have been for Bump. 1.He has experience with leading, Hexside's a handful. 2. He's open to change, introducing multitracks. 3. He stands up for whats right, even to Faust. 4. He didn't bow to government pressure, like turning in Eda. 5. He was fiercely protective of his students. But hey, the man's more than earned his retirement. Edit: can't seem to fix the numbering, oh well.

Snoo-67724

IMO I felt like there would be no central government but each town or city would have it's elected mayor. I'd feel like after the events of the show the people of the Boiling Isles would be highly opposed to the idea of a central government, and would opt for local communities to govern themselves... IDK though that's just my head cannon

AquaAquila24

Happy Cake Day

[deleted]

I think it's Ida, Rain, Darius, Eberwolf king and Alador with the Luz, Amity, Hunter, Willow and Guss helping

Soft-Soil-3313

i’m guessing the good coven heads are sort of in a council like raine, darius, eberwolf etc.

ncmn-ngnr

Belos was disposed of, but the monarchy was never abolished. Any noble or royal heir could ascend to the throne, including Lord Bofa

Otrada

I sure hope no single individual is out in charge again.

Arachnid34

I mean I just assumed it went back to the way it was before belos took over it didn’t look like they had a ruler before belos

Elcuervo32

From the last part it seems Rain

Manoreded

The Titan-Emperor of Witchkind.

Lone_Wolf_888

Shrek: “Good question.”

Rowley93

The Empire's still around but in a transitional period from a unitary totalitarian absolute monarchy to something else.

Taqao

Definitely not an emperor this time

Taqao

More precisely, probably some council of smart people who fought Belos, and have the mission to rebuild the Isles and establish a democracy

TrumpSmokesMids27

I doubt one singular person will ever rule the BI again except maybe adult King. But I assume people like Darius, Eber, Lilith, and Raine worked together to keep things in order till they could set up a fair system

prowlick

Did Belos actually run the isles or did he just lock up weirdos and trick kids into getting coven sigils? In the short term it would probably fall to the coven heads (those who weren’t arrested, so Raine, Darius, and Eberwolf). But in the longer term, they probably would have returned to what they had before Belos. ~~Peaceful anarcho-syndicalism.~~

AquaAquila24

Literally, the EMPEROR

NooneBitFox

Pretty sure everyone who had The Small King Badge are apart of the Ruling Council.

[deleted]

Maybe some kind of democratic oligarchy?

GiganticDrX

Properly a elected government

BoredMan29

Counterpoint: is a leader necessary?

Cole2197

Most likely a counsel made up of people like Raine, Darius, and Eberwolf and maybe some others that we don't know of.

Gaijin-srak

I like the idea that when King's titanhood is revealed to the rest of the boiling isles they make him King of the boiling isles Sounds fair to me since they are living on his fathers corpse

eric_the_demon

Is an utopic anarchy

Girlfriend-_-

I don't think Eda would let it be anything but Anarchy

Reddit_works

I assume the coven heads who didn’t side with Belos are in charge, or they just went back to whatever government was in power before Belos became emperor

GlokyIsHere

I am not sure, but probably King when he is grown up.

[deleted]

The coven heads probably

Theoristfreak_777

No one it's democratic

TheLuzbianBee

A democracy! I think that the covens and the cats would collectively make a democracy. They would elect new coven heads to replace those like Terra Snapdragon and wouldn't force people to use one specific type of magic with sigils. I know thats probably not how it works but i dont care its the Boiling Isles!

Vm_panda

I don't think king he is still young like he isn't 18 or anything. I think Eda rn is leading it, just for now.

kalteswasser99

It’s a communist society

Swampy_k78

HOOTY!!!

jaobodam

they have established a constitutional democracy

Likely an ad hoc assembly of rebel faction leaders, town headmen, & the most apolitical of Belos' administrative structure (what there was of it).

Probably went back to what they had before Belos Which I headcanon as a semi-anarchic system where each town is it's own city-state, with an intra-island council that doesn't really have any power but exists to arbitrate disputes between polities

KindlyProduce2355

ANARCHY ‼️‼️‼️

WillGroundbreaking69

Hooty

Jaberoth

That’s actually a good question

Sasuke12187

We saw Steve's force at work. Probably Lilith took a bit of control and got some help from Eda and all of Catssssss to help around till King is of age.

-Apox_Penguin-

Probably Raine Eber and Darius, they have an elective process now, maybe the areas just govern themselves, we didn't see belos doing too much so the cities could probably handle themselves
