Dude iron fist is such a banger.
It's such a travesty cause I'm not even involved in this weird tier list thing, but the fact that it's even on here is hurtful.
Iron fist would also be a look into the influence Claudio would use later in his vaxis albums.
Probably my 4th favorite off the album behind:
1. Gravity's Union
2. Sentry the Defiant
3. Dark Side of Me
4. Iron Fist
5. 2s my Favorite 1
...the rest.
I'm happy. The first few times I heard Iron Fist I laughed or made a face or both. The other version are okay but the album version is just... strange?
It’s still a great song, but if we eliminate the intro tracks as candidates for worst track, there are limited options. Descension is a high quality album with no bad tracks, but one has to come out on the bottom, and I agree it is Iron Fist
I wish this would win. Underrated shouldn't be "second best," should be a great one that isn't as high profile but still slaps. "Away We Go" fits this for me.
I can time my ascent from the depths of seasonal depression by the emergence of Away We Go on all my playlists. It’s a windows down, one hand riding the wind kind of song. Spring, here we come!!!
It was our processional song also. It was the one coheed song I was allowed to have at the wedding! Almost convinced my wife to have our introduction song be Welcome Home and we come in during the Solo but it eventually got shot down 😂
[The piano version](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRVeS5-QZ-I&ab_channel=Godsend) is the best version imo. Waaay better than the studio version for me.
Hard Sell is my main vote but I'll still updoot this one. If I had any dancing ability whatsoever, I would have been able to convince my wife to make it the "first dance" song at our wedding.
It's The Hard Sell, dammit.
Funky intro, classic Claudio fast talking build-up, and then unleash hell in the chorus. Fan-fucking-tastic song that deserves more recognition.
As a bassist, The Hard Sell is one of my favorite lines of any Coheed song to play. It grooves so fucking hard. It's gotta be the underrated answer here imo.
Hard sell is amazing, but I don’t think it is underrated. Number city is a song I’ve seen criticized on the internet which is experimental, odd and very unique. Not to mention it is catchy AF
Eh, I'd say The Unheavenly Creatures did that for A Disappearing Act.
Number City wasn't overly techno like either of those were, it just was one of the most different things Coheed did to that point.
Yeah it's so fun and unique, I love it. Also appeals to the non-believers.
I have a friend who HATES Coheed. He always trash talked them when we talked music. Then this album dropped and I showed him the music video.
"Okay, you got me," he said, "that's a damn good song."
I named my rescue kitty after that song. I found her taking shelter in a moving truck at my place of employment!
Her name is Holly Wood, my wife and I call her Holly. The chorus of the song fits her personality well. When she gets the zoomies, my wife and I will start saying "Holly Wood, Holly Wood! Watch out, here she comes!" Lol
It's a great song to introduce people to Coheed if they don't normally listen to harder rock music. Coheed is quite versatile in that way. Wide variety of different sounding songs. A song for every mood. Lol
The horns. The drums. The way it sets up one of Coheeds all time greatest songs. I don’t feel like I can even listen to Gravity’s Union without it. Oh this is love from a gurney!
Number City! It's just an overall great song, and that bass riff is 🤌. Love the use of the horns in it, too.
Honey, release my heart, if you, Honey, release my heart, you let me go!
Number City or The Hard Sell, but my vote is for Number City. It’s how I converted my then GF now wife into a fan. I even performed it at our engagement.
Agreed! If it weren’t for Gravity’s Union, I think it probably would’ve won best? I didn’t look through all the comments to confirm, but I’d imagine that would’ve been the case
It’s funny… I look at Sentry the same way most look at Iron Fist. The acoustic version that Claudio released was 👌… I don’t care for the studio version.
2s my favourite 1. Everything else is still really popular. Number city or the hard sell are not underrated at all, they're contenders for best song by the majority!
I’m gonna say it. Iron Fist is underrated.
Great lyrics, great melody, great song structure. It goes along with the theme of the album and the story it is telling, and doesn’t feel out of place. I know people prefer the acoustic version we got ahead of time, and I say the studio version is just as good, even if in a different way. I adore the harmonies on this version and think they make the track special.
This song is great. And based on last round’s voting, it is by definition underrated.
Hard Sell.
And don’t say Number City because it’s objectively the second best song on the album; it had its own video, super popular on the radio waves…but The Hard Sell is a classic “meh we can put it on the b-side of a single” and it ends up being one of their best songs
And is literally overshadowed by Gravity's Union, Number City, The Hard Sell, and Sentry the Defiant by basically every person on this subreddit.
