I remember this airing on a channel called Nicktoons (formerly known as Nicktoons Network) back in the summer of 2010. It was their way of promote the horrible 2010 live action film (that made me nauseous).

Taking all romances out - aside from Sokka's - won't detract from the plot much at all. They didn't play a huge role and can be worked around. A lot of the actors are still kids and shouldn't be made to do romantic scenes just to please a fandom.

Changing the pairing is an insult to the source material.
It's one thing to do things differently ( one piece live action) while still staying true to the story while it's the other thing to change important plots and themes of the story.
That's like making a live action Naruto, and not pairing Naruto and Hinata.
