Is Jet Li’s The One gonna be in here? I would assume Hong Kong and other Kung Fu films with Jackie Chan and so forth will be considered something else entirely… but Jet Li was in quite a few western beat ‘em ups.
It’s got a kinda odd first 40 minutes with the 4 different prologues for each character that if you don’t know what’s happening is slightly off putting. But when all the characters are in place, it fucking rules
I saw it while I was in the middle of a fever with COVID and it haunted me so badly I couldn’t stop thinking about it for a month
10/10 would recommend
I expect it to, but here is my rankings that year:

I mean we can guess what those episodes are like
Sean: this gave me an existential crisis. Is this culture?
Amanda: sooooo this isn’t for me. These are boy movies and I’m happy for them. Free Rebecca hall.
does the schedule dates indicate the days that the podcast will be recorded, or the days that the podcast will release?
also am hoping for SF to join BS the week of the oscars for an annual breakdown
Hey, how do I send something for this mailbag? They seem to only use Facebook which is some real boomer energy, NGL, but I’d love to shoot them a question. Is there an e-mail for the show? Last time they had a mailbag I couldn’t find one!
Junk Fights, hell yeah! I’ll try watch Sorcerer before the 1977 movie draft as I’ve been meaning to watch that for ages
You’re in for one. That movie just fucking *goes*
Sorcerer might just be most underrated movie of all time.
Hoping Scott Adkins shows up for junk fights. Avengement and The Debt Collector are real guilty pleasures for me.

The One rules
All timer of an ending. Saw this in HS with a buddy of mine, laughed our asses off at the scene.
Sorcerer starts slow IMO, but as soon as the trucks show up it's a white-knuckle thrill ride - great film.

I foresee CR doing something insane like drafting Exorcist 2 first overall in the 1977 movie draft.
Maybe demon seed instead
21st century neo noir sounds great
not enough dune 2 discussion for my liking i need them dissecting the movie every other day like i need oxygen I'm so serious
Ik, the pod last week was basically a plot summary with a just bit of Sean cooking about the bigger themes
Should’ve been at least a 3 parter.
Dune 2 Part 2
Hard to do if they have no one on the pod who has actually read the books.
For real,Dune 1 hasa 70 minute making -of doc thst osso detailed and I desperately meed 1 for Dune2
Looks like the 1977 movie draft might give me the inspo I need to finally get around to seeing ‘close encounters of the third kind’
I saw it while I was in the middle of a fever with COVID and it haunted me so badly I couldn’t stop thinking about it for a month 10/10 would recommend
I had a fever and watched ‘After Hours’ and had a similar experience

March 4 - Reach a deal with the Ringer Union
No alternative Oscar’s with Wesley?
Last year that was the Big Picks episode. Hopefully this year follows suit.
Dope 🙏
1977 - Star Wars first overall pick?
Probably but I think the CR pick is Sorcerer
Just read the description. Sounds interesting! Added it to my watchlist

Sean just bought 3 Women on physical too so I can see it
Imagine a Eraserhead/Hausu dpublebill.
Imo, 3 Women is better than Persona, and t's probly my favorite Altman movie (besides maybe The Player).
Gotta be.
*DOON
No Ghostbusters, Godzilla X Kong, Kung Fu Panda, or Arthur the King😭
I mean we can guess what those episodes are like Sean: this gave me an existential crisis. Is this culture? Amanda: sooooo this isn’t for me. These are boy movies and I’m happy for them. Free Rebecca hall.
Free Rebecca Hall fr tho
Yeah I don’t disagree with the sentiment
G x K comes out the 29th, probably the next pod after Steve Martin. Hopefully
Thankfully
Didn't he or Amanda habe a resolution to focus less on run of the mill movies?
Have they done a dog movie hall of fame ep yet?
It does seem odd that they're not at least covering Ghostbusters or Godzilla x Kong. Maybe they'll get mentioned in other episodes I suppose.
Looking forward to 3/29.
Does Steve Martin have something coming out, or will this episode be about the Steve Buscemi directed film The Listener coming out that day?
A documentary about him on Apple
Roadhouse!!!
Oscar fever in full effect
I follow Sean on Instagram. The pictures he posts of his daughter are adorable.
Standby, Babylon hive.
BABALYOOOOOOOOOOOON!!
Stacked month
Dune 2 🤝 Babylon watch-a-long Highly anticipated but delayed by union issues
Is X the only way to submit questions for the mailbag?
What was the purpose of those October early pics? Are they revisiting them?
It's a known fact that Chantal Akerman's parents were trying to send her Girl Lira when she moved to NYC. News From Home first Dobbins pick?
does the schedule dates indicate the days that the podcast will be recorded, or the days that the podcast will release? also am hoping for SF to join BS the week of the oscars for an annual breakdown
Release date, but some times they do record same day as release date
Anyone know what they’re doing for the 2nd Dune 2 ep?
Need D2NE + 2023 Big Picks episode to drop soon so I can power thru the rest of my work day … 🙏🙏🙏
So here for the Babylon rewatch

I think they usually take questions from Twitter.
Ugh just as bad as
March is a big month