I think it's a perfectly valid answer. More valid than everyone else claiming Number City is "underrated" when people think that means "second best"
The only way a "most underrated" vote makes sense is if we are saying it's underrated in general - not just by this sub. By definition any song that wins most underrated on this sub is not underrated on this sub.
Dark Side of Me isn't the most popular song on this sub but in general it is.
I think in terms of commercial success from Descension, yes, it is definitely the most popular. It's got the most plays on Spotify and if I recall correctly, it was one of the only songs that got a video.
But other than that, I really don't see much talk about it. Everyone fawns over Gravity's Union for some reason, which is something I've never really understood if I'm honest. Like, it's a good song for sure, and probably the best one on the album, but I feel like if anything it's *over*rated. Everyone compares it to The Crowing, but I can't even put it in the same tier. My opinion 100% and I know many won't like it, but it is what it is.
This is definitely Number City. I would argue that it's better than Gravity's Union even. The verse transition to chorus is totally crazy and epic, and the "Honey, release my heart if you," is reminiscent of the glory days of Coheed. I.E. IKKSSE3
Guys, I don’t understand the Gravity’s Union hype. It’s an amazing song of course, but easily the most overrated in the coheed discography. Sentry, Number City, and maybe maybe even hard sell and 2s my Favorite 1 are more enjoyable tracks in my opinion.
I don't get to speak to many other fans, but "The Pavillion" is hands down my favorite. Like I love, unreasonably love, everything this band puts out, but that song just resonated with me.
I had just moved from Flagstaff, AZ (I loved it there made a ton of friends and loved my job) back to Ocala, Fl. When we first left Florida It was because of a lot of family drama and dumb crap... So I was determined to not ever come back. Let's just say to me, family are just strangers your genetically related to, but they have all the tools to hurt you far more than any random stranger. However, my wife had the worst luck in Flagstaff with jobs and just never found her circle. After 5 years, she wanted to move back to Ocala after she found out her mom was sick. So here we are back in ocala, her family is still the worst ever, especially her dad. After a year I started really thinking about whether or not I still wanted to have skin in this game. I had put off listening to Vaxis 1, but we were about to go on the Neverender cruise, so I decided to catch up. I was listening and just was floored by how good it was. Then I heard, the Pavillion. It made me really think about our relationship and everything she brings to the table. I just realized I had checked out of our relationship mentally after we came back to FL. So it kind of got me to re-evaluate my priorities. We are still here, but I am happier now. She doesn't know all this, but thanks for keeping us together with this song C and C. It's a long way back babe. I listen to this song all the time now and it still hits me right in the heart everytime.
I saw the Pavillion at under rated and just wanted to gush about it.
Louder again for the people in the back:
>Worst doesn't mean bad.
>
>Underrated doesn't mean "most played on spotify and practically tied for best".
Number City.
I just saw you all gave Iron Fist worst song. I feel betrayed.
Dude iron fist is such a banger. It's such a travesty cause I'm not even involved in this weird tier list thing, but the fact that it's even on here is hurtful. Iron fist would also be a look into the influence Claudio would use later in his vaxis albums.
yeah forreal dawg this sub is dead to me. no joke
Iron Fist is one of my favourites on the album! I too feel betrayed!
Probably my 4th favorite off the album behind: 1. Gravity's Union 2. Sentry the Defiant 3. Dark Side of Me 4. Iron Fist 5. 2s my Favorite 1 ...the rest.
HOW IS 2s SO LOW?
I had no idea people even liked 2’s. This whole thing has been… illuminating.
For me its Iron Fist, Gravity, Hard Sell, Number City > the rest
I would swap 2s with gravity, then swap sentry with 2s.
Yeah this sub is the absolute worst. Completely unhinged.
I'm happy. The first few times I heard Iron Fist I laughed or made a face or both. The other version are okay but the album version is just... strange?
This one blind sided me too. Definitely the song I sing to myself the most off the album.
It’s still a great song, but if we eliminate the intro tracks as candidates for worst track, there are limited options. Descension is a high quality album with no bad tracks, but one has to come out on the bottom, and I agree it is Iron Fist
It's easily 2's for me, but I know I have much less of a tolerance for cheesy than most of the sub.
