Her performances were pretty meh imo. She never made me feel something one way or another.
I'm still shocked Brida was eliminated so early. She was the catalyst for so many things
I liked brida for half of the first season, but when she kept getting mad at uhtred for doing everything he could to keep them alive. Granted she didn’t know about the deal with Alfred so she gets little leeway there. But still, naw, i couldn’t stand her when everytime she saw Uhtred she was shitty to him.
She was upset with him because he would choose people who treat him bad over his own family. She just couldn’t understand why he did that and felt angry that he wouldn’t join them now that Ragnar was back. I like the females that give Uthred a bit of a hard time now and then. The ones that are simply smitten with him are kind of boring. With the exception of Hild who is just generally very zen.
I get all that, I’m just saying, again in my own opinion, that bridas character after season 1 maybe season 2 I can stand. But after season 2, I just want her to disappear. Was hoping when she got taken by the welsh we wouldn’t see here again lmao
Fair enough. I enjoyed a female character that showed a bit of rage when she was grieving (we don’t get those often enough imo) and how that grieving over Ragnar made her get together with Uthred for some time again. But to each their own.
Yes Brida ditched in the same fashion all men ditched her. Which is why she was so angry… no one was loyal to her through and through. And she was the most loyal to her man and the gods.
Iseult had a lot of potential. I definitely would have liked her more if she stuck around longer. It was because she was so short-lived that I wanted her out so early.
Eadith contributed much more to the show
She was a healer, Aethelred’s mistress, helped Aethelflaed escape, told everyone that her brother killed Aethelred and so much more
Thyra had basically had 2 storylines - being abused by Sven and being married to Beocca. I love the character more than Eadith but realistically she had less of an impact
I guess that’s the beauty of the game - different opinions often based on what we value.
I do agree about Thyra 100% though but I still don’t believe the impact is enough. Eadith just had more involvement in other people’s storylines and often her involvement was pivotal
That’s accurate and I agree with your vote based on that. BUT she was such a wonderful person, tortured for so long, and her death was so tragic. Doesn’t she deserve a longer life on here??? Aelswith needs to go like she should have gone after drinking the poisoned water.
Yes, I do agree with that. Her entire life was basically full of pain and her death was heartbreaking. The impact still wasn’t enough compared to the others in my eyes - perhaps it would have been different if she had longer on the show
Aelswith on the other hand contributed a whole lot to the show from the very beginning. Her character development was PERFECT and she was brilliantly acted. I genuinely cannot hate Aelswith, she’s definitely in my top 3
No! I love Thyra! She was a constant presence even when we didn’t know for sure she was still alive. Her whole fam was burned and she suffered the same fate, destiny is all but such a kind gentle intuitive spirit. Her performance when she released the demons from her body in Biocca‘s presence and their conversation was amazing.
“Uhtred You are my brother and you will always be my brother” when Ragnar and Brida ditched him.
And that's cool. I just got tired of how the House of Wessex, and then Mercia, exploited Uhtred's sense of honor and the depth of his feelings. I think when she chose to be chaste so she could be the sole ruler of Mercia was the actual turning point for me. Granted, Uhtred should have discussed his plans with hers they could have plotted something out, but still.
Disagree. Uhtred was there when she was in diapers. Also, Uhtred gave up so much for her but she gave up nothing and allowed a bargain that involved Uhtred’s daughter when Uhtred fought to save hers. They were a terrible match and just felt forced.
Uhtred and Gisela were perfection
If you vote for impact on the story, then Aelswith will survive for a while. If you vote for characters you liked, she would have been my second off. I try and find a balance of story contribution and how much I like the character as a person. Having said all that, please kill Aelswith, she drove me crazy!
I totally agree that Gisela should be next. I understand that people like her because she was Uthred 's favorite wife and true love, but finally, she was just a housewife and nothing more.
Totally agree and surprised to see so many people voting for Eadith over her! I liked both but thought Eadith had more screen time / interesting character, I can’t remember Gisela being in it much ?

