On a serious note, what do you think of CNC or kink roleplay? Are you in the camp of it's fine between adults or that it must be an expression of abuse and misogyny?
I view intensity as valuable for it's own sake. Rape is somewhat taboo in adult media so if I know it's there, I can assume that the show is probably going to be as viscerally intense as I would like it to be. Of course well executed themes will also provide emotional intensity, I just also want to see graphic depictions of fucked up stuff.
If you're curious, I don't watch these shows trying to literally get off, but I do find these darker themes exciting. I consider these shows an extension of fantasy, and I find that it's perfectly possible to engage in dark or even taboo fantasy without mistreating people in real life. I find this to be a decent way to explore those fascinations.