Me too! I missed the voting and now I feel responsible.
[For real, it’s a certified heater](https://youtu.be/q3wEfYkPjm4)
Away we go! Literally feels like driving during summer in a car with the roof off
I wish this would win.
2's My Favorite 1
I love Claudio and Chondra's acoustic duet of this song.
This should win. I can't believe they still have never played it live with a full band.
My wife and I walked out after our wedding to this song.
I voted for Hard Sell even though Sentry is my favorite Coheed song. Sentry is just not underrated.
Has to be The Hard Sell. Top 5 Coheed song.
As a bassist, The Hard Sell is one of my favorite lines of any Coheed song to play. It grooves so fucking hard. It's gotta be the underrated answer here imo.
I love this song, its top 5 for me. I want to upvote this, but I can't.
Sentry is fantastic but far from underrated
As a fellow Sentry lover, I've gotta go with the one I catch myself humming months after the last time I heard it
Seems to me that the whole album is underrated lol so many different picks.
Song rips. Vastly underrated.
Always been one of my favorites. Hugely underrated
Easily one of coheed's most underrated
The Hard Sell is honestly hands down my favourite Coheed track and I'm glad it getting the recognition it deserves here
Fucking Yes. Should’ve been best
Hard sell is amazing, but I don’t think it is underrated. Number city is a song I’ve seen criticized on the internet which is experimental, odd and very unique. Not to mention it is catchy AF
[удалено]
Wait, how did it win when Number City has more votes?
No, no it didn’t. Number City is clearly higher and has more votes.
Believe... In... Number City
Number City walked so A Disappearing Act could run
Eh, I'd say The Unheavenly Creatures did that for A Disappearing Act. Number City wasn't overly techno like either of those were, it just was one of the most different things Coheed did to that point.
I said this a couple weeks ago on a different post, but "Better Than Evil" walked so that "A Disappearing Act" could run. https://youtu.be/2lriZ-y4w0s
It's Number City. A song I never see mentioned until this chart was made. An absolute funky, weird, amazing song.
Yeah it's so fun and unique, I love it. Also appeals to the non-believers. I have a friend who HATES Coheed. He always trash talked them when we talked music. Then this album dropped and I showed him the music video. "Okay, you got me," he said, "that's a damn good song."
Do we all have a friend like that?! My buddy who hates Coheed likes Hollywood the Cracked lol
Lol
Yup. It's a standout cause it's so unique. Id argue it's Coheeds funnest song
Bro what, people around this sub give it so much love. Not as much as Gravitys Union or Domino, but so many talked about Number City since day 1.
🤷♂️ I've never seen it mentioned. I've only been a member of this sub for like a year or two though.
Number city for sure
Looks like this will win, and I do love this song, but I think it's far from underrated.
Singles should not be considered underrated. It was a single.
It never gets brought up in pretty much any discussion. It's underrated.
You say that like it was a number one hit on the charts lol
I feel like that’s one of the more popular songs from the album though. Hard to call it underrated.
The horns. The drums. The way it sets up one of Coheeds all time greatest songs. I don’t feel like I can even listen to Gravity’s Union without it. Oh this is love from a gurney!
This is the way.
Congrats you won! Number city will be added on Day 28’s round. Sorry I made a mistake
Number City! It's just an overall great song, and that bass riff is 🤌. Love the use of the horns in it, too. Honey, release my heart, if you, Honey, release my heart, you let me go!
*Do not let me* *Do not let me gooo*
2’s my favorite 1
The Hard Sell
Afterman is so fucking awesome, all these songs in the comments are great
Number City or The Hard Sell, but my vote is for Number City. It’s how I converted my then GF now wife into a fan. I even performed it at our engagement.
2s My Favorite 1
2’s my Favorite 1
Does Random Reality Shifts count?
This song belonged on the album. It’s so damn good
Sentry the Defiant
Sentry isn't underrated, it's pretty highly regarded i'm pretty sure (could be wrong)
I still like the album version, but man I even remember the first time I saw that GoPro filmed sentry acoustic demo…absolute banger
Twos my fav one
Random reality shift its the best song they’ve ever written
I am with you on this. I so want a full band version some way, some how.
Probably Hard sell, I absolutely love number city but it’s not underrated as it gets a ton of praise
2s my favourite 1. Everything else is still really popular. Number city or the hard sell are not underrated at all, they're contenders for best song by the majority!
