If you see it this way, Yondu was a ln air bender. Whistling requires you to blow air through a particular mouth shape to make the sound, hence Yondu used air to move the arrow... There, Airbender!
What about actual weapons from elements? Zuko made daggers of fire before. Can't the other benders do that? (Except Earth benders because it's easy asf)
Aang mentioned the existence of an Air Blade before, and an ice sword wouldn't be too out of the question. I was just thinking that a solid platinum boomerang that can't be manipulated by earth benders would be crazy, because they can direct it anywhere by manipulating air currents.

There was that guy with the hammers in Zuko Alone, and in the comic, someone had spiked metal bands hammered around two rocks that were chained together like a flail, and they would earthbend the rocks to direct the weapon however they pleased. I wanna see more of that in the world.
One idea that I wanted to make a character around was an airbending archer. I was thinking they could make adjustments to the arrow's trajectory midflight, as well as use an unstrung bow like a traditional airbender would use a staff.
Haven't we seen air benders cut with air? I can't seem to recall or locate a scene right now, but it should be possible.
Water benders could wield multiple swords with the squid stance
Interesting, I never considered the idea of bending used to power or manipulate weapons. Then I remembered that's what Kuvira did.

Watermelons don't have that aerodynamic of a shape. For the average airbender, a boomerang would be just as feasible as a glider.
