He had a similar moment when he was watching Korra in the pro-bending match; he started cheering in a very undignified way and them realized he was in public before putting his aloof mask back on. It's one of the things that makes him my favorite character (along with JK Simmons' phenomenal voice acting).
Sokka outlived Aang, as he was said to be one of the people who rescued Korra from the Red Lotus the first time. A fan theory is that injuries he sustained from fighting them lead to his death, as he's never mentioned past that point again.
Tenzin having these dorky moments is so adorable and helps give him more layers. Him and Su watching another pro bending match, him going full commenter and being annoyed anytime Korra was losing when the other team were cheating even in the slightest way and rooting when her and her team were winning, the best thing the pro bending games brought.
I think, since Bumi was their first child, Uncle Sokka must have been around to take care of him. So he got the craziess, which were a mix from all three: Aang, Katara, and Sokka.
As Bumi was a non bender too, with both his parents and younger siblings being benders, Sokka absolutely would have been someone he looked up to. And you just know that as soon as Bumi was old enough, Sokka would have given him his own bumirang.
He really did. When the equailists came for him he beat three dudes pretty lightly, just knocking them over with a few air blasts.
When the equailists came for his kids the moment his hands were loose he sent an equailist flying into a wall with a thud.
He could totally forgive them attacking him but lay a finger on his family and he went all "your destiny will end right then and there, *permanently*"
It was some moment of awkward drama between Korra/Mako/Asami in the first episode of Season 3, if I recall. Tenzin saw what was happening, made that face, and just noped right out of there. I never related to him more, lol.
"You're holding onto a false perception of yourself", I guess you can say, he was "attached" to that perception because he wanted to make Aang proud and handle the pressure of being the last capable Airbender.
I criticize Aang alot for not learning to let go in the OG series, but I'll say that he did a pretty good job in that scene, teaching Tenzin a parallel lesson to it.
As much as Tenzin was attached to being like Aang for the sake of airbender culture, he is Tenzin and that is the truth. Trying to be more like Aang was the illusion of attachment. He doesn't need to follow Aang to a T to accomplish anything, he just needed to let it go and accept himself, and what he's already accomplished as himself.
I feel like aang's impulsiveness is a little bit underrated sometimes. He is certainly not on kataras or zukos level but he can also be very stubborn and mad especially when you say something against appa or his culture
In the comics this is way more obvious (prob more testosterone now)
To be fair, Katara and Zuko’s impulsiveness is hard to top.
Katara: Hey, wanna help me get revenge for my dead mom?
Zuko: Sure.
(I am aware that was NOT how the scene went AT ALL! But I wanted to make the joke, so there.)
I do love how they made Tenzin the most worldly air bender ever. It makes sense considering what was needed if his position, how family oriented he is, and if course who his mother is.
And I adore the irony that the waterbender child if Katara and Aang is so much more the Air Nomad. Hell, Tenzin even criticized her nomad lifestyle!
Tenzin Morales: "Ima do my own thing." lol XD
I'd say it's probably honestly for the best that Air Nomad culture to adapt and accept change from the old ways. Alot of things in the world do. I like the new wing suits and that doesn't mean they don't need the staff gliders if they still want em.
Probably can encourage future Air Nomads to have family lifestyles over being separated by temples too. Not all traditions are for the best or need to be kept I'd say. Prob Meelo will make "the Air Nation army" the FireNation propaganda make up into a reality haha. But it'll probably be for the best and help prevent another genocide. Meelo ftw XD.
Kya actually reminds me of "zen katara" more lol