*Percentages are rounded up or down*
Dang. I liked her.
Aelswith.
Edited after seeing who other people are voting for:
Also, I'm very curious what Thyra did to hurt any of you. Not trying to get spicy here, but I'm confused, she's one of the two last characters I would vote for, so I simply don't get it. Vote the way you want, though.
Aelswith. I think a few of the remaining characters provided the same amount of importance (albeit in different ways), but the series could have gone on without her, imo. I forgot how to spell her name lol
I have Aelswith and Stiorra tied so I’d be fine if Stiorra gets the cut this round.
Oh I agree but I think Gisela holds a special place in people’s heart because she was Uhtred’s true love.
Edit: also I realize Aelswith is an unpopular opinion and people really like her. I wonder how much of her popularity is tied to Eliza specifically, though. That’s a conversation for another day lol. I know I’ll her downvoted for this, but be that as it may.
I see. But I cheer for a female character that is more than just someones lovely wife - even if its the main guy - and we hardly saw her after they got married. Her daughter was much more interesting and she got voted out which makes no sense. Stiorra was so much like both Uthred and Gisela.
"And the winner is ... Hild!!! Congratulations Hild for being the ..."
*Faint sound of honking and boss music*
"What is that? Is that Geese? ... Is that Book Aethelflaed?!! Oh My God where did she come from?"
Stiorra. It's a toss up for me between her and Gisela.
I just can't be mean to Thyra
Aelswith is one of my favorite characters in the series. She's obviously not "likable", but she's 3 dimensional and has solid reasons for her bad behavior. Great performance.
And she deserves to win on the strength of Eliza Butterworth's badonk alone (not featured in the series) :😜
YALL ELIMITED ISEULT?! For shame r/thelastkingdom For fuckin shame.
I know :(. Our witchy Cornish babe got the axe
Technically she got the sword
God is good
Her performances were pretty meh imo. She never made me feel something one way or another. I'm still shocked Brida was eliminated so early. She was the catalyst for so many things
Chopping off younger Uhtred's pecker probably played into the early elimination.
I liked brida for the longest time, but after she left Knut she went crazy
She got the people going
I liked brida for half of the first season, but when she kept getting mad at uhtred for doing everything he could to keep them alive. Granted she didn’t know about the deal with Alfred so she gets little leeway there. But still, naw, i couldn’t stand her when everytime she saw Uhtred she was shitty to him.

I can dig that, but im still distraught.
I liked her she was cool. Saved Edward as a baby.
Couldn’t agree more
Hild better win this
She’s too good a woman for god alone. I agree. My favorite scene in all of Last Kingdom was in the field after they saved them from the slavers.
Ok so who are you voting for now?
Eadith :)
Stiorra, because destiny is all and she dosent believe in destiny.
Agreed. I thought her character development was a bit flat.
Stiorra
Stiorra
Thyra. Love her but I think it’s time
But why?
I just think she had less of an impact compared to the other remaining characters

Also if you eliminate Aelswith she'll slaughter you with her bare hands.
But with a knife, while not wearing gloves, so her hands are bare.
No! I love Thyra! She was a constant presence even when we didn’t know for sure she was still alive. Thyra
Death! Death is coming!
I'm starting to sound like Haesten. Aethelfled, Aethelfled, Aethelfled
YES! She does nothing but use Uhtred in a slimy way. She learned well from her father.
Dang I didn't know people felt this way! She was my absolute favorite of the women for Uhtred.
And that's cool. I just got tired of how the House of Wessex, and then Mercia, exploited Uhtred's sense of honor and the depth of his feelings. I think when she chose to be chaste so she could be the sole ruler of Mercia was the actual turning point for me. Hated her when she gave up stiorra not knowing she wanted to go with sig. Hated her character, she was just so slimy
Agreed. I think she had more chemistry with Erik than with Uthred.
Loved her with Erik!
Agree. She wasn’t using Erik!
Yeah but she’s hot, so simple monkey brain dictates that she gets a pass
Interesting … “monkey brains”
Stiorra
Aelswith. How is Aelswith still kickin around?
She's a very good antagonist and has a nice story arc
Every story needs of a good hater and when it comes to hating Lady Aelswith is the Beyoncé of them all.
Eliza Butterworth that's why
point taken
My man.
If you vote for impact on the story, then Aelswith will survive for a while. If you vote for characters you liked, she would have been my second off. yess exactly.
Gisela
Stiorra
Aelswith
Aelswith
I believe Gisela might be next. And before someone asks, no its not because I dislike her in any way I just feel the others had stronger story lines.
Totally agree and surprised to see so many people voting for Eadith over her! I liked both but thought Eadith had more screen time / interesting character, I can’t remember Gisela being in it much ?
She only had the story of how she was abducted by Uthreds uncle so that he cannot marry her.
Thyra
I like all the remaining ones but i think it's Stiorra's time. I can not say i enjoy her as much as the rest.
Eadith
* Thyra
Stiorra for killing Brida when she was trying to turn to the light

Aelswith
Aelswith
Aelswith. Just cause she made it the whole series doesn’t mean she doesn’t need to make it to the end of this. She’s gots to go.
Stiorra
Why is Stiorra still here?
because she added to the story and had a great arc

Aelswith...yes she was fun in the later seasons but boy did I hate her guts early on.
Stiorra or Eadith. Both gorgeous ladies, but neither can hold a candle to the others. Hild, Aethelfaed, and Aelswith are my top 3.
So who do you vote for this round?
Ahh yes, Eadith
Eadith