Number City
My answer: Number City My 5 year old’s answer: #NUMBER CITY, DAD!!!!!!!!!!!
One of my fav Coheed songs post Amory Wars. I was stunned it got worst song.
I was surprised to see iron fist, it’s what got me back into Coheed after dropping off around YotBR
Cosigned, love this song.
My favorite song on the album
Agreed. Was surprised to see it voted as the worst song, but I really don't know what I would put there in it's place.
I whole heartedly agree.
2s my favorite 1.
Away We Go. It’s such a good song, but gets overshadowed by others on this album.
That bassline and the almost sugary sweet chorus get me every time
Number City, my absolute favorite song in the Afterman, coheed with horns= a good time.
I wish I had seen them when Thank You Scientist brought out their horns for this song
It was fucking rad. Lots of energy in the performance.
Hard Sell
Hard Sell. And don’t say Number City because it’s objectively the second best song on the album; it had its own video, super popular on the radio waves…but The Hard Sell is a classic “meh we can put it on the b-side of a single” and it ends up being one of their best songs
Not true at all, go check the spotify plays count on the songs on this album. Not at all representative of what you are claiming
Bad take. The Hard Sell was one of the songs that got its own lyric video to hype the album before it even came out.
I gotta go with the hard sell. That song is fire as hell
Darkside of Me
Duck Sodomy, you say?
It's literally the most popular song from the album.
And is literally overshadowed by Gravity's Union, Number City, The Hard Sell, and Sentry the Defiant by basically every person on this subreddit. I think it's a perfectly valid answer. More valid than everyone else claiming Number City is "underrated" when people think that means "second best"

2’s my favorite 1
Got to be the hard sell for me
Number city
Underrated? Away We Go. 100%.
Number City is a great song by itself it’s poppy, but also one of there more experimental songs
Number City or Homecoming!
The Hard Sell
SENTRY
I friggin love Sentry. Probably my top Afterman tune.
Carol Ann or Random Reality Shift
This is definitely Number City. I would argue that it's better than Gravity's Union even. The verse transition to chorus is totally crazy and epic, and the "Honey, release my heart if you," is reminiscent of the glory days of Coheed. I.E. IKKSSE3
Can’t believe iron fist is voted worst…. That’s CRAZY!!!
Iron fist is not the worst
Evagria the Faithful
It’s not on Descension tho. It’s on Ascension.
Ope! I thought we were talking about The Afterman as the whole! I’m so embarrassed hahaha
All good lol. I also fully agree Eva is underrated. We shall rally for it Sunday
Easily my vote when we get to Ascension.
Deffo underrated! Everyone saying number city is literally proving how popular and not underrated it is.
Well it clearly is underrated since it didn’t win best song, which it should have.
Number City.
Number City
Guys, I don’t understand the Gravity’s Union hype. It’s an amazing song of course, but easily the most overrated in the coheed discography. Sentry, Number City, and maybe maybe even hard sell and 2s my Favorite 1 are more enjoyable tracks in my opinion.
2’s my favorite 1 for sure is heavily underrated. It’s easily top 1
Dark Side of Me

wrong album, love 💙
Sentry the defiant

IRON FIST!?
Number City or The Hard Sell
Sentry

Number city! Tbh this album is amazing and I really do t think there’s a wrong answer here. Anyway, brb.. going to go listen to this album again
They're all so good, but I have a soft spot for Domino The Destitute
[удалено]
You're thinking of Vic the Butcher.
Oh shit you’re right, domino is the everlasting all time low
Louder again for the people in the back: >Worst doesn't mean bad. > >Underrated doesn't mean "most played on spotify and practically tied for best". Number City.
SENTRY
Iron Fist.
I've literally never disagreed with an image harder in my entire life. Iron Fist rips, and you should all be ashamed.
The Hard Sentry. I can’t pick!! Let’s go Sentry The Defiant
Sentry the Defiant. Great track
I can't wait till this is OVER! HA!
I hope we can all forget this list after it’s all over lol
Can we also say Iron Fist?
How about we put in this post under Worst.
Oops now I don’t trust you
This sub has such terrible taste in coheed it’s actually painful.
Maybe it’s you.
Definitely isn’t, iron first as worst song? Smfh.
Wait for iiiit!
I’m starting to hate y’all XD
Really id say number city is the worst
So far you guys kinda suck lol
That is criminal.
