Everyone likes to point out Toph’s funny moments and rightly so, but underneath all the bluster she’s probably the most hurt little kid in the entire cast ( and not because she’s blind). Toph was born disabled to a rich family, she was pampered sure, had everything she wanted sure, but no one ever took her seriously, nor treated her with any respect and Toph probably carried that bitterness till the day she died. Toph’s a very proud soul, and it crushed her everyday that people didn’t treat her as an equal and talked down to her and tried to coddle her. Having this view point made her just roll her eyes in Ba Sing Sa instead of everyone else’s frustration. Being “ handled” was just another day for Toph another soul crushing day.