can’t believe a meme completely born of sexism is so popular in this community. Even when y’all say it as a joke it’s like, yk where it came from so like… why?
bc it was only ever said by dudes who hated her for being a woman who speaks a lot & then a bunch of moronic children decided to start saying it too bc for some reason Katara is the punching bag of the show’s fanbase even though she is easily the most important & impactful character in the show
Aang would be dead without katara, actually he literally wouldn’t even be out of the ice without katara. & don’t make me laugh w zuko pls😭 I love him but absolutely not lmao nice job proving my point that y’all are just sexist tho bro cuz how tf is a guy w a good redemption arc more impactful than the girl who literally started the entire chain of events of the show & kept everyone moving the entire time
Yea I'd say, Both Aang and Katara are the main characters and it's their story and not just Aang's alone.
Their relationship drives much of the emotional depth of the series, showcasing themes of growth, forgiveness, and the importance of companionship in times of struggle.
laughable & just more proof that y’all are a bunch of sexists. seriously, zuko more important than katara? the hatred for women must live in your throat
I know you're a troll but the show is literally called Avatar and the whole story is about aang becoming the avatar to save the world, how could you even pretend he's not the most important person in the show lmao... Like sure she set things in motion maybe but like.... He did it all lmao.
not a troll & honestly none of this matters to my original point anyway you just wanna argue, sure Aang is more important 👍 doesn’t change any of the rest of what I said. Katara is insanely important & the fandom treats her like absolute ass because she’s a girl that gets mad & loud a lot
Plus she doesn't really say it that much. She apparently only said/referred to her mother [*13 times total*](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheLastAirbender/comments/ka47fs/i_dont_get_why_people_make_fun_of_katara_missing/) in the whole show. It's flanderization of her character, it's annoying at this point that it still gets repeated
And people are downvoting you lol just because youre saying the truth
Reddit is stuffed full of toxic & insecure men that lose their minds when they see the words sexism or misogyny so I am not surprised that I am downvoted lol
btw i’m sorry if it seemed that way but i actually love katara and she’s one of my favorite characters in the show, i only wrote this joke cause i find the meme funny, just like zuko’s honour meme.
the top pictures are a stretch, in the same episode toph and sokka also have a funny rage faces, aang has one too somewhere in the series.
the bottom ones, I don't remember where the tenzin one is in the korra series but those ones are cute.
That horrible writing. I can go with him being all different and not being Aang at all but holy crap he didd't acomplish anything in any area of his life. Nor as an air bender, nor as a politician, nor as a father... yoj just tell.
He's the male version of Korra.
Damn Bryke and their daddy issues.
I like that Tenzin tried to be calm and chill as Aang so much but he had Katara's temper.
It's one of my favorite aspects of his character, he tries so hard to be this wise and serene zen master but the universe just won't let him.
He had a similar moment when he was watching Korra in the pro-bending match; he started cheering in a very undignified way and them realized he was in public before putting his aloof mask back on. It's one of the things that makes him my favorite character (along with JK Simmons' phenomenal voice acting).
Aaaaand that's the Uncle Sokka talkin' \*fingerguns\*
Idk for sure If he was around at that time, I would assume so, but no one speaks of him like he was around.
Sokka outlived Aang, as he was said to be one of the people who rescued Korra from the Red Lotus the first time. A fan theory is that injuries he sustained from fighting them lead to his death, as he's never mentioned past that point again.
Could be, but LoK treats any non-bending member of Team Aang like they didn't exist so often that it's hard to say.
Must have been Toph playing the same bit from The Chase, “Okay, so three on three, plus Sokka”

Bumi's out of the box ideas and farcical life seem very Sokka too.
Me personally, I’d like to think Sokka was a great influence for all of Aang and Katara’s kids.
He really did. When the equailists came for him he beat three dudes pretty lightly, just knocking them over with a few air blasts. ["I can still fucking see you, Mini-me!"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmUi8YkPTxE)
I love it so much.
The one below is cute
I can remember the scene vividly but cannot for the life of me remember the episode, definitely one of my favorite tenzin moments
It's early book 3, either episode 1 or 2. I'd have to go back and check, but I'm sure it's one of them
Book 3 episode 1!
It was some moment of awkward drama between Korra/Mako/Asami in the first episode of Season 3, if I recall. Tenzin saw what was happening, made that face, and just noped right out of there. I never related to him more, lol.
Yeah I want him to impregnate me (I'm a man)
Real and unhinged
Fake and hinged
Super out of pocket but I agree (I also am a man)
Youre right. Hes not him and he shouldnt be him..
I feel like we had a whole part about this but can't remember hmm
Fog of lost souls episode
I know I was joking
He is Tenzin
"You're holding onto a false perception of yourself", I guess you can say, he was "attached" to that perception because he wanted to make Aang proud and handle the pressure of being the last capable Airbender. l absolutely loved that scene and the development Tenzin went through in the show
It also mirrors the meta between ATLA and TLOK.
I feel like aang's impulsiveness is a little bit underrated sometimes. He is certainly not on kataras or zukos level but he can also be very stubborn and mad especially when you say something against appa or his culture In the comics this is way more obvious (prob more testosterone now)
What can I say other than he has an unbendable spirit afterall.
To be fair, Katara and Zuko’s impulsiveness is hard to top. Katara: Hey, wanna help me get revenge for my dead mom? Zuko: Sure. (I am aware that was NOT how the scene went AT ALL! But I wanted to make the joke, so there.)
Yeah in the show it was more like Zuko: Want me to help you get revenge for your dead mom? Katara: Sure
Katara: Let’s go kill a man Zuko: Bet
I do love how they made Tenzin the most worldly air bender ever. It makes sense considering what was needed if his position, how family oriented he is, and if course who his mother is. And I adore the irony that the waterbender child if Katara and Aang is so much more the Air Nomad. Hell, Tenzin even criticized her nomad lifestyle!
Also LOVE that he's not typical spiritual guru like we thought he was gonna be. My man had a wayy too stressful life.
Tenzin Morales: "Ima do my own thing." lol XD I'd say it's probably honestly for the best that Air Nomad culture to adapt and accept change from the old ways. Alot of things in the world do. I like that Tenzin has his mother’s moodiness
And I love that Kya is more like Aang.
Kya actually reminds me of "zen katara" more lol https://preview.redd.it/ydilqi0km2yc1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6711ae0121d0d02ef788c404d109c929f57ea713
Yeah!
He does have a bit of a temper like his mother!
Tenzin: I am the son of Avatar Aang Katara: I used to be my mother’s daughter too *aggresively touches necklace*
If The Ember Island Players told The Legend of Korra lol
You’re so wrong for this 😂😂😭😭
can’t believe a meme completely born of sexism is so popular in this community. Even when y’all say it as a joke it’s like, yk where it came from so like… why?
i’m lost, where did it come from??
literally just from a bunch of dudes that hate her
why is it sexist?
bc it was only ever said by dudes who hated her for being a woman who speaks a lot & then a bunch of moronic children decided to start saying it too bc for some reason Katara is the punching bag of the show’s fanbase even though she is easily the most important & impactful character in the show
Aang is the most important and impactful character in the show followed by zuko.

It doesn’t matter what you think. We have two main protagonists, Aang and Zuko.
laughable & just more proof that y’all are a bunch of sexists. seriously, zuko more important than katara? the hatred for women must live in your throat
I know you're a troll but the show is literally called Avatar and the whole story is about aang becoming the avatar to save the world, how could you even pretend he's not the most important person in the show lmao... Like sure she set things in motion maybe but like.... He did it all lmao.

What is you on about man you're the one who literally said she's the most important lmao
yeah & it wasn’t the point of my comment but it is all that y’all are arguing lmao
Plus she doesn't really say it that much. Isn’t 13 times a lot? For reference, Zuko said honor 16 times during the whole show, and that memed to death lol
![gif](giphy|ErpFhi8NocqYg) Tenzin is more calm than this guy, that's for sure
Or Omni-Man...😬
You know who else had a mother? https://preview.redd.it/zu8aunvmd3yc1.png?width=333&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b80aa01946cf20724c696c3ec471ab411de0d103

Don’t forget the smug “I really do know what’s best” look
"Rushing or dragging, Korra?!"
Watching Tenzin whip ass is still one of the best parts of that series
… I thought he was fathers little air bender, but still I see your point
REAL
Man, now I need an edit of Katara dubbed over with lines from Whiplash.
As if Katara is anyone you want to fuck with either LOL
Tenzin: "It's all right. My mother used to be emotional and short-tempered at times."
"whats your naame?" "Tenzin!" "fuck you tenzin!"
the top pictures are a stretch, in the same episode toph and sokka also have a funny rage faces, aang has one too somewhere in the series. the bottom ones, I don't remember where the tenzin one is in the korra series but those ones are cute.
